Su Xueli had no choice but to pretend she didn't see anything and lower her head to enjoy her fried buns and egg drop soup.
"You little brat, why are you sitting there making egg drop soup? Hurry up and fry some buns!" A woman's cursing voice came from the kitchen.
The girl bit her lip, stole one last glance at Wei Mingshen, and reluctantly ran into the kitchen.
Su Xueli put down her chopsticks and let out a long sigh: "Finally, I can eat in peace. From now on, I can't let you eat in restaurants with girls."
Wei Mingshen took a sip of egg drop soup. "You can't blame me for this. My parents gave me such good looks. But I'm used to it, and you'll get used to it too."
Su Xueli shook her head, "I don't need to get used to it, Lin Meizhi will."
Wei Mingshen abruptly stopped biting into the pan-fried bun, placed half of it on the plate, and looked melancholy.
Su Xueli couldn't hold back any longer and asked, "You and Lin Meizhi were talking quite a bit back there, weren't you?"
Wei Ming was embarrassed. He lowered his head, took a sip of egg drop soup, and mumbled, "I didn't say much."
"No way, I saw Lin Meizhi crying."
Wei Mingshen lowered his head and remained silent.
"Did you tell him that we're trying to get a divorce?"
Wei Mingshen turned his head to the side and did not answer.
Su Xueli asked again, "You two haven't seen each other for quite a few days. Wasn't she excited to see you? And she just let you out unharmed?"
Recalling Lin Meizhi's thirsty appearance... Wei Mingshen's face turned slightly red.
Okay, Su Xueli has already imagined the passionate lovemaking they would have later...
She suddenly lost her appetite for steamed buns and didn't want to drink a bowl of egg drop soup. She got up and walked towards the kitchen.
"Where are you going?" Wei Mingshen asked her.
She mumbled, "I need to use the restroom."
She squatted in the toilet, motionless for a long time. She asked herself, "Didn't I say I'd cut all ties with him for the rest of my life? Why am I still jealous and heartbroken over him?"
"Slap!" She slapped herself.
The beating was so severe that my face and palms felt numb for a long time.
She came out of the restroom, her mind as calm as still water.
"Hurry up and finish your egg drop soup, it's getting cold." Wei Mingshen urged her as soon as she came out.
Su Xueli didn't say anything. She took out a handkerchief to wipe her freshly washed hands, sat down, picked up the bowl, and drank the soup, which was still warm. She finished it quickly.
"Turn your face around so I can see you," Wei Mingshen suddenly said, staring at her.
Su Xueli, not understanding why, turned her face to him.
He reached out and touched her face. "Why are you blushing?"
"Is she red?" Su Xueli was startled.
She turned her face away from his hand, covering up her discomfort by saying, "The bathroom is too cold, it's been chilled by the wind."
Wei Mingshen didn't believe it. "Then blow on one side of your face?"
Su Xueli responded naturally: "The wind is blowing right on this side of my face. Oh, are you full? Let's go home."
Wei Mingshen watched her get up with a curious look, then asked the boss to bring a newspaper and take the remaining fried buns with him.
The girl ran over like lightning, carrying a rolled-up newspaper in her hand. She stuffed the remaining buns into the newspaper, wrapped them up, and handed them to him with both hands, her face flushed. She said in a hoarse voice, "The newspaper that wrapped the buns for you is new. Take a good look at it."
Then he turned and ran to the kitchen.
Wei Mingshen frowned and whispered, "Crazy."
