Chapter 100 I Won't Leave You, I'll Just Keep You Hungry (Part Two)

Wei Mingshen's eyes darkened. "What's gotten into you?"

Su Xueli said coldly, "They're in a hurry to start a new life."

Wei Mingshen's eyes hardened and turned cold. "Are you in such a hurry to start a relationship with that teacher? It will be so convenient for you two in the future. You're even related. If you two get together, you'll be practically family."

Su Xueli stared at him intently. "I already made it clear to you that there's nothing between me and him."

"He's always liked you. If you divorce me, he'll definitely pursue you openly."

Su Xueli exploded, "Yes, that's right, but what does that have to do with you?"

Wei Mingshen slammed his fist on the table. "Then I won't divorce you. I'll just keep you waiting!"

Su Xueli laughed in exasperation, "You're wasting my time, which is the same as wasting your own time. You and Lin Meizhi will just be separated like the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl forever."

"That's not your concern."

"Hehe, alright then, let's see who can outlast whom!"

When the two of them went out of the house to the kitchen to eat, they both looked very unhappy. Cao Maizi noticed but didn't dare to ask. She just told Xue Li to eat more vegetables, saying that the dried cucumbers were given to her by the neighbor and that they were chewy, crispy and fragrant.

I must say, vegetables dried in the summer are delicious when soaked in water in the winter, whether stir-fried or used in cold dishes.

Su Xueli ate with great relish, repeatedly saying how delicious it was. Having lived two lifetimes, how could arguing possibly affect her appetite?

Wei Mingshen was furious; even the crispy fried pork didn't taste good anymore. This woman couldn't wait any longer and wanted a divorce.

Although I still have feelings for Lin Meizhi, you've been with my family for almost a month now, and I've treated you very well! When you had your period, I held you in my arms every night and even got into bed early to warm you up. Are you a cold-blooded animal? Don't you have any gratitude at all?

Filled with resentment, he kept glancing at her beside him. Seeing her eating happily as if nothing was wrong, he became even angrier.

He put down his chopsticks, said "I'm full," and got up to leave the table.

"Hey, you little rascal, you've only eaten a few bites and you're already saying you're full? You need to eat two or three steamed buns every day!" Cao Maizi asked him, puzzled.

Wei Mingshen simply replied, "I'm not hungry."

Su Xueli squinted her eyes and continued chewing the dried cucumber, making a pleasant "crunch crunch" sound.

Wei Mingyue's small eyes darted around excitedly as she asked Su Xueli, "Sister-in-law, did you and my brother have a fight?"

Su Xueli, not wanting to upset her, said, "No, he doesn't know who he's angry with."

Wei Mingyue said, "I don't believe it."

Su Xueli said, "If you don't believe me, fine."

Wei Mingyue was disappointed again, so she could only pout, pick up the bowl and slurp down a mouthful of corn porridge, then finish it and get up to leave the kitchen.

Cao Maizi carefully observed her daughter-in-law's expression, then laughed and said, "Who cares about that brat? He won't starve if he misses a meal. Let's eat our own food."

Oh, by the way, the first day of the Lunar New Year is almost here. You two must both go then. Make sure you behave well and don't bicker, so as not to upset the Dragon King and his wife.

Su Xueli was immediately conflicted: should she still go through with the show?
