But there was still no movement.
Su Xueli was puzzled. Her eyes had adjusted to the darkness and she could vaguely see things a little distance away. She realized that there was no one there; she was just talking to herself.
"Snow Pear, why haven't you brought the thatch over yet? What are you doing?" Liu Fengying said as she came out of the house.
"Mother's here! I'm just pulling thatch down from the haystack." Su Xueli hurriedly pulled the thatch, then carried it back into the house.
The mother and daughter sat down and started working. Liu Fengying cut thatch for her daughter as requested, while Su Xueli wove straw figures.
Su Xueli was preoccupied. Although her hands were moving as usual, her mind was not quite working. She seemed distracted when her mother asked her several questions, and her eyes kept looking outside.
Liu Fengying sensed something was wrong, looked outside, and asked, "What are you looking at?"
Su Xueli asked, "I didn't see anything. Is it getting windy outside?"
Liu Fengying said, "Where did the wind pick up? I didn't hear it."
Her eyes suddenly fell on the large patch of tiny figures that had been dyed that day, and she asked, "Did you make all of these yourself?"
Su Xueli didn't understand her mother's words for a moment, and casually said, "Yes."
Liu Fengying asked, "You wove and colored it all by yourself so quickly?"
Su Xueli finally understood her mother's words. She pretended to be calm and said, "It's quick to dye after it's braided. I always braid it first and then dye it. Mother, don't worry so much. Don't ruin it again."
Liu Fengying didn't understand her workload either. After hearing what her daughter said, she didn't dare to be distracted and focused on cutting the thatch.
Su Xueli was still wondering where Wei Mingshen had gone, so she got up again and said, "Mom, I need to go to the toilet."
Liu Fengying muttered, "Have you been drinking too much water? You keep going to the toilet."
Su Xueli said, "Yeah, I was thirsty all afternoon, so I drank water. It's time to pee now."
This time she came out with a flashlight, and then quietly circled around the haystack, but didn't find anyone, and the bicycle was gone too.

She raised her hand to rub it and turned over, but her nose was still itchy. Suddenly, she opened her eyes and saw Wei Mingshen scratching her nose with a blade of grass.
She sat up abruptly, "Where did you run off to last night?"
Wei Mingshen smiled, sat down on the chair next to him, crossed his legs, and said, "I'm leaving."
Su Xueli asked, "When did you leave?"
"I left right after your mother arrived and you went into the kitchen to talk."
"At that time, I hadn't yet come out to tell you that my mother wasn't leaving."
"I know even if you don't say it. Do you think she'll go back after coming here so late at night?"
Su Xueli nodded: "Yes, your analysis makes sense. But I didn't see you leave."
