"Teacher He!" Su Xueli exclaimed in surprise.
He Yujie greeted him with his usual cheerful smile, "Good morning."
"Good morning, please come in, Teacher He." Su Xueli stepped aside to let him into the courtyard.
"You didn't ride your bike today?"
"I didn't have class today, so I just walked over to see if there's anything I can help you with."
"Oh, right, it's the weekend today. But there's really nothing I can help you with, thank you, Teacher He." She led him into the house.
I glanced behind the haystack as I entered.
He Yujie followed Su Xueli into the house and immediately noticed the thatch on the ground and the straw weaving she had made. He asked in surprise, "What is this?"
Su Xueli smiled and picked up a woven Sun Wukong figure to show him: "I'm making straw art."
Then proudly tell him about the business you're doing.
He Yujie was equally amazed by the little figures she had made. He looked at them in disbelief and exclaimed, "I never knew you were a craft artist. No wonder you have such an extraordinary air about you."
"Haha, Teacher He, you flatter me. I'm just a little skillful and quick-witted, earning some money through handicrafts. You call me an artist and have an extraordinary demeanor? You really know how to praise people, Teacher."
He Yujie shook his head: "No, no, no, Xue Li, you are really amazing. Your handicrafts have really amazed me. I would not have believed it if I hadn't seen them with my own eyes here."
"Thank you for your appreciation, Teacher He. Please sit down and I'll pour you a glass of water," Su Xueli said to He Yujie, who was standing.
He quickly declined, saying, "No need, Sherry. You go ahead with your work. If there's nothing else I can do for you, I'll head back and won't bother you anymore."
He then walked outside.
He was very sensible; a single man shouldn't linger in a single woman's house.
Su Xueli didn't want to stop him, so she saw him to the door.
He stopped at the gate of the courtyard, looked at her, and asked softly, "Are you free tomorrow at noon?"
Su Xueli asked, "Is something the matter?"
He Yujie said, "It's my birthday tomorrow at noon. Some of my classmates are coming to my house to play. We'll be making dumplings for lunch. Why don't you come and join us?"
He finished speaking and waited anxiously for her reply.
Su Xueli felt it was hard to refuse, but asked her classmate if it would be convenient for her to go.
She hesitated for a moment, and He Yujie immediately said, "If you have something to do, then forget it. Anyway, we'll be living so close in the future, there will be plenty of opportunities to hang out and eat together."
"No, no, no, I'm free. I'll definitely be there by noon tomorrow," Su Xueli quickly agreed.
He Yujie's eyes lit up with joy, and he said gently, "Thank you."
Su Xueli said, "But, but I don't know where you live."
He Yujie said, "I will come to pick you up."
Su Xueli smiled and said, "That's too kind of you."
"It's okay, you'll remember the place after you go once, and you won't need to pick me up again."
"That's true, then I'll wait for you at home tomorrow."
"Okay, I'll be going now. You go ahead with your work."
After seeing He Yujie off, Su Xueli went to the hospital again.
"You've already made an appointment? That's pretty fast. It's only been two days since the divorce. You'd have to pretend for at least three days." Wei Mingshen emerged from behind the haystack.
Su Xueli mimicked his tone and said, "Why should I pretend? I want to live authentically. You already have someone waiting for you even before you're divorced."
