Chapter 141 This little thing really doesn't need me to warm its bed anymore (Part 1)

Su Xueli huddled under the covers without saying anything, which could be considered tacit agreement.

Wei Mingshen lay down in the quilt and said gently to her, "Silly girl, come into my arms. It's still freezing outside. It won't get warm until after February. Don't make things difficult for yourself."

Su Xueli remained motionless.

Wei Mingshen asked in a seductive tone, "Will you come over by yourself, or should I carry you?"

Su Xueli wrapped herself up tightly and said, "You sleep yours, I'll sleep mine."

Wei Mingshen asked, "Aren't you really cold?"

Su Xueli said, "It's not cold."

Wei Mingshen felt a pang of disappointment: Does this little thing really not need me to warm its bed?

It's actually quite warm today, let's see if the weather changes tomorrow.

He had no choice but to lie down with his hands folded over, hoping that maybe she would get too cold and crawl back into his bed.

He waited, consciously or unconsciously, and before he knew it, an hour had passed and he still hadn't fallen asleep.

This was the first time in his life that he had ever experienced this before. He usually falls asleep the moment his head hits the pillow, but this had given him insomnia.

What annoyed him even more was that the pillow was fast asleep like a kitten.

Wei Mingshen felt resentful: How could she sleep so soundly even without my embrace? What am I then!

Thinking about this made him even more unable to sleep, and he felt hot all over. He couldn't sleep anymore, so he raised his hand, threw off the blanket, and sat up.

Just then, another chicken started flapping its wings and clucking outside the window, followed by a chorus of crowing.

The rooster's crowing only accentuated the stillness of the deep night.

Wei Mingshen had no choice but to lie back on the bed, but he kicked the blanket off his feet and lay on his back.

The longer I lay there, the more uncomfortable I felt; my arms felt empty...

Finally, he quietly turned to her side, gently placed an arm on her blanket, and then watched her reaction with bated breath.

Thankfully, her breathing was steady and she remained completely still.

He felt relieved and became bolder, and tried to slowly reach his other arm under her neck to wrap around her, just like before.

Great, she didn't react at all and continued to breathe softly.

He's probably fast asleep, Wei Mingshen thought to himself.

With that thought in mind, he simply threw off her blanket in one go, pulled her into his arms with the arm under her neck, then quickly covered her with the blanket again, carefully held her and closed his eyes.

He smelled her unique fragrance again and felt her warmth in his arms. He felt a sense of "with such a wife, what more could a husband ask for?"

He lowered his head, buried his face in her neck, and drifted off to sleep, inhaling her scent.

Do you think Su Xueli is completely unaware of this? Of course not.

She had indeed fallen asleep, but she was woken up when he was tossing and turning next to her. Just as she was about to mutter something to him, his groping hand suddenly reached for her neck.

She didn't know what was wrong with her. Maybe she simply didn't want to expose him, or maybe... Anyway, she didn't move and continued to pretend to be asleep.
