Xia Jin walked over to him and prepared to cover him with the quilt that had fallen on the ground and check his wound to see if it had split.
"Does it look good?"
Xia Jin was startled and then said, "What's the big deal? I saw you sleeping here without a blanket and I was worried you'd catch a cold, so I came over to cover you up out of kindness."
"And why are you sleeping here? How did I get to the bed last night?"
Gu Jingmo raised his eyebrows and said, "There are only two of us here, so of course I'm the one who carried you over."
Xia Jin rolled her eyes and said, "Who asked you to hug me?"
Gu Jingmo said, "You're already asleep and I can't wake you up, so I have to do it myself."
Xia Jin said, "Your wound won't open if you sleep here."
"No, do you want to take a look? I feel that I have recovered very quickly in the past two days. I don't know why." Gu Jingmo looked straight at Xia Jin, and a hint of interest appeared in his bottomless eyes.
Xia Jin said guiltily, "Maybe it's because people are more caring here, so they heal faster."
Gu Jingmo didn't hold on any longer, so he said, "Maybe."
Xia Jin said, "I'm going out to buy something. You wait at home."
After saying that, he strode out. Xia Jin first went to the store to put the vegetables in the warehouse, and then went to the vegetable market to buy some meat, fried dough sticks, soy milk and other breakfast items.
Xia Jin took her breakfast home, ate her meal, and then returned to school with her schoolbag. Xia Jin went to the store at noon. Today was the last day of the sale, and there were more people in the store than in the previous two days, all rushing to take advantage of the last bargain.
After two days of training, Aunt Cuihong is no longer so flustered today. Although she is still a little slow, she can already deal with some problems in the store very well, and can solve conflicts with customers very well.
What Xia Jin didn't know was that Aunt Cuihong had been quietly practicing at home these past few days, practicing arithmetic and interpersonal skills. She felt that since Xia Jin had entrusted her with such an important task, she couldn't let her down.
After watching for a while, Xia Jin went home. She had to go to school in the afternoon. Now that the store was open and gradually getting back on track, Xia Jin could concentrate on studying and attending classes. After all, Xia Jin's target school was a university in Beijing. Although he had the cheating tool of space, he still needed to attend classes.
When Xia Jin walked to the door, she smelled the aroma of food coming from the house. Xia Jin was very surprised. Xia Jin opened the door and saw Gu Jingmo busy in the kitchen. Xia Jin said in surprise: "You can cook."
Gu Jingmo said as he served the dishes: "I know a lot, cooking is nothing."
Xia Jin said, "I thought a young master like you could do nothing."
Gu Jingmo said, "Stop, young master needs to eat too. My father threw me into the military camp when I was little, and I spent all day crawling around in the mountains and forests. During the training there, I had to find all the food myself, and I gradually learned it."
"Go wash your hands, the meal is ready."
After washing his hands, Xia Jin brought the remaining dishes into the house, sat down and said, "Then let me try it and see if it's delicious." Xia Jin picked up the fried pork with peppers, took a bite and said, "It tastes okay." Although these dishes didn't look very good, they tasted pretty good.
Gu Jingmo said, "Then I'll cover your lunch for the next few days and pay for your rent."
Xia Jin said: "Okay, I don't have time to do it at noon."
"Oh, by the way, I'll buy you a bed later. It's not a good idea to sleep on the sofa all day. What if your wound opens again? Don't forget to open the door for them this afternoon."
"The empty room across from the kitchen is yours while you recover."
Gu Jingmo smiled and said, "The kid is so nice to me. He was worried that I would have trouble sleeping on the sofa, so he bought me a bed."
Xia Jin said, "Remember all of this. When you recover and return home, don't forget to give me the money. And don't shout."
Gu Jingmo said, "You like money so much? Why don't you marry me, and then all my money will be yours. And if you don't let me call you kid, then what should I call you, Ah Jin, Xiao Jin."
Xia Jin said, "Just call me by my name. Who else wants to marry you?"
"That won't work. How can calling each other by name show that there's something special between us?"
Xia Jin said angrily: "What kind of relationship can there be between the two of us? There is no relationship at all. Stop talking nonsense all day long."
Gu Jingmo saw that Xia Jin was angry and knew that he couldn't tease her too much, otherwise he would be kicked out of the house before he even caught up with her. Gu Jingmo said, "Okay, okay, I was wrong. I won't tease you anymore."
Before going to school, Xia Jin went to the furniture store to choose a bed for Gu Jingmo and left her address for the craftsman to deliver it.
Xia Jin went home for dinner and then went back to the store. Perhaps because it was the last day of the sale, the store was packed with customers until after eight o'clock. After finally waiting for the crowds to thin out, Xia Jin quickly let them go. Business had been getting better and better over the past three days, and on the third day, the profit reached over twenty-three hundred. Xia Jin could be said to have made a killing, having earned back all the money he had invested in opening the store.
However, these three days have exhausted the employees in the store. They have been working non-stop since they arrived in the morning. Aunt Liu has to wash and thread the skewers, Aunt Cuihong has to make various meatballs, Sister Xiaohua and the two people outside have to help them with the work, and Xia Jin has not been idle either. She comes early every morning to prepare the soup base.
They have to work overtime until eight or nine in the evening, and they work almost eleven or twelve hours a day.
The shop assistants didn't say anything. The busier Xia Jin was, the more secure they felt. Earning money meant they wouldn't be fired. Otherwise, where would they find such good jobs? The extra money came with free meals, and every meal included meat. They rarely got such meals at home.
However, Xia Jin still felt bad and planned to see if he could recruit a few more people to take turns working.
However, finding staff wasn't easy, and the recent surge in activity was due to the sales. Xia Jin estimated that starting tomorrow, the shop would be less crowded and less crowded. He would also need to consider the typical customer flow before deciding how many staff to hire.
As expected, there were fewer people around. Xia Jin took down the discount information posted outside the night before. Some customers came in and turned around and left after hearing that there was no discount.
After school at noon, Xia Jin went to the store and saw that there were indeed not so many people. Aunt Cuihong took advantage of the fact that no one was checking out and walked up to Xia Jin and said, "Boss, there are a lot fewer people this morning than before. How about we have another promotion?" There were few people in the store, and Aunt Cuihong and the others were very anxious. Although the store was not theirs, they still felt sad about making less money.
