Gu Jingmo did not tease Xia Jin this time. After being released, Xia Jin quickly stood up and ran to wash his hands. Xia Jin rubbed his hands with soap several times before he could no longer smell the smell of the medicinal oil.
The next morning, Xia Jin got up from the bed early. Today was Sunday and she had nothing to do. Xia Jin got up so early because she was preparing to make breakfast for herself. She was usually in a hurry every morning because of school, and she had to go to the store on Saturdays and Sundays. It had been a long time since Xia Jin had made breakfast for herself. She always bought breakfast outside.
Xia Jin went to the kitchen to check the ingredients at home. Although the weather was cold now and everyone was cooking indoors, the ingredients were kept in the kitchen, where they could be kept longer because it was cold.
Xia Jin pulled out the dried scallops she'd bought from the kitchen, cleaned them, and soaked them in hot water for quick results. She then thawed the fresh shrimp she'd bought. As a small coastal port town, there was no shortage of seafood, and even in winter, there was still some for sale. Xia Jin had previously encountered someone selling live shrimp at the market.
Xia Jin was afraid that she would not be able to find them later, so she bought some more. She originally wanted to put them in the space, but Gu Jingmo lived here, so Xia Jin could only divide them into portions and put them outside to freeze.
Xia Jin put the shrimp by the stove to thaw. As for the noodles, Xia Jin prepared to make chive dumplings. She found some flour at home and poured two bowls of it into the basin. Xia Jin estimated that this was enough for two people to finish in one meal; chive dumplings wouldn't taste good the second time around.
Xia Jin scooped water from a vat in the house, filled a kettle, and set it on the stove. On another stove, a deep pot was placed, and Xia Jin took some thawing shrimp and put them in to cook. While the water was boiling, Xia Jin sprinkled a little salt into the basin and beat an egg white into it, which made it taste better.
After the water boiled and the shrimp were cooked, Xia Jin set the water aside. He took the pot off the stove, removed the shrimp, set them aside, poured out the water, and cleaned the pot.
Xia Jin divided the flour in the basin into two parts, adding hot water to one half and stirring until it became flocculent. She then added cold water to the other half and stirred until there was no dry flour left on either side. She then used chopsticks to mix the flour from both sides together and began to knead the dough. After kneading it into a smooth dough, she covered it with a cloth and set it aside to rise.
While the dough was resting, Xia Jin took out the shrimp she had prepared earlier, cleaned them, and placed them in a basin for later use. Ten minutes later, Xia Jin took out the dough and began to knead it. While she was kneading the dough, Gu Jingmo walked in from outside, hugged Xia Jin from behind, and said, "You woke up so early. Did you sleep well last night? And what delicious food are you making?"
Gu Jingmo had just woken up, and his voice sounded low and lazy to Xia Jin. Hearing such a sexy voice, Xia Jin moved her body unconsciously.
"I slept well. I'm going to make chive dumplings and porridge."
Gu Jingmo hugged Xia Jin and asked, "Baby, is there anything I can help you with?"
Xia Jin put the noodles into the basin in front of him and said, "Please help me wash the rice and then cook it in the casserole."
Gu Jingmo kissed Xia Jin's cheek and said, "Okay." Then he went to wash and cook rice.
Xia Jin took the leeks that had been washed and drained earlier, put them on the cutting board, chopped them into chopped pieces, and put them in the bowl. The leeks were taken out from the space that morning by Xia Jin, and they were very fresh.
Then pour out the shredded shrimp and chop them into small pieces, adding them to the bowl with the chopped chives. Xia Jin then stir-fried the eggs. First, beat the eggs into a bowl, add an appropriate amount of salt, and heat the wok with oil. When the oil is about 70% hot, pour in the egg liquid. Once it expands rapidly, stir it quickly with chopsticks and turn off the heat. Serve and set aside to cool.
Then mix the filling evenly, add cooking oil and salt, then take out the dough and knead it into pieces of appropriate size.
"Baby, the porridge is ready. What else can I do to help you?"
"Can you help me prepare those thawed shrimp and fillet them? And by the way, check if the scallops are soaked?"
Gu Jingmo took a look and said to Xia Jin: "We have to wait a while for the scallop to cook. I am not very good at touching it yet."
"Okay, then you can peel the shrimp first."
After Xia Jin finished her instructions, she continued with her work, flattening the dough into a thin sheet, making it as thin as possible for better taste. She then added the appropriate amount of filling, often generously, and sealed the top tightly, pinching it to create a lace edge for a more attractive look. The whole thing looked puffy and beautiful. Xia Jin wrapped it all in one go.
Then I went to the kitchen and found a shallow flat-bottomed frying pan that I had customized. It hadn't been used for a long time and had a lot of dust. I cleaned it and put it on the empty stove. After it was dry, I poured in oil. When the oil was hot, I fried it until both sides were golden brown and served.
After Gu Jingmo finished peeling the shrimp, he followed Xia Jin closely. Xia Jin made the first leek box, put it on a plate that had been wiped dry, and handed it to Gu Jingmo, saying, "Try it and see if it's delicious."
Gu Jingmo took it, took a bite and said, "It's delicious, just right. You should try it too." Then he picked up the thing and handed it to Xia Jin's mouth. Xia Jin looked at Gu Jingmo's expectant eyes and took a bite for some reason. After taking a bite, she realized that it was the place where Gu Jingmo had just bitten. Thinking of this, a thin red slowly climbed up Xia Jin's earlobe. Gu Jingmo kept asking her how it was.
Xia Jin said shyly, "It's delicious."
Gu Jingmo looked at the shy Xia Jin and teased her, "How come you're still shy after we've already kissed?" Xia Jin glanced at Gu Jingmo when she heard these words. Because she was shy, she didn't look fierce at all. Instead, that look seemed more like a reproach.
Xia Jin looked at Gu Jingmo who was laughing wantonly and said, "Sit over there and eat your food quietly. Don't come over to disturb me while I'm cooking."
As he spoke, he pushed Gu Jingmo to the chair next to him. Gu Jingmo was not annoyed by being pushed to the chair. He focused on watching Xia Jin making things. Xia Jin was disturbed by Gu Jingmo's burning eyes, so she raised the spatula to warn Gu Jingmo: "Don't look at me, concentrate on eating your food."
Gu Jingmo smiled and said, "Xiao Xia is so overbearing that I can't even look at her."
Xia Jin said, "How can you look at people like that, as if you want to..." Xia Jin thought of something and stopped talking.
"What are you going to do?"
Xia Jin said angrily: "You only know how to dig holes for me."
"Oh, when you're done eating, take a look at the porridge. If it's almost done, throw in the marinated shrimp and soaked scallops. Tear the scallops, okay?"
Gu Jingmo put down his things and said, "Understood, Leader."
Xia Jin fried the chive dumplings and brought them to the table. Gu Jingmo brought the porridge and the casserole to the table. Xia Jin served them to both of them. After working all morning, they could finally have a meal. Xia Jin thought the result of her hard work was especially delicious.
