Chapter 102 Lin Yaqin's Dire Situation

"Tsk, tsk, tsk, people from the countryside are just so undisciplined! Can they live a stable life like this?"

"What kind of life are you living?" The old lady suddenly raised her voice. "This kind of thing really thinks she can enter our Gao family. My son just brought her here for entertainment, and he actually married her!"

As she spoke, she suddenly caught sight of Lin Yaqin standing at the corner, and she turned in that direction and spat!

Several old ladies followed her gaze and the washbasin in Lin Yaqin's hand fell to the ground with a bang.

The old woman immediately jumped up and yelled, "You're asking for trouble! How are you going to compensate me for the broken basin?"

Do you think it's just like your little place, where if it breaks, you can just find some bamboo to weave a new one? You're such a waste, you jinx!

Lin Yaqin was numb to the scolding. She lowered her head to pick up the basin and heard Aunt Wang muttering quietly: "This butt looks like a child who is easy to give birth to..."

The old lady brushed her clothes proudly and said, "I only kept her because she has a big butt and is easy to bear children. Otherwise, she would have been swept away like a barbarian long ago!"

At four o'clock in the morning on the winter solstice, when it was still pitch dark, Lin Yaqin was pulled out of Gao Zhiqiang's arms by the old woman.

"Sleep, sleep, sleep! All you do is sleep! Today is the Winter Solstice, and you haven't even gotten up to make dumplings yet? You, a lazy bitch, have ruined all the blessings of our family!"

The old woman cursed in a shrill voice, pinched her arm with her skinny fingers like iron pliers, and dragged her off the kang.

Lin Yaqin was shivering with cold. People from the south had never experienced the cold winter in the north. The house was as cold as an ice cellar. She was wrapped in a thin cotton jacket, and her fingers were stiff and red.

But the old woman didn't care about that. She threw her a bag of Fuqiang flour and said, "Hurry up and knead the dough! Don't dawdle. If you dawdle again, I'll beat you to death!"

But how could Lin Yaqin make dumplings?

She was originally a southern girl. After she married into the Li family, she was a person who had never done housework and had never even touched a rolling pin.

But the old woman didn't listen to her explanation. Seeing that she was clumsy, she picked up a rolling pin and hit her on the back of her hand.

"You're useless! You can't even roll out dumpling wrappers? I want you to eat free rice!"

The old woman cursed and, seeing that she was slow, she simply twisted her arm, digging her nails deep into the flesh.

Lin Yaqin was in so much pain that tears welled up in her eyes, but she didn't dare cry out loud. She could only grit her teeth and continue kneading the dough.

The flour was wet and sticky on her hands. The more anxious she became, the more messy it became. The dough was either too hard or too soft.

The old woman watched coldly from the side, occasionally making a few sarcastic remarks: "Show your ability to spread your legs when you smell a man! Can't you even knead a dough properly?"

The old lady next door passed by and heard it, and she leaned over and said, "Just knead this dough the same way Zhiqiang kneads yours!"

After saying that, the two old ladies started to joke around again!

After kneading the dough, she rolled out the dumpling wrappers. The old woman either complained that the dough was too thick, as if it could be used as a shoe insole! Or she complained that the dough was too thin, as if it could be used as window paper!

After much effort, she finally rolled out a few crooked dumpling wrappers, and then complained that she hadn't mixed the filling correctly.

"You put so much oil in it! What a waste! Where's the salt? How can it be delicious without salt?" The old woman snatched the chopsticks away and poked her hand hard. "Get out of the way! It's an eyesore!"

Lin Yaqin huddled in the corner of the stove, her fingers burning with pain, and she finally couldn't help but shed tears.
