Chapter 120 The Scent of Instant Noodles on the Train

After Tao Ying finished speaking with Wang Baomin, she didn't say anything more to Old Master Wang.

The whole thing made Old Master Wang very uneasy.

He dared not ask, for fear that his wife would scold him if she found out.

This continued until Zhou Daya came out. Seeing that Tao Ying didn't seem to want to talk to Zhou Daya, Tao Ying breathed a sigh of relief.

"Grandma, you look so beautiful today, you look like you're over sixty." Wang Chunni couldn't help but praise Zhou Daya.

"I've decided to take your grandma to Nanjing for a trip the day after tomorrow," Tao Ying said with a smile.

"Just the two of you?" Old Master Wang couldn't help but ask.

"No, I brought two young men with me," Tao Ying said cheerfully.

"What the heck?" Old Master Wang couldn't help but exclaim.

"What? Is it not allowed?" Zhou Daya glared at Old Master Wang.

"You two are both so old, aren't you afraid of what people will say?" Old Master Wang muttered under his breath.

"What's wrong? We just went out for a stroll, it's not like we were out fooling around." Zhou Daya exploded instantly.

"People always talk a big game, no matter what they do, others will talk about them. My mom and I aren't afraid of gossip," Tao Ying said with a smile.

“Dad, I know you’re worried that Mom won’t adapt well to life outside. I promise you, I’ll bring her back safely. You can stay with Baomin for now, and I’ll arrange for you to work with her when she gets back,” Tao Ying said to Grandpa Wang.

Grandpa Wang was instantly rendered speechless, like a duck being choked.

I always felt that Tao Ying was threatening me, but I didn't dare to say anything.

“Ignore him, let’s just stroll around. I’m so old, and apart from when I was fleeing famine, this is the farthest place I’ve ever been.” Zhou Daya glared at Old Master Wang.

That old geezer, he's back to his old ways again. I'm going to give him a good scolding when I get back tonight and teach him a lesson, otherwise he might bully the children after I'm gone.

The younger children kept their heads down, none of them daring to speak, and ate in silence.

The next morning, Old Master Wang walked out of his room dejectedly, somewhat unwilling to go with Wang Baomin.

"Grandpa, what's wrong? My mom didn't tell Grandma." Wang Baomin had complete faith in his mother's character.

"Your grandma scolded me half the night yesterday. Did your mom decide to take your grandma to play with the boy yesterday because you complained about her?" Old Master Wang looked at Wang Baomin through gritted teeth.

“What, young man? My mom is going to Bengbu on a business trip, taking two salespeople with her,” Wang Baomin said speechlessly.

I think my grandpa is hypocritical. You can save money on the side, but my grandma can't even go out to play.

"It's not good for men and women to go out together, without bringing their own men along," Old Master Wang continued.

"Grandpa, you should tell that to my mom. She's always away on business trips, and I've never heard you say anything about it before. Why is it that you can't take care of my grandma now?" Wang Baomin was unwilling to argue with the old man any further.

"How can that be the same?" Old Master Wang sighed.

I'm still alive, but my eldest son is gone. It's none of my business if my daughter-in-law finds someone else.

Besides, the family property was all earned by his daughter-in-law, and it has nothing to do with him.

But old women are different. They've been with me my whole life. What if they kick me to the curb when I'm old?

Old Master Wang was sighing all morning, but Zhou Daya pretended not to notice.

I finished breakfast with great enjoyment, and then went back to my room to pack my things.

As arranged by Tao Ying, I took two sets of clothes, some toiletries, and some accessories.

I kept tidying up and packing, basically wanting to take everything.

Tao Ying had already packed her things and went to the factory for a brief meeting.

They simply gave me a notice that I would be leaving for a week.

Tao Ying planned to take Zhou Daya out for four days first, then go to Bengbu to discuss business, and then come back.

The two salespeople, Zhang Qiang and Zhao Long, went directly to Bengbu to meet Tao Ying.

On the day of departure, Grandpa Wang looked at Zhou Daya with a pitiful expression.

Zhou Daya didn't even glance at Old Master Wang.

Judging from Ying'er's attitude towards this old man, you can tell what he must be up to. Since the child won't tell you, then you won't ask.

Tao Ying and Zhou Daya hailed a rickshaw to take them to the train station. They had already bought two lower berths in a soft sleeper car. While sitting on the rickshaw, Tao Ying thought that she would definitely buy a car when she got back.

It's not like we lack the ability, so why should we wrong ourselves?

Zhou Daya didn't let Tao Ying help her carry the suitcase. "I don't need you. I'm stronger than you. I'm just old."

Tao Ying didn't stand on ceremony with Zhou Daya either; the old lady in the clothing store was always very enthusiastic about her work.

Once inside the carriage, the two put their suitcases under their seats and took off their coats to hang them up.

"This train is really great." Zhou Daya found everything about it fascinating.

“We’ll be sitting here for sixteen or seventeen hours,” Tao Ying said, worried that the old lady wouldn’t be able to sit still.

"Then I'll enjoy the scenery." The old lady couldn't contain her excitement.

"Okay, call me if you get sleepy or hungry later." Tao Ying sat on the bed by herself.

“Okay, we’ll eat instant noodles then. I asked Xiao Wang, and he said you have to eat instant noodles on the train. I’ll buy some for you,” Zhou Daya said happily.

"Mom, I'll buy it for you. I'll bring lots of food." Tao Ying was taken aback, not expecting the old lady to have this idea.

Tao Ying doesn't really like instant noodles. At this time, instant noodles don't taste very good, and the hot water on the train isn't boiling, so the instant noodles don't have any texture.

Tao Ying specially brought roast chicken, sausages, steamed buns, eggs, braised peanuts, and the like.

"I'll have a pack of instant noodles for lunch first," Zhou Daya said cheerfully, sitting by the window and looking at the scenery outside.

There wasn't much scenery to see, but Zhou Daya was still excited.

Around 10 o'clock, vendors came by with carts and trolleys. Zhou Daya bought two packs of instant noodles, a pack of sunflower seeds, and a bottle of soda for Tao Ying.

"Mom, I don't like soda." Tao Ying said helplessly. The price on the train was twice that outside, and the old lady, who was usually very frugal, was quite willing to spend money on it at this time.

"Try some too. Why did you bring so much food? There's plenty on the train. It's heavy, and if you can't finish it, it'll be a waste, and you might end up spending even more money." Zhou Daya put the soda in Tao Ying's hand.

Tao Ying "..."

"Mom, you're right." If it weren't for bringing the old lady along, Tao Ying wouldn't have been carrying so much stuff.

It seems the old lady is adapting well.

"Do you want some? I'll make some for you." Zhou Daya had already taken out her teacup and torn open the packaging.

"Let's go together." Tao Ying hadn't had an appetite before, but the old lady's coaxing made her hungry, and she opened the packaging bag together.
