Chapter 145 Meeting Gift

Madam Jiang had already arranged for people to wait outside. Knowing that the group had gotten out of the car, she quickly sat down.

"Shengnan, look at me, is there anything wrong with me?" Old Madam Jiang looked at Zhao Shengnan with some nervousness.

"Mom, Tao Ying has been to our house before, and this isn't your first time meeting your daughter-in-law. There's no need to be so nervous," Zhao Shengnan couldn't help but tease the old lady.

"I'm only doing this because Jiang Huan is so old, and it's not easy for him to meet someone he truly understands. If I don't do my job well and scare his wife away, what will he do then?" Old Madam Jiang said with a smile.

When Madam Jiang said that, everyone else burst out laughing.

Sun Cuiping secretly rolled her eyes. She didn't know what was so good about an old widow.

However, Sun Cuiping dared not say it aloud, otherwise the old lady would point her finger at her and scold her for three hours.

"What are you saying, so happy?" Jiang Jiang couldn't help but ask as she heard cheerful laughter coming from inside the room as soon as the door opened.

"It's because Mom can't wait to see Tao Ying, Tao Ying..." Zhao Shengnan greeted her with a smile, her eyes widening the moment she saw Tao Ying.

This person seems to be getting younger and younger; he even looks younger than Jiang Jiang.

"Forty-eight?" Sun Cuiping turned her head and looked at Jiang Shuo in disbelief.

"Keep your voice down." Jiang Shuo secretly tugged at Sun Cuiping.

"Hello, Uncle and Aunt," Tao Ying greeted them with a smile.

"Tao Ying, come and sit down." Old Madam Jiang reacted faster than everyone else, smiling and inviting Tao Ying to sit down.

"You must be exhausted after such a long car ride," Zhao Shengnan said, pulling Tao Ying to sit down.

"Xiaoying, you've met your sister-in-law. This is your eldest brother, and this is your second brother and sister-in-law. We don't have many family members." Old Madam Jiang liked Tao Ying very much and held her hand tightly.

"Hello, eldest brother! Hello, second brother and sister-in-law!" Tao Ying greeted them generously.

Jiang Huan's older brother, Jiang Yu, took out a red envelope from his pocket and was about to hand it over.

Tao Ying "..."

“This is mine.” Old Master Jiang took out his red envelope the moment Jiang Yu did.

"You've scared Xiaoying again." Old Madam Jiang was dissatisfied. She hadn't given her the jewelry yet, and she shoved the jewelry box on the table into Tao Ying's hands.

Zhao Shengnan also gave jewelry, which was placed in the same jewelry box.

Jiang Shuo also received a red envelope. When Sun Cuiping saw her mother-in-law's and sister-in-law's jewelry boxes, and then glanced at her own cosmetics box, her expression immediately turned sour, as she felt she might be scolded.

"Thank you, Auntie." Tao Ying accepted it with a smile without refusing.

"Tao Ying, I heard from Jiang Huan that you don't plan to have a big celebration, is that right?" Old Madam Jiang liked Tao Ying's generous and open personality.

“Yes, Auntie, Jiang Huan and I are both this age, so it’s enough that only our family knows. I only have a few children back home, and we’ll be developing our careers there first,” Tao Ying said softly.

“We are aware of your situation, and we will accept your child,” said Madam Jiang.

This was all planned out. Since you've chosen to divorce and have children, you have to accept their children.

“Auntie, my children are all grown up. The youngest is in high school. I have already planned out their future development,” Tao Ying replied softly.

"Then, let's accept that we're family, as long as you don't mind Jiang Huan." Old Madam Jiang suddenly felt a little insecure.

It felt like Tao Ying didn't even like Jiang Huan, and only agreed because Jiang Huan kept pestering her.

Sun Cuiping secretly rolled her eyes again.

How can someone belittle their own family like that, and even look down on Jiang Huan? They'd better just fly to the moon.

Jiang Huan secretly gave Zhao Shengnan a wink.

"Tao Ying, when are you two planning to get your marriage certificate? Even if it's not a big ceremony, we'll still have a few tables at home, right?" Zhao Shengnan asked softly with a smile.

"I think the end of this month will be a good day," Jiang Yu said stiffly.

"Mid-month is also quite good," Old Madam Jiang couldn't help but say.

Jiang Huan nodded quickly.

Sun Cuiping couldn't help but roll her eyes; it was truly unbearable to look at.

"Then let's do it at the end of the month. I don't have any elders in my family, so I can come over by myself." Tao Ying nodded.

"How about the wedding room, Jiang Huan's room on the second floor? The new house I bought for you two isn't even finished yet. It's all Jiang Huan's fault; he only told me before the New Year." Old Madam Jiang got angry just thinking about it.

“I have a house.” Tao Ying assumed it was the house that Jiang Huan had asked Jiang Jiang to renovate.

It took me more than a year to renovate my own apartment; how could it possibly be done well in such a short time?

"Jiang Huan is marrying into the family? That's fine too. I'll give this house to Jiang Huan as his dowry." Old Madam Jiang didn't seem to care much about these things.

Everyone was speechless.

"Marry into the family? Is it because of the bride price? I still have some savings." Old Master Jiang was not keen on his son marrying into the family.

"Dad, Mom, what are you talking about? You can keep your own houses. I bought a house, but it's not finished being renovated yet. I also got the house I need from the military base, and it's being renovated. You don't need to worry about me," Jiang Huan explained with a dark face.

Jiang Huan didn't care about whether or not he would marry into the family; he was just afraid that the old couple would start arguing and scare Tao Ying.

"Let's eat first. Sister Tao has been on the train for two days." Jiang Jiang couldn't stand it anymore either.

"Yes, yes, let's eat first," Old Madam Jiang quickly agreed.

Sun Cuiping pretended to be mute the whole time, afraid that if she spoke, she would be filled with jealousy.

I was never treated like this when I was young; I'm not even as well off as someone who's been married before.

Jiang Shuo pretended not to see Sun Cuiping's glare and continued eating his food.

At the dinner table, Tao Ying mentioned that Jiang Huan fed her the whole time, and her bowl was never empty.

After finishing their meal and chatting for a while, Tao Ying suggested leaving.

"Stay here, the rooms have all been prepared," said Madam Jiang softly.

"Auntie, I have a house here, and I haven't seen Jiang Jiang in a long time. Let's have a chat." Tao Ying politely declined.

"That's fine, come to our house for meals more often." Old Madam Jiang didn't insist that Tao Ying stay.

As Tao Ying was talking, Jiang Huan and Jiang Jiang had already picked up Tao Ying's gift, while Tang Xiao silently followed behind.

"I'll just take Jiang Jiang's car back," Tao Ying said softly when she saw Jiang Huan come out with her.

"We have our own car, why would we ride in hers?" Jiang Huan felt hurt.

Seeing this scene, Madam Jiang became even more worried, feeling that she had guessed correctly: Tao Ying had decided to marry Jiang Huan because she couldn't resist his persistent pursuit.

Jiang Jiang rolled her eyes; she simply couldn't bear to look and didn't want to say anything.

Tao Ying didn't say anything more and silently walked out.

Sun Cuiping rolled her eyes, thinking to herself, "She's not a little girl, why is she pretending?"

Jiang Shuo pulled Sun Cuiping aside. He had been watching Sun Cuiping the whole night, afraid that she might lose her temper and get beaten up again, which would implicate him as well.
