Jiang Shuo was speechless. He suddenly realized that his wife didn't care about him as much anymore.
"Wife..." Jiang Shuo still wanted to confirm it.
"Don't talk while driving," Sun Cuiping interrupted Jiang Shuo.
Jiang Shuo immediately shut up and escorted Sun Cuiping to the station. Sun Cuiping, holding Tao Ying's hand, walked towards the station without looking back, not even glancing at Jiang Shuo.
"Did they have a fight?" Tao Ying asked, puzzled.
“Yingying, I’ve thought about it carefully. It seems that all the reason I’ve been disliked at home for so many years is because of Jiang Shuo. Our family doesn’t get together very often to begin with, and Jiang Shuo always speaks ill of my family members in front of me. I’ve always been a little wary of Mom, my sister-in-law, and Jiang Jiang. After hearing what Jiang Jiang said that time, I felt that Jiang Shuo must have said something about me to them as well.” Sun Cuiping was really annoyed.
“I think you’re right. Look at my poor circumstances, my parents, older brother and sister-in-law, and Jiang Jiang all accept me and treat me very well. You’re so good, there’s no reason for them not to like you.” Tao Ying nodded heavily.
Because I discovered that Sun Cuiping, apart from being straightforward, is really a very good person.
These past few days, Jiang Jiang and Sun Cuiping have been getting along very well.
“So I’ve decided to stop revolving around Jiang Shuo. I’m going to focus on my career and become better so I don’t have to rely on Jiang Shuo’s fame anymore.” Sun Cuiping’s eyes sparkled.
"Second sister-in-law, I support you," Tao Ying said sincerely.
"Yingying, I should thank you. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have been able to get through this." Sun Cuiping wiped away the tears that were flowing involuntarily.
"Actually, your second brother still loves you," Tao Ying said softly.
“It is love, but at this age, what’s the point of talking about love?” Sun Cuiping said nonchalantly.
That's only because my mother-in-law is a very good person; otherwise, I don't know how I would have fared all these years.
The two traveled all the way to Beijing, where Wang Baoshan and Wang Chunli came to pick them up.
"Mom~" Wang Baoshan shouted loudly from afar, genuinely happy.
Wang Baoshan hasn't seen his mother for several months.
Wang Chunli was also very happy and ran towards Tao Ying, calling her "Auntie" and taking Tao Ying's suitcase.
"This is your Uncle Jiang's second sister-in-law, you can call her Aunt Ping," Tao Ying introduced them affectionately.
"Hello, Aunt Ping." Wang Baoshan immediately took Sun Cuiping's suitcase.
"Aunt Ping!" Wang Chunli quickly called out.
"Oh." Sun Cuiping was very happy and took out two red envelopes from her pocket and stuffed them into the hands of the two people.
The two looked at Tao Ying.
"Just accept what Aunt Ping gives you. It's warm at home, so don't be shy," Tao Ying said with a smile.
"Thank you, Aunt Ping," the two said quickly.
“Mom, I’ve gone to the film crew you mentioned on the phone. The film crew is in a very remote village with really bad conditions. I asked my second brother to transfer his car over, and Chunli and I will take turns picking up and dropping off Aunt Ping.” Wang Baoshan said to Tao Ying.
“No need, I have an assistant who can drive. She can drive over, and we can drive ourselves. You two are both top students, and we can’t let it interfere with your studies.” Sun Cuiping was not the kind of person who would be unreasonable and order other people’s children around.
Especially Baoshan, who's about to be a senior in college. And how did they raise him? He's so close to his mother, unlike my two troublemakers who are never home.
“No problem, no problem. My classmates are so envious when they hear that I have a famous celebrity relative in my family. Aunt Ping, I’ll take them to see you then,” Wang Baoshan said with sparkling eyes.
“Okay, Aunt Ping will treat you to a meal then,” Sun Cuiping said generously.
Wang Chunli followed beside Tao Ying, holding Tao Ying's arm.
"By the way, does Baoshan have a boyfriend yet? Aunt Ping can introduce you to someone." Sun Cuiping and Wang Baoshan got along better and better as they chatted, secretly regretting that she didn't have a daughter, otherwise she would definitely give her daughter to Wang Baoshan.
With such a wonderful mother and such a smooth talker, isn't she the perfect candidate for a partner?
"Aunt Ping, I just got rejected. Right now, I just want to focus on my studies and not think about these things anymore," Wang Baoshan sighed.
"Xiaoxue rejected you again?" Tao Ying was a little surprised. Her precious Baoshan had persisted for so long, had he given up?
"Mom, Xiaoxue is planning to go back to her home. She said she'll tell you when you get home. She said she only sees me as her younger brother and nothing else will change." Wang Baoshan was truly heartbroken.
"She's come to her senses?" Tao Ying had expected this long ago.
Wang Yuexue is not a bad child, she just doesn't quite understand her parents' love for her.
Tao Ying also owns houses in Beijing: a small courtyard house and two apartment buildings.
The courtyard house was too big and not suitable for living. Wang Baoshan lived in one of the tenement buildings, while the other one was always empty.
Wang Baoshan has already prepared the place, intending to let Sun Cuiping stay there.
Two bedrooms, one living room, one kitchen, and one bathroom – just the right size.
Sun Cuiping didn't stand on ceremony with Tao Ying; she already owed her a lot, so this little bit wouldn't make a difference.
That evening, Wang Baoshan treated the three of them to Peking duck, fulfilling his duties as host. After explaining everything, Tao Ying went straight home.
When I got off the bus, Wang Yuexue came to pick me up.
"Mom, did Baoshan tell you?" Wang Yuexue hesitated for a long time before speaking as she got into the car.
"Yes, Baoshan said you plan to go back and rejected him." Tao Ying said softly.
“Mom, after being here for so long, I’ve found that I don’t hate them as much anymore, especially when I see Chun Tao still going to the company on weekends. Bao Min and my older sister have never complained about you because they all know that you’re working so hard so that they can have a better life. They all understand you, but I’m not a good daughter.” Wang Yuexue cried as she spoke.
