She rushed over with all her might and crashed into his arms.
The force was clearly too much for him, who had just woken up, but he held back, letting out a low groan, and hugged her tightly.
He looked at the top of her head with a gentle smile in his eyes.
Xu Xinchen nestled in his arms, finally feeling genuine happiness. "You know what? You scared me to death."
She said, her voice trembling with tears.
For so many days, she had been putting on a brave face for everyone outside, telling each visitor that he would definitely wake up. After saying it so many times, she herself began to believe it.
But only she knew that when the night was quiet and she looked at him across from her in the hospital bed, like a lifeless plant, motionless, she would feel scared, vulnerable, and blame him for not waking up, leaving her to face all this alone.
Xu Xinchen cried so hard she could barely breathe; at that moment, she finally let go.

Her undisguised vulnerability tore at Chen Ningsheng's heart apart. Every day, he would frown and gently kiss the top of her head.
"I was wrong."
He spoke very softly, as if he were coaxing a child.
Xu Xinchen wiped her snot and tears all over his clothes. She looked up at him, her eyes misty with tears.
Chen Ningsheng reached out and gently wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes, then licked them with his tongue.
“It’s salty,” he said.
Xu Xinchen's eyes slowly traced his features, from his sharp eyes and high nose to his sensual lips.
Her gaze slowly deepened.
Ignoring everything else, he tiptoed and pounced on it.
Their cool lips touched, and before Xu Xinchen could close her eyes, his wide-eyed gaze was clearly reflected in her pupils.
Her heart softened suddenly, and she closed her eyes, slowly feeling his warmth.
But her initiative didn't last long. Chen Ningsheng realized what was happening, grabbed her waist with both hands, and pulled her close to him.
He turned the tables, sucking on her tongue and vigorously exploring every inch of it.
His eyes burned with even deeper desire.
She stopped herself just before she almost did something wrong.
After they separated, both were slightly out of breath.
When the nurse came in to examine her, this was the state she saw. Xu Xinchen could hardly stay in the room. Her cheeks were flushed, and she left under his unblinking gaze.
Since Chen Ningsheng woke up, Xu Xinchen has been glued to him almost 24 hours a day.
The two spent even more time together than they had before.
As they spent more time together, they gradually adapted to each other's rhythm and became even closer than before.
When the weather is nice, Xu Xinchen will push Chen Ningsheng in his stroller to walk around the small garden at the hospital.
They weren't the only couple in the small garden.
A young couple sat on a bench under a sycamore tree, surrounded by fallen leaves. The girl was feeding her boyfriend, who was wearing a hospital gown, apples bite by bite. Both of them had sweet smiles on their faces, and you could feel their happiness just by looking at them.
Xu Xinchen pushed Chen Ningsheng onto another bench. Chen Ningsheng stared at him for a while, then turned his head away with a hint of disdain.
Xu Xinchen found it interesting and remained silent.
Seeing the look in her eyes, Chen Ningsheng said coldly, "You feed me too."
Xu Xinchen is terrified of him; he really does whatever he wants.
But his eyes held a hint of dissatisfaction, and Xu Xinchen simply couldn't handle his childish temper.
She had no choice but to agree.
He brought an apple from the ward and cut it into small pieces, watching her intently the whole time with a faint smile on his lips.
Xu Xinchen treated him like a king, using a fork to pick up a small piece of apple and put it to his mouth.
"Give."
Chen Ningsheng lowered his eyes, looked at the apple in front of him, and took a bite of it.
Just as Xu Xinchen was about to fork up the apple in front of her to feed her a second piece, everything suddenly went black.
He hooked his arm around the back of her head and was about to kiss her.
"Stop." She placed her hands on his head, looked up at him, and said, "What do you want to do?"
"I'll kiss you." Chen Ningsheng said matter-of-factly.
"No." Xu Xinchen pushed his face away forcefully with both hands.
"Tsk," Chen Ningsheng looked at her disgusted expression with displeasure, feeling a tickle in his heart.
After she finished feeding him the whole apple, Chen Ningsheng said to her, "Check if there are any marks around my mouth."
"No." She glanced at him; his lips were clean.
