Chen Ningsheng sat there motionless, and a tense atmosphere settled over the office.
Seeing her younger brother still stubbornly insisting on his ways, Bai Jing was exasperated and scolded him, "Even now you still won't admit your mistake? Your sister sent you to a top university, and this is how you've turned your studies? How can you face the expectations of your family?"
"Quick! Go apologize to Mr. Chen!" Bai Jing tugged at Bai Hao's sleeve.
Bai Hao was reluctantly pulled forward by her, but he still stubbornly refused to give up his pride.
Bai Jing was getting anxious. "Do you want your sister to kneel down for you?"
"Sister!" Bai Hao was shocked. He clenched his fists, the veins on his arms bulging, and his eyes bloodshot. After a long while, he finally lowered his head in front of Chen Ningsheng. "I'm sorry!"
The apology was delivered with a firm and resolute tone, but Chen Ningsheng knew that this was the biggest concession he could make.
Chen Ningsheng lowered his eyelashes, making it impossible to tell what he was thinking. Just as the Bai siblings were feeling uneasy, Chen Ningsheng leaned forward, suddenly took out a document from the drawer, and threw it on the table.
He leaned back in his chair, looking quietly at the two siblings. "If you sign this, I'll let you go."
The two siblings exchanged a glance, their expressions a mixture of surprise and uncertainty.
Bai Hao stepped forward, picked up the document, glanced at it, and his heart skipped a beat. "You!" He quickly looked up at Chen Ningsheng, his eyes filled with shock.
"So you knew all along!" His ears turned red.
It turns out that this document records the truth behind the matter, including his conspiracy.
Bai Hao was both shocked and frightened. He had to take a closer look at the man in front of him, but the man met his gaze calmly, his expression deep and revealing nothing.
He really underestimated him. It turned out that he already knew the whole story, but he was just deliberately putting on a show for him.
Chen Ningsheng's expression was indifferent. He slightly tugged at his lips as a response, and pointed his chin at the document, "As long as you sign your name, I can let you go."
Bai Hao remained silent and motionless.
Chen Ningsheng looked at him and smiled, "What? You don't dare? A real man would do something but not take responsibility."
Bai Hao was indeed easily provoked. He immediately picked up the pen on the table and quickly signed his name.
Chen Ningsheng took the document and looked at the signature on it with a satisfied expression.
"Alright! You can leave now." He threw the documents on the table, dismissing them.
Bai Hao turned around stiffly and left the office with Bai Jing. Bai Jing followed behind him, asking curiously, "Hao, what document did Mr. Chen have you sign?"
Bai Hao, who was walking ahead, suddenly stopped when he heard this. He was quiet for a moment, then turned to look at Bai Jing, his shoulders slowly slumping down. "Sister, I'm really finished."
Bai Jing was taken aback.
When Chen Ningsheng returned to the villa, Xu Xinchen was leaning against the headboard, quietly reading a book. Upon seeing him, her gaze immediately...
He looked over immediately, his eyes filled with worry.
Chen Ningsheng and she locked eyes, paused, closed the door, and walked towards her.
"How did things go?"
Chen Ningsheng remained silent, took the book from her hand, looked at it, and said with a smile, "I've read this book before."
Seeing that he still had the leisure to look at this at a time like this, Xu Xinchen was annoyed, "What time is it? Are you trying to drive me crazy?"
Seeing how anxious she was, Chen Ningsheng put down his book and looked at her gently. "Don't you trust your husband?"
Xu Xinchen was stunned and asked in disbelief, "Is it really resolved?"
Chen Ningsheng patted her head, stood up, took off his suit jacket, and walked towards the bathroom. "Wait and see what tomorrow's newspaper says!"
