Above the training ground, the helicopter was preparing to land, and a large open space had already been cleared around it.
The rear door of the helicopter opened, and members of the rookie team helped each of their wounded comrades out, while Hao Gang and Ye Yuechen walked at the back.
After everyone disembarked, the helicopter took off again and left.
.........
This mission was unknown to everyone except a few who knew the inside story, which is why they were all so shocked to see so many people injured.
The medical team's doctors and nurses were already waiting there. As soon as the wounded were brought down, they were put on trolleys and taken away. The rookie squad members also quickly slipped away.
A cacophony of chatter filled the air...
Wen Mu walked over and overheard everyone's speculations. As the political commissar and the only commander remaining here, he must know the specifics of the mission.
It was clear that these greenhorns couldn't be allowed to gossip and spread rumors about this mission.
"What are you all doing standing around here? You've all passed the test, haven't you? Get back to training!"
Upon hearing the roar, the crowd quickly dispersed.
Ye Yuechen looked at Wen Mu and nodded: "Political Commissar Wen."
"Major Ye, this way please."
The two walked side by side: "The commander has been waiting for your call for a long time."
Ye Yuechen readily accepted Wen Mu's reminder: "Okay, I understand, thanks."
"Don't mention it."
............
"Mom, where's the plane?"
A little girl, who had run over from the family compound, asked in confusion, "Where's the plane you promised?"
"That's all."
"And what about Dad?"
Ye Wanying glanced around and shrugged: "I don't know... How about we go look for it?"
The little boy nodded emphatically, "Okay!" He was completely unaware that his mother's words were more of a perfunctory response. His eyes searched around earnestly, and finally, he encountered Wen Mu. Only then did the little boy learn that his father had not returned yet and would not be back for several days until the next batch of people arrived.
In an instant, the little man's face showed great disappointment, looking pitiful.
Ye Wanying smiled at her son and then gently ruffled his hair: "Go play somewhere else, Mom has something to talk to Uncle Wen about."
The little one didn't seem to want to talk at this moment. He nodded slightly to his mother and then went to the side.
"This kid, he's got his eyes on the boss?" Wen Mu said with a smile.
"Yeah, who knew that after running out, there was no one to be seen? I'm getting annoyed."
Don't assume that children don't have tempers; when they get really angry, they can be incredibly fierce.
Fortunately, even when my precious son throws a tantrum, he doesn't go too far; he just sullenly runs off to the side and ignores everyone.
Seeing her son already sitting down by the flower bed, Ye Wanying turned her gaze back: "What's the situation now? I happened to see those soldiers being picked up by the medical team when I came over. They should be the first batch to go out on the mission, right?"
cough.....
My sister-in-law is indeed my sister-in-law; as expected of the eldest daughter-in-law, she can guess almost everything at a glance.
"I'm not entirely sure about the specifics, but don't worry, sister-in-law, everything's fine with the boss. He's the one who rescued all these team members."
Few would doubt Gao's skill.
But as a wife, how could she possibly not worry at all?
It's not an impregnable fortress; it's made of human flesh and blood. What if something unexpected happens?
"Did everyone except my husband Gao come back?"
