The three rows of people stood in their respective positions as instructed.
Ye Wanying stood at the edge of the stage, and after everyone was in place, she said: "Now, imagine that you have a rope for a tug-of-war competition in your hands. The competition has begun."
Two or three of the women were quick-witted and had already assumed a tug-of-war stance, but their facial expressions and body movements were a bit too exaggerated.
But since she wasn't a professional actress, Ye Wanying didn't have high expectations for herself.
"The left team is going to win now!"
The women on the left were bewildered, thinking: How are we about to win? Meanwhile, the two petite women at the very front on the right once again nimbly displayed an exaggerated backward leaning posture, occasionally taking a few steps back.
Finally, one of the cheerleaders reacted and shouted to the right side, "Go! Go! Go right!" Her excited face looked as if she were actually in a tug-of-war.
Ye Wanying was quite satisfied; at least they hadn't been completely wiped out.
Of the twenty-one people, three have some acting skills.
He laughed and said, "You can stop now."
Upon hearing this, the sisters-in-law all shuddered and looked at Ye Wanying with suspicion.
In fact, not only were the women's wives suspicious, but even the soldiers below the stage were confused: What is all this stuff?
"Now let's adjust the order. Sister-in-law Tan, you stand in the first row and be the first one. And Sister-in-law Dai and Sister-in-law Lai, you stand in the second and third rows respectively."
The three sisters-in-law were suddenly called out by name, and after a moment of surprise, they began to change seats.
Ye Wanying already had a general plan in mind. These three sisters-in-law would undoubtedly become the mainstays of this stage play.
However, I still need to practice more!
Ye Wanying didn't explain anything about this, probably because even if she did, no one would understand.
There were three copies of the script: one was kept by Zhao Shuai, one was in Ye Wanying's possession, and the third was for the literate sisters-in-law.
In reality, most of the women in the play can only recognize a few simple words, so it's not easy for this stage play to be successfully staged.
First of all, getting the sisters-in-law to memorize their lines was a huge challenge.
Never mind, I'll give it a try first.
Fortunately, this factor was taken into account before writing the script, so the sisters-in-law don't have many lines, most of them only have one or two sentences.
The lead actor, however, had a few more lines.
"Next, memorize your lines. Each of you will have your own number tag, and the script will also indicate who should say which line. Just match them up."
As Ye Wanying finished speaking, a soldier came over carrying a bag of cardboard number tags: "Sister-in-law, they're all ready."
"Thank you for your hard work."
After receiving the number tags, Ye Wanying distributed them to everyone: "Alright, now you can start memorizing. Sister-in-law Xu and Sister-in-law Lei, you two come up here too."
The two people who had been waiting below the stage walked up to the stage: "Commander's family, is it our turn now?"
"Yes, Sister Xu, did you practice at home yesterday?"
"I practiced and practiced, and my husband thought I had gone crazy. He kept reciting tongue twisters at home. Later, I told him that I was going to perform crosstalk on stage, and he was so happy that he wouldn't let me do any housework."
Hearing what Sister-in-law Xu said, everyone around laughed.
Ye Wanying coughed twice: "Okay, that's good."
