Although Gao Dan was carrying his son on his back, he was not slow at all, and was even faster than before.
If it weren't for the need to match his son's pace, Gao Dan would have reached the mountain long ago.
This time, it was about twenty minutes later than expected.
When they arrived, Gao Dan realized that his silly son had fallen asleep on his back. He picked him up and gently patted him.
"Wake up."
"Hmm, Dad?"
In a state between dreaming and waking, the little one hadn't yet reacted.
"It's cold up here, don't sleep." As she spoke, she pulled her coat over her son's shoulders.
Surprisingly, this person, who usually complains so much, can be quite affectionate right now.
The little guy didn't refuse and obediently wrapped himself in his dad's coat, which covered him from his neck to his feet, so he wasn't cold at all.
"Dad, are you cold?"
"It's not cold."
The little one was a bit unsteady on his feet. He was wrapped in such a thick coat that he kept stepping on it and trying to balance himself, swaying from side to side like a roly-poly toy.
Gao Dan frowned as he looked at the little man, and reached out his large hand to steady the little man's head, like twisting a bottle cap, but without using force.
"Dad, where are we going?"
"you guess."
Forehead?
Tuanzi seemed surprised by his father's answer, and paused for a moment before starting to guess:
"Dad, are we going to find a really, really powerful master?"
Gao Dan's lips twitched:
"You watch too much TV."
"Then where should we go? Tuanzi can't guess, Daddy, can you tell Tuanzi?"
Gao Dan glanced at his curious son:
"A secret base."
Children are very curious about things like secret bases:
"Dad, what kind of secret base is it?"
"You'll find out when we get there, but you have to promise that once you're inside and you come out, you won't tell anyone what you see."
Upon hearing this, the little dumpling became even more curious: "Okay, dumpling will definitely not tell."
Gao Dan said he didn't believe it, "Didn't you make the same promise when you roasted the sparrows last time?"
And what was the result?
But I'm not worried, that secret base will be destroyed soon.
The little boy followed his father and walked and walked, until they finally arrived at an unmarked tombstone.
"Stand still and don't move."
"Oh, okay."
Gao Dan then approached the dilapidated, nameless tombstone and kicked it hard; the tombstone clearly loosened.
The little one was very curious and wanted to get closer to take a look, but remembering what his father had just said, he held back, craning his neck as far as he could.
After the tombstone became loose, Gao Dan began to work on it, using considerable effort to pry it open, and then began to dig the soil behind it with a dagger.
Um?
What is Daddy doing?
Fortunately, I haven't watched any tomb raiding TV shows yet.
Gao Dan dug for a long time, and a pile of soil had already accumulated next to him. Finally, he dug a hole, which was probably only big enough for a small person to crawl into.
"Dad?"
"Shut up and don't say anything."
Well, people are just curious.
Gao Dan dug for a while longer, and the opening of the hole expanded considerably. Then he stood up and kicked it a few more times. Chunks of mud fell off the edge of the hole, and soon the opening was big enough for an adult to enter while half-bent over.
Gao Dan wiped the dagger on the grass beside him and put it away.
The little boy asked again out of curiosity:
"Dad, shall we go in?"
Finally, his father responded:
"Um."
Are you looking for treasure?
