Chapter 1292 The Toad is Scary

Old Zhao drove, and after arriving at the military headquarters, Ye Wanying found a junior soldier to lead the way. The two grown men went to the office building because it wasn't yet time to leave work, and they definitely had to report to the commander's office.

Ye Wanying followed the young soldier across the basketball court, then an office building, and only after passing that did she see the gate of the family compound.

"Sister-in-law, the army commander's house is the second small building from the very back. I can't go in here."

The military has explicit regulations that soldiers are not allowed to enter the family compound without permission from their superiors.

Ye Wanying naturally wouldn't make things difficult for the young soldier, and nodded with a smile: "Okay, I'll find it myself from now on, thank you."

After the soldiers left, Ye Wanying walked slowly along the path, and couldn't help but mutter to herself: The environment of the military family compound is much better than that of the elite regiment, mainly because the greenery here is better and there is an artificial lake.

So, the military is really great!

The commander's house was easy to find because there weren't many villas, only a few. The second one the soldier mentioned, Ye Wanying hadn't even gotten close when she saw her shortest, chubby son among a group of little kids standing in a row.

Now there's no need to look anymore.

Ye Wanying spotted the little man, and the little man, of course, saw Ye Wanying too. The mother and child locked eyes from a distance, and then, the little bundle of joy came rushing over like a cannonball:

"Mommy, Mommy, Mommy~~"

Worried that her son might fall over while running around, Ye Wanying quickly stepped forward and picked him up: "Why are you running so fast? Aren't you afraid of falling?"

The little boy, not thinking of anything else, excitedly hugged Ye Wanying's neck and showered her with kisses on the cheek.

"Mommy, you're finally back."

The little guy looks so pitiful, it makes you want to love and cherish him.

"Yes, Mom's back. Shall we go home in a bit?"

The little guy looked completely content with his mom: "Okay, let's go home, let's go home."

As the mother and son talked, they reached the gate of the courtyard. Someone overheard their conversation and couldn't help but ask, "Little brother, where do you live? Isn't it right here?"

Tuanzi immediately looked down at the friend who had asked the question: "No, this is the Chief's house, Tuanzi's house is not here."

"Oh, I see!"

Ye Wanying stopped her son from speaking, and only after putting him down did she say, "Baby, you're wrong. This is your home too, and Grandpa's home is your home too, you know? You can tell your friends that you just don't live here."

Tuanzi nodded obediently, then looked at the row of friends and said, "This is Grandpa Tuanzi's house. Tuanzi just doesn't usually live here."

The little boy, who was only a few years old, was already very clever: "I don't live at my grandpa's house either. My grandpa's house is very, very far away, in the village."

"Me too, me too."

Suddenly, Tuanzi said, "My grandma's house is in the village, it's so much fun there, you can catch crickets and catch fish and shrimp."

The kids don't usually go back to their rural hometowns, and even when they do, their mothers keep a close watch on them and they can't go out to play. So, listening to what the little guy was saying, they were all very curious:

"Is the cricket the insect that chirps at night?"

Tuanzi nodded: "Yes, that's right! But it's not just crickets that chirp, there are also toads. Those things look really scary, I don't dare to touch them."
