The Su family reaped what they sowed.
If we hadn't done so many things without any bottom line, conscience, or morality, how could things have turned out this way?
......
The atmosphere in the entire Su family home was unusually quiet, with almost no one making a sound.
Even the servants walked quietly, trying their best not to make the slightest noise.
Ye Lao Er was not the type to keep quiet; he seemed uncomfortable all over and kept fidgeting.
Su Wen, who was standing next to her husband, quietly nudged him to give him a warning.
But if Ye Lao Er were so easily obedient, he wouldn't be Ye Lao Er.
While everyone was unusually silent, he suddenly stood up:
"No, I need to go out. I'll suffocate if I stay here any longer!"
Without even saying goodbye to Old Master Su, he turned and left.
Forehead?
Seeing this, Su Wen was so anxious she almost cried.
This was her husband, and yet she left him at this crucial moment!
Even if they can't do anything, can't they at least stay by my side?
Su Wen hurried to catch up, and greeted the old man as well:
"Ji Man, wait for me."
It's rare for a couple to be so estranged.
Perhaps, for Ye Lao Er, marriage or not makes no difference. He'll still have fun as usual, and whether there's another person in the family or not is just a matter of having more bowls and chopsticks.
What's the big deal?
The Ye family isn't short of money to support one or two people!
He completely ignored his wife's shouts and walked straight to the gate of the Su family's house.
However, he was stopped by the soldiers guarding outside: "Please go back."
"No, I want to get out! I'm not a member of the Su family, why can't I get out?"
The soldier didn't recognize Ye Jiman and, upon hearing that he wasn't from the Su family, looked suspiciously at the lieutenant beside him.
The lieutenant held a stack of documents in his hand, all of which contained information about the Su family.
He started flipping through the pages, finally stopping at one of the last few pages. After seemingly considering it for a moment, he nodded to the soldier.
"Let them through!"
The soldier was surprised to hear this: "Huh?"
The lieutenant slowly began, "This is the son-in-law of the Su family, the younger brother of our chief of staff!"
I see!
Ye Lao Er, of course, overheard their conversation, and a surge of self-superiority immediately welled up within him: "That's right, aren't you going to let them through? I need to find your chief of staff. If you delay, then..."
cough.
So what if it's delayed?
The sudden sound drew everyone's attention, including Ye Lao Er.
"Ah Chen? What brings you here? But it's good that you're here. Hurry up and take your second uncle away, okay? This place is bad luck!"
The tone of his voice conveyed the utmost disdain.
It seems like if you stay here any longer, you'll get sores on the soles of your feet.
but.....
"No, Second Uncle, you may have to stay here for a while longer."
What?
"What?"
Ye Lao Er's exclamation.
Ye Yuechen laughed, showing no awareness whatsoever of making fun of his own uncle: "Oh, it's Grandpa's order. For now, Second Uncle, you'll stay here."
After saying that, Ye Yuechen walked over to the lieutenant beside her, and the two spoke in hushed tones.
Ye Lao Er was furious, but he couldn't help eavesdropping, wanting to know what his nephew was saying to someone.
Are you talking badly about yourself?
Why did those two keep glancing at me while they were talking?
It's impossible not to have doubts!
