Ha, so you know you were just giving me the runaround before?
This shows some self-awareness; it's a classic case of only realizing one's mistake when facing certain death.
Ye Wanying rolled her eyes a few times:
"This is such a small matter, why would we need to trouble you, Commander Gao?"
Even my precious son can do feeding fish.
The little guy was a bit suspicious. Why did he feel that there was something strange between his dad and mom?
It's often said that children are sensitive, and it's true.
"Dad, why don't you take this thing and throw it away?" the little boy ordered his father.
The little man hated that big crab, but dared not touch it. Since Gao Dan happened to be there, he naturally instructed his own father to do so.
Gao Dan looked into the basket through the hole:
"Crab?"
The little boy nodded: "Okay, Daddy, go throw it away."
Ye Wanying couldn't help but tap her son on the head:
"Why throw it away? It's such a waste to throw away such a big crab!"
At least I caught it myself.
The little guy, who had been tapped on the head, looked at Ye Wanying with a worried expression:
"Mommy, there's only one, don't waste it."
One isn't enough to eat, okay?
Wow, you're quite good at talking back.
Gao Dan quickly spoke up:
"Don't throw them away, make more and steam them."
Forehead?
The mother and son looked at the man at the same time, their eyes conveying the same meaning:
"How can we make more? You do it?"
Gao Dan rolled up his sleeves, and his long legs fell directly down.
Hiss~
"Daddy, be careful!" the little boy called out worriedly.
Looking at her son, who still knew to worry about her, Gao Dan felt a little relieved.
"It's alright, don't worry."
As soon as he finished speaking, he paused again and began to pry open the stones by the water.
After breaking off several large rocks, they finally spotted a crab.
"Dad, there there there!" The little guy up there was so anxious he wanted to jump down, but luckily his mother was smart and had already tied him up.
Therefore, no matter how sincere or earnest a promise is, whether from an adult or a child, it is sometimes unreliable.
This kid promised not to move before, but now he's about to jump!
Hmph, just like his father, he's only fooling himself.
Ye Wanying was a little annoyed, but there was no need to be jealous of her son. She continued to fish with her eyes closed and mind at ease, letting the man break off crabs down there and see how many he could break off.
We caught several in a row in the cracks of the rocks; they must be a family.
"Son, hand me the basket."
The little guy made an "oh" sound and reached his hand to the basket, still a little scared, because there was another one inside, and it was so big!
But in the end, he still picked it up and handed it to his father:
"Dad, hurry up and take it."
If we don't take it now, they won't be able to hold it anymore.
Ye Wanying pretended not to see this.
When they finally finished work and went home, the man had actually caught at least seven or eight crabs, enough to steam a whole pot.
On the way home, the little guy ran in the lead, while his parents lagged behind.
"Are you still angry? I've already caught all the crabs for you!"
So the crab was caught specifically for me?
Of course, otherwise that stupid son of his wouldn't be so kind.
Ye Wanying understood the implication. Actually, she wasn't that angry anymore; she just didn't want this man to think she was as indifferent as he was. Perhaps pride is contagious.
Back home, Ye's mother was preparing lunch, while Ye's father had already returned from the fields and was sitting under the eaves of the main room, drinking tea and resting.
The little boy, carrying a basket of crabs, rushed towards Ye's father:
"Grandpa, Grandpa, look, so many crabs!"
