Su Youfu groaned as the newcomer punched him in the stomach, making him shudder in pain. He tried to take the sack off to see who had hit him.
But the men didn't give him a chance to open the sack; as soon as the sack bulged, they started hitting the bulging parts.

The courtyard was quiet, just like when Su Youfu was being beaten and called for Grandma Su; the only sound was the whistling wind.

Grandma Su continued banging on the door and shouting, "Open the door now! Open the door and take your dad to the hospital, do you hear me...?"
But no matter how much she knocked, there was no response from the yard.
She wondered if she hadn't knocked on the door loud enough, so she started kicking it and banging on it with a stick. The neighbors all came out, but Su Xiaosi and Su Hongmei's yard remained quiet.
