"Oh, right, brother, I have a student named Cheng Fuxing, he's from Guangzhou. I'll call him over for you to give you some guidance." Qin Xiaoyu thought of the young man from Guangdong.
"You've thought of everything so thoroughly, I'll just listen to you." Qi Si was completely convinced by Qin Xiaoyu.
Qi Si brought her back. It was almost midnight, and Master Wang was still awake, pacing back and forth at the building entrance.
"Are you afraid I'll eat the little fish?" Qi Si retorted irritably to Master Wang.
"I'm getting old, I can't sleep," Master Wang muttered under her breath, but Qin Xiaoyu couldn't hide her little tricks from her.
Qin Xiaoyu linked arms with Master Wang and they entered the school gate side by side.
"Master, don't worry, Qi Si and I have passed the test and there won't be any more problems."
“I was quite worried. Don’t think that just because I’m old I don’t know anything. I’ve worked in the service industry for so many years, and I can tell from his expressions that he likes you.”
"Master, stop teasing me."
“I didn’t. I treat you like my own daughter. Would I joke about your affairs? He probably heard some rumors before and became suspicious of your relationship with Zhou Xing. He was always wandering around outside those days, and he would come at night to stare at your window. It scared me to death. I didn’t dare to tell you, afraid of frightening you, so I could only watch from the shadows.”
"Is that so?" Qin Xiaoyu finally understood that the day Qi Si bumped into Zhou Xing taking her home was not a coincidence, but rather something he had been following for a long time. She had thought Qi Si was a rough man, but she never expected him to be so thoughtful.
"Now it seems he's resolved his inner conflict and is genuinely treating you like a girl, which is a good thing. You should be aware of that." Master Wang understood perfectly.
In fact, Qin Xiaoyu had just come to her senses. This trip to see the new hotel location was Qi Si's last test of her. Although they had agreed to forget about that day, he was still worried that it might leave a mark on her heart.
The conversation that evening, in which Qin Xiaoyu spoke frankly and openly, dispelled all of Qi Si's suspicions, and the two of them will get along even better in the future.
Finding an opportunity to visit Hanhan and her younger sister, Qin Xiaoyu took out her coral earrings.
“This is an old item, too valuable, I can’t accept it.” Zhou Xing’s mother, being worldly-wise, immediately refused.
"This is a small token of my wife's appreciation. If I take it back like this, she'll definitely blame me for not speaking properly," Qin Xiaoyu said with difficulty.
“I told the elderly that I appreciate the sentiment, but I can’t accept the gift,” Zhou Xing’s mother said firmly.
"Auntie, to be frank, these two children eat and drink here every day, and we already feel bad about it. If they refuse even a small gift, we would really be too ashamed to leave them here."
"You little rascal, you're so good with words, you even know how to threaten me with the child!" Zhou Xing's mother deliberately frowned.
"Mom, please accept it. Madam is a proud and arrogant person. It's rare for her to be so kind to you," Zhou Yue chimed in.
"But this is too expensive. It's made of rare, fine material, and it's quite old." Zhou Xing's mother had no choice but to put away the earrings, looking at them from left to right, and she genuinely liked them.
"That's good, now I can go back and give you an answer." Qin Xiaoyu chuckled.
"This is from Madam's collection?" Zhou Xing's mother examined the earrings closely, becoming more and more puzzled.
“Yes, the Tang family has a bad social standing,” Qin Xiaoyu said in a low voice, and Zhou Xing’s mother suddenly realized. She took the opportunity to stand up and help Zhou Xing’s mother put on the earrings, while Zhou Yue had already brought over a diamond-shaped mirror.
The coral earrings were dazzlingly red, making Zhou Xing's mother's skin appear even more delicate. Only her elegant and noble demeanor could truly carry them off; anyone who saw them would have to say they were beautiful. Zhou Xing's mother looked around, quite satisfied.
"No wonder, I knew it was something from the palace. Judging from Madam's demeanor, she's not an ordinary old lady. Has she suffered a lot?" Zhou Xing's mother also had a bad family background and suffered from it, which brought her closer to the Tang family.
"We didn't suffer any hardship, and the younger generation is very filial."
"That's right. Just having a granddaughter-in-law like you is a blessing for the old lady. Any family with you would be doing well." This was the highest praise Zhou Xing's mother gave Qin Xiaoyu, and Zhou Yue stuck out her tongue upon hearing it.
"Auntie, you're going too far. I'm not that kind of person."
“Everything is fine, it’s just your fate…” Zhou Xing’s mother slammed on the brakes, swallowing back the rest of her words.
"Auntie, you play the violin so well!" Qin Xiaoyu quickly changed the subject.
"I have to thank my little sister for this. If it weren't for her, I probably would never have touched a violin in my life."
Looking out the window, Zhou Xing's mother watched her little sister running wildly on the lawn, a tender feeling appearing in her eyes, as if she saw the figure of another child.
"But why does it sound different from the original piece? Did you make any changes?"
“I rearranged the instrument because my younger sister hasn’t been learning the violin for very long. Although she has a good foundation and talent, she’s still too young. So I shifted the focus to the violin and shortened the parts she played… Oh? Xiaoyu, you know music?” Zhou Xing’s mother was quite impressed with Qin Xiaoyu.
"I don't really understand it, but I just enjoy listening to it. I'm sorry to have made you laugh, Auntie. This is just showing off my limited skills in front of an expert."
"My little sister inherited her musical talent from you. That's amazing!" Zhou Xing's mother looked at Qin Xiaoyu with tenderness in her eyes.
“I don’t know anything. These two children are all being taught by you and Uncle. I don’t know how to express my gratitude.”
“It’s all about fate between people. We’re destined to be with these siblings, so don’t overthink it. Just treat this place as your home from now on.” Zhou Xing’s mother said, standing up and walking outside. “I have to go check on them. I’ve been running around all day. They need some water.”
