Chapter 124 Heart-to-Heart Talk

"That's right, construction requires money. So I asked a few friends to raise some funds, and once these two stores are done, the fourth branch will open. They all have some money on hand, but they don't know what to do with it, so they might as well put it with me to make money."

"Brother, you're amazing! You have a real business mind!" Qin Xiaoyu had always thought Qi Si was a roughneck, but she never expected him to be able to think about financing. He really is a business genius.

"Your brother? Of course he's amazing!" Qi Si's face lit up with pride as he looked at Zhou Xing, flattered by Qin Xiaoyu's praise.

"Don't look at me, I don't have your skills. I'll just be a lazy bum for the rest of my life," Zhou Xing hurriedly waved his hand.

"You can't do that. My sister is a very energetic and capable person. You have to be able to keep up with her to be my brother-in-law."

"Brother, you're wrong about that. You still don't understand your sister. She won't support anyone else, nor will she let anyone support her. No one can stop her from making money. So here's the problem: if both of you are busy, will you have time to live? She likes to be busy, so I'll just watch over her. When she gets tired, she can come back to me to rest for a while before moving on. As for our Zhou family, not to mention anything else, the assets my maternal grandfather left me are enough to last several generations. As for Commander Zhou's family fortune, whether I want it or not is another matter. Since I don't need to make money, I'll just honestly be the man behind her, watching over her, accompanying her, and helping her raise her children. I'm not ambitious; I don't want to go into politics or become a renowned doctor. I'll just be her man. No matter what, if she turns back, I'll be there."

Qin Xiaoyu had never imagined that Zhou Xing thought this way, and she listened blankly, almost to tears.

"Alright! No wonder you were able to win over my sister, I'm impressed!" Qi Si was finally convinced. He knew he couldn't reach that level, and he deserved to lose.

"Don't listen to his nonsense, it's not even close to happening yet." Qin Xiaoyu then remembered to distance herself from him. This Zhou Xing was really capable; he had unknowingly solidified their relationship.

"Girl, this is where I have to say something to you. You're a straightforward person, always decisive in your actions. But when it comes to matters of the heart, don't be indecisive. If it works out, great; if not, so be it. What kind of behavior is this?" Qi Si hit the nail on the head.

"Brother, don't try to trap me behind my back. I've just almost convinced her. What if you put pressure on her and she runs away?" Zhou Xing was scared.

"I'm doing this for your own good. Neither of you understands it yourself, so who are you trying to convince?" Qi Si sighed.

"Big brother is right, Little Fish, give me an answer." Zhou Xing finally understood what Qi Si meant.

"Let me think about it." Qin Xiaoyu bit her lip. She already had the answer in her heart, but taking this step suddenly was a bit too hasty. She would rather wait a little longer.

"Okay, then think about it some more. I'll wait anyway."

As Qin Xiaoyu left Qi Si's shop, she was still pondering.

"What are you thinking about? You're out of your mind. Don't worry about the hospital, I'm here. I'm back, you can relax now," Zhou Xing comforted him.

"I think you men are quite funny. I thought you'd end up fighting," Qin Xiaoyu couldn't help but smile.

"Qi Si is a sensible man. What I give you, he can't. He has a broad mind and genuinely cares for you, wanting you to be happy, so he's just doing you a favor." Men really do understand men.

"You're going to bring me a huge storm," Qin Xiaoyu stopped.

“We’ll share the burden together. Don’t worry, I won’t let go,” Zhou Xing said without hesitation.

"I have to go back to school. I was planning to get a good night's sleep," Qin Xiaoyu said hurriedly as it got late.

“Come to my house. School isn’t a place to rest. Those people are clueless. They all want to see you. They’ll probably come over every now and then.” Zhou Xing pushed Qin Xiaoyu into his car without further ado.

"No, Sister Xiaoyue isn't home. It's just the two of us, it's not convenient," Qin Xiaoyu said anxiously.

"Whether it's convenient or not is up to me. Don't you want to give me a chance?" Zhou Xing said seriously. Qin Xiaoyu hesitated for a moment, then silently got into the car.

This wasn't the first time they'd been alone together, but this time was a little different. Although they were still chatting and laughing, their hearts were in turmoil. To prevent any accidents from happening, Qin Xiaoyu went upstairs to the guest room early.

Qin Xiaoyu slept soundly that night, and when she got into bed around 6 p.m., the sun was already shining brightly outside.

She quickly washed up and ran downstairs. Breakfast was laid out on the dining table. Zhou Xing, wearing a white shirt and green military pants, was sitting on the sofa reading a book. When he saw her come down, he just grinned.

"You just got up too? This porridge is still warm." Qin Xiaoyu was starving, so she sat down at the table and started eating and drinking heartily. The eight-treasure porridge and steamed buns were at the perfect temperature, and the pickled vegetables were just right. This was the life she longed for.

“I get up early, I’m used to getting up early in the army. I reheat this every now and then, just in case you get up at any time.” Zhou Xing put down his book and sat down opposite her, looking at her.

"Reheat it every now and then?" Qin Xiaoyu looked up at Zhou Xing, bewildered, and couldn't quite believe how this famously aloof young master could be so thoughtful.

Zhou Xing smiled without saying a word, and raised his hand to wipe a sesame seed from the corner of Qin Xiaoyu's mouth.

"Time spent away from you is torture."

"Am I good enough for you?" Qin Xiaoyu suddenly felt discouraged.

"It's about whether I'm good enough for you, so I've been trying my best." Zhou Xing pointed to the wall clock, the hour hand pointing to ten o'clock in the morning.

"Oh my god!" Qin Xiaoyu hurriedly drank the porridge and turned to run towards the door. Today it was her turn to accompany Tang Long, and her cousin and his wife couldn't take over the shift if she wasn't there.

Zhou Xing followed her out. The car was right at the door. Qin Xiaoyu smiled gratefully.

"I'm going to the hospital to report for duty anyway."

Despite Zhou Xing's insistence, Qin Xiaoyu got off the bus at the street corner ahead of time. She hadn't returned home all night and was now seen with a strange man in the morning, which was too alarming.

As soon as she entered the corridor, she saw a crowd of people watching the commotion. The noisy ward was Tang Long's room, which gave Qin Xiaoyu a headache.

"Xiaoyu, what should we do! Xiaolong won't let us get a shot, and he won't eat anything. He's on a hunger strike..." The cousin's sister-in-law cried until her eyes were almost closed, and she grabbed Qin Xiaoyu as if she were grasping at the last straw.

"I'll go and try to persuade her," Qin Xiaoyu said, lacking confidence. She couldn't even convince herself.

Who could accept this? A prime age, a bright future, all gone in an instant, and he's lost an eye. To make matters worse, because Tang Long moved around so much, his bones had to be re-set, and the recovery wasn't good; he might still have a slight limp after full recovery.

It was all his own fault, but he was innocent too. If it weren't for that vicious old woman, he would be traveling now, just waiting for his university acceptance letter.

My cousin was still dealing with Tang Long in the hospital room, and a roar like a trapped beast could be heard coming from inside.

Qin Xiaoyu's hand, resting on the door, trembled slightly. She didn't want to face it; she was afraid.

"I'll do it." Qin Xiaoyu felt lighter and moved to the side. Zhou Xing had already changed into a white coat, opened the door, and walked in.

"The patient's family members need to go out for a moment," Zhou Xing said to his cousin.
