Chapter 231 Blockhead Factory Director Fei

However, judging from the tone of Director Fei, she did not realize the problem; she thought it was because the market allocation share was insufficient.

"Director Fei, have you ever thought about switching projects?" Qin Xiaoyu asked tentatively, but Director Fei's face immediately darkened.

"You're not here to buy goods? What are you trying to say?"

"Here's the thing, my store wants to set up a dedicated clothing department and needs to process and customize clothing. If we cooperate with your factory..."

"Forget about it, it's impossible. Our Little Sun Children's Clothing Factory will not change its business. I can't throw away my mother's hard work. If you don't want to buy from us, then please leave." Factory Manager Fei was already telling him to get rid of them.

Qin Xiaoyu couldn't take this; if she did, it would just be sitting in her hands.

However, if the cooperation with the children's clothing factory fails, the next step of the plan will be shelved.

In the 1980s, most women in the family knew how to do needlework, and quite a few were skilled technicians like my cousin-in-law. Moreover, many of them were unemployed.

However, if we were to actually set up a garment factory, not to mention the difficulty in obtaining factory buildings and licenses, the investment in acquiring a new batch of equipment would be considerable.

Considering all that, it's not worth it.

Qin Xiaoyu didn't want to give up easily, so she decided to talk to Director Fei again.

The family's eyes all followed the little sister, but only Zhou Xing noticed Qin Xiaoyu's gloomy face, so he walked over.

"Is things not going well at the garment factory?"

"Ah? Yes, a little." Qin Xiaoyu dared to tell the truth in front of him.

"Would you like me to go with you tomorrow?"

"You? Don't you have to go to work?"

Have I gone to work recently?

"Oh right, you haven't been to work? Are you still on sick leave?" Qin Xiaoyu suddenly remembered that Zhou Xing hadn't gone to the hospital and was staying home as a sick patient.

"I've already resigned, so I don't need to go to the hospital anymore," Zhou Xing said with a smile.

"Why?"

"Work injury".

"Work injury? Apart from being a little mentally challenged, I don't see anything wrong with him." Qin Xiaoyu looked him up and down. Such a healthy person actually wants to not work for the rest of his life and live a mediocre life. She really couldn't agree with it. Was he going to be the young master of the commander's family for the rest of his life?

"Heh, just consider me an idiot then." Zhou Xing wasn't angry. Qin Xiaoyu noticed that the biggest change in him since he came back was that his temper had improved.

"Heh, you're just lucky. You can't compare." Qin Xiaoyu was too lazy to talk to him anymore and got up to leave.

"It's because you look down on it. If you were willing to live such an ordinary life, it would be easy for you to do it too." Zhou Xing's words left Qin Xiaoyu stunned.

"What are you talking about?" Zhou Xing's mother sensed an uneasy atmosphere between them and leaned closer.

"I said I'd take Xiaoyu to the children's clothing factory tomorrow," Zhou Xing said frankly.

“Go ahead, it’s hard enough for Xiaoyu to run around on her own. It’s always better to have a man with her,” Zhou Xing’s mother replied more generously.

"No need, I can manage on my own," Qin Xiaoyu quickly refused.

Familiar music played behind her; the evening news was about to begin. This was probably the moment Qin Xiaoyu was most connected to the 21st century, so she quickly sat down next to Commander Zhou, who was sitting upright.

"The Spring Festival Gala director has come out to apologize," Commander Zhou said, pointing out Qin Xiaoyu's concern.

"It's not that bad."

It has to be said that the 1985 Spring Festival Gala was terrible, but if we have to apologize for that, then we'll probably be busy for the next twenty years.

The next morning, Zhou Xing followed Qin Xiaoyu out like a tail, so Qin Xiaoyu had no choice but to take him along.

"Just don't cause any trouble." As they entered the children's clothing factory, Qin Xiaoyu gave her a word of advice.

"I'm not crazy. If something goes wrong, don't blame me. Silence is golden," Zhou Xing said with a sheepish smile.

"Then why did you come?" Qin Xiaoyu slammed on the brakes, catching Zhou Xing off guard and causing him to shudder. He frowned.

"I'm so bored, I'm just observing the lives of ordinary people, okay?" Zhou Xing said with a wry smile as he jumped out of the car.

The courtyard was bustling with activity, filled with people, some carrying video cameras. A group of people emerged from the factory, led by Factory Director Fei, who was all smiles as she reported to Director Feng.

Qin Xiaoyu hadn't expected to arrive at this time. She wanted to observe the situation quietly, so she stood outside the crowd.

It turned out that the TV station had come to record a program, and that during the holiday, leaders were visiting struggling businesses and distributing subsidies.

All the dialogue was rehearsed, and Qin Xiaoyu got impatient listening to the stilted Mandarin. She turned around and tried to slip away.

Director Feng, with his sharp eyes, had already spotted Qin Xiaoyu and secretly made a gesture to her, forbidding her from leaving.

Qin Xiaoyu had no choice but to wait a while.

The cameras were turned off, but Director Fei continued speaking. Director Feng couldn't help but interrupt her and walked over to Qin Xiaoyu.

"Little Fish, what are you doing here? I heard you opened a shop, are you here to buy goods?" As Director Feng walked over, the crowd automatically made way for him.

"No, Aunt Feng, I'm here to seek cooperation." Qin Xiaoyu had no choice but to tell the truth.

"Cooperation? That's a good thing. You're quick-witted. If we can cooperate with the children's clothing factory, that would be a stroke of good fortune for them." Director Feng had complete approval of Qin Xiaoyu's intelligence.

"As I said, the children's clothing factory was built by my mother and the older generation of female workers with their blood and sweat. It will not be changed, much less cooperated with others." Factory Director Fei was indeed a straightforward person.

"Xiao Fei, I have to criticize you here. You are the factory director, but this factory is collectively owned, not just yours. Don't keep bringing up your mother's past. She made contributions to the children's clothing factory, but that can't stop the wheels of time from turning. You need to reflect on that!" Director Feng said sternly.

"Director Feng, although our factory is under the leadership of the Second Light Industry Bureau, we are collectively owned. How the factory operates can only be decided by a vote of all employees. If everyone doesn't want to change the project, no matter how many notices are issued by the higher-ups, it won't make a difference," Director Fei said neither humbly nor arrogantly.

"We will not change our plans!"

"We must preserve our traditions!"

"Our Little Sun Children's Clothing Factory must persevere!" the employees declared passionately.

The conversation had died down by now, and Director Feng, looking embarrassed, got into the car surrounded by the crowd.

"Little Fish, don't touch the rocks anymore, let's go." These were her last words to Qin Xiaoyu, tinged with a sigh.

Qin Xiaoyu thought the same way. What was frightening was not the system or the backwardness, but the stubbornness of these people. They were not enlightened and did not want to change, and it was useless for others to pry them open.

Zhou Xing was clever enough to pull Qin Xiaoyu into the car. Looking at the current situation, if they didn't hurry up and leave, they would either get beaten up or scolded and wouldn't be able to escape. Why bother?

"Forget it, let's think of another way. This place is too difficult." Zhou Xing shook his head.

"You're backing out so easily? Are you still me, Qin Xiaoyu?" Qin Xiaoyu rolled her eyes at Zhou Xing.

"You've got another mischievous idea up your sleeve, haven't you?" Zhou Xing knew her well.

"You can give it a try. How will you know if you don't try?" Qin Xiaoyu smiled mischievously and turned to Zhou Xing, saying, "This is something you've always wanted to get involved in. Don't blame me for ordering you around."
