Chapter 276 Revisiting an Old haunt

It had been a while since I'd seen him. He'd lost some weight, his naturally curly hair was a bit messy, and his beard, though not cleanly shaved, was a lush, green color that made him even more masculine. His long eyelashes drooped, and his eyes held an indescribable tenderness, weary yet very sexy.

Qin Xiaoyu noticed that he seemed to have many different masks, and today he was going for a romantic look.

“Come on, I’ll take you there.” He turned his head.

"Where are you going? Shouldn't you be in England?" Qin Xiaoyu didn't move.

“Something came up at home, so I came back. Here, take what you wanted, go ahead.” Are waved the keys in his hand.

Qin Xiaoyu glanced at the room number, tears welling up in her eyes, and she quickly bit her lip.

How did you know?

“I know everything.” A Lei shrugged and added, “It’s still better to cooperate with the First Department Store. Xin Xin can wear you down. Get some rest, I won’t bother you anymore.”

Before Qin Xiaoyu could speak, he had already jumped into the jeep and sped away.

Qin Xiaoyu stood there for a while before turning around and entering the guesthouse.

A Lei is an elusive person with powerful energy who gives her a sense of security, but there's always a hint of ambiguity about him, which she doesn't like.

Scorpios prefer to cut things off quickly and decisively.

The hallway was the same as always, and she easily found her room. Her hands trembled slightly as she opened the door, as if she were anticipating something.

All the furnishings remained unchanged, including the enamel basin with the words "Military Region Guesthouse" printed on it; only the people and things had changed.

She collapsed onto the bed, tears streaming down her face.

These past few days, she has been enduring in silence. In the Zhou family, she has no right to cry; she is everyone's support. But here, she is just a widow.

She didn't know how much time had passed when she looked up and saw that it was pitch black outside the window.

Only then did she realize that she was freezing cold. She hadn't eaten anything all day except for that piece of ice.

She slowly got up, hugged her shoulders tightly, trying to stop her whole body from trembling.

Just then, there was a soft knock on the door, and the image of A Lei flashed through her mind.

We can't let him in.

This is the final act of respect for Zhou Xing.

Qin Xiaoyu stubbornly bit her lip, remaining silent.

"Hello, food delivery service." The person knocking at the door for a while seemed to get impatient; it was a female server.

Upon hearing the words "delivery," Qin Xiaoyu felt like she had found a savior and rushed over to open the door. The waitress brought the food cart to her and then turned and left.

The corridor was empty, with no sign of A Lei, but needless to say, he had it delivered by someone else.

The food on the dining car was plentiful, including sticky red bean porridge, crisp side dishes, and a small piece of dark chocolate. She unwrapped the chocolate and found two neat characters in pen: "Eat it."

Qin Xiaoyu couldn't help but laugh through her tears. She put the dark chocolate in her mouth, and a bitter taste came over her. Slowly, she got used to it.

She slept soundly that night, waking up several times in her dreams, vaguely seeing Zhou Xing sitting by her bedside, leaning over the bed, deep in sleep.

Qin Xiaoyu didn't dare to reach out and touch his face, afraid he would wake up. She could only carefully close her eyes and fall asleep contentedly.

The next morning, she was awakened by a knock on the door. She opened the door and the waiter brought in her luggage.

To her surprise, a note was slipped into her hand.

"The hotel bill has been settled. Don't contact Xin Xin anymore."

It's Ah Lei again; he likes to make arrangements for others.

Qin Xiaoyu sat there in a daze for a while. Was she being a bit too eager to approach Jiang Fusheng now? Wouldn't it be difficult to negotiate terms? This A Lei was actually making things worse.

Before she could finish her breakfast, Jiang Fusheng rushed over in a flurry.

"Why did you change locations? I was just saying I'd help you settle your hotel bill. If I hadn't gotten the address from the front desk, I really wouldn't have been able to find you."

"I didn't want to cooperate with Xinxin Department Store anymore, so I moved out." Qin Xiaoyu secretly breathed a sigh of relief and began to act reserved again.

"Was my analysis yesterday spot on?" Jiang Fusheng smiled smugly.

"It's in place, and it's made me realize what it means to compare prices. I'm going to look around some more today. I can't quite accept the two percentage points you reduced."

"I guarantee you, in every shopping mall in the provincial capital, not a single one will give you a prime first-floor location. Not to mention anything else, the first floor is full of food stores. Have you ever seen a clothing store sandwiched between food counters? Only I would dare to do that."

Jiang Fusheng got a little cocky after eliminating a competitor, and even crossed his legs. This is not a good sign; he needs to calm down.

"You're right. I still want to take a look. I need to change my clothes. Thank you." Qin Xiaoyu shooed him out and changed her clothes again. She wasn't wearing dark colors today; she had a premonition that the trip was about to end.

When Qin Xiaoyu came out of the room, Jiang Fusheng's eyes lit up—the look of a man.

She wore a white plaid suit skirt, the white tweed fabric with light, large checks, double-breasted, and with large patch pockets, making her a head-turner on the street.

"Director Qin, I'm curious, how do you manage to be so fashionable?"

"I have the best fashion designer," Qin Xiaoyu said with a smile.

"Is her name Zhou Yue? I've heard of her. But I heard she's not formally trained in acting, how did she manage that?"

“Some things can’t be learned without being exposed to them. Sister Xiaoyue didn’t study fashion design, but she’s been exposed to high-end things since she was a child, which has been the best education for her vision and aesthetic sense.”

"I get it. To put it bluntly, it's all about money. Hehe, Director Qin really has a unique perspective, but I like it." Jiang Fusheng, like a leech, shamelessly accompanied Qin Xiaoyu through the entire shopping street.

"Let's get something to eat." Qin Xiaoyu was a little hungry; she had only had a simple bite of bread for lunch.

"Thank you, Factory Director Qin, for your mercy!" Jiang Fusheng was almost moved to tears.

"Are you tired?" Qin Xiaoyu looked at him with puzzlement. He was wearing a pair of casual shoes, which were very comfortable and much better than her high heels.

"To be honest, don't be angry, but you women are such a strange species. You complain about being tired after doing a little work, saying, 'Oh, I really can't carry it anymore.' But look at shopping! Seven whole hours, seven whole hours, and you only rested for less than ten minutes in between!" Jiang Fusheng climbed onto the dining chair and refused to move an inch.

"Don't you go shopping with your wife? You need to exercise more." Qin Xiaoyu couldn't help but laugh at his words.

"I don't have a wife. If you have to add shopping to the list, then I won't get married, okay?" Jiang Fusheng was truly convinced.

"Okay, I plan to go back tomorrow." Qin Xiaoyu kept everyone in suspense.

"Go back? We're not going to talk about the counter anymore?" Jiang Fusheng immediately sat up straight.

"Yes, the conditions are not suitable. This is not something we can force. Let's discuss it further."

"No! Please give me another chance, considering I've been running around all day with her until my legs are about to give up." Jiang Fusheng was a little dumbfounded. This Factory Director Qin was really not to be underestimated; this little woman was impossible to coax.
