"Auntie, thank you so much for this. From now on, come to me if you need anything. I'll help you. As for Da Cui's matter, she needs to be taught a lesson. Don't worry about the cost; I'll make up for any losses you incur."
“You can just discipline her. It’s my fault for not raising our daughter well, and I admit it. If we don’t teach her a lesson now, she’ll be even worse off later. I support you.” Aunt Cui has very sound values.
Zhou Xing's mother kept insisting that she stay for dinner, but Aunt Cui refused, so Qin Xiaoyu had no choice but to send her away.
Dusk was falling outside. Qin Xiaoyu wanted to see her off, but she refused and just kept groping her way forward.
Looking at her hunched back, Qin Xiaoyu felt both admiration and heartache for the old woman.
She didn't make a fuss about it and acted as if nothing had happened.
Only when no one was in the office did I confide in Xie Lanhua.
"Alas, the farmer and the snake," Xie Lanhua sighed.
Qin Xiaoyu put recruiting new employees on the agenda, just in time for the end of the college entrance examination, when a group of girls who failed the exam faced the problem of employment. The response was enthusiastic, and two new groups were quickly formed.
Despite her busy production schedule, she brought in experienced workers to teach the young girls, who were all quick-witted and learned the ropes very quickly.
Summer vacation arrived in the blink of an eye, and both children were on holiday. This time last year, Commander Zhou and his wife took Hanhan and the others to the beach. This year, they were supposed to have another vacation, but Zhou Xing's mother was worried about Qin Xiaoyu, and after much discussion, they ultimately didn't go.
Qin Xiaoyu cherishes the time she spends with her two children. Whenever she's not too busy, she drives them out for a drive so they can see the benefits of running a business.
Hanhan wasn't very interested in doing business, and her younger sister mainly wanted to eat the desserts from Liunian Xiaozhu. Qin Xiaoyu was a little troubled because neither of her two children followed her example.
As soon as they went upstairs that day, they saw Xiao Si's wife there, eating cake and chatting with Ding Xiaojie. Two nannies were pushing a stroller, watching the lively scene.
"Fourth Sister-in-law is here too, but I didn't see your car." Qin Xiaoyu asked in surprise. A few days ago, she didn't know how Fourth Sister-in-law had managed to make Qi Si happy and bought her a new car. She hadn't seen it in the yard when she came in.
"Your brother won't let me through." Sister-in-law Xiao Si blinked her eyes in grievance.
"Why would he buy it if he doesn't let him drive it? Go ask him for it." Qin Xiaoyu had seen Xiao Si's sister-in-law drive before; she was very steady.
"He said he was worried and would take us wherever we wanted to go, but he just left us here and went to get busy, saying he'd come back to pick us up later. He also said he'd buy us whatever we wanted to eat and wouldn't let me go out on my own. I'm so confused!" Sister-in-law Xiao Si complained bitterly. She said this to Qin Xiaoyu, and it worked.
“That’s true. It’s no fun staying at home every day. I told my brother that we’ll gradually involve you in the business. After all, it’s our family business, and you should learn to manage it.” Qin Xiaoyu had a good idea. Since having a child, Sister-in-law Si’s personality had become much more stable, and she was wholeheartedly devoted to living with Qi Si. In addition, Sister-in-law Si’s mother had also become much more restrained. The whole family could live a good life behind closed doors.
"Oh, Xiaoyu, my mom wasn't wrong, she said you'd definitely speak up for me!" Sister-in-law Xiao Si was so happy that she hugged Qin Xiaoyu tightly.
"What are you doing?" Qi Si strode in and was quite happy to see Xiao Si's wife and Qin Xiaoyu being so affectionate.
"Try this, it's delicious, better than the ones in that shop over there." Sister-in-law Xiao Si flattered him, scooping a spoonful of cake and bringing it to Qi Si's mouth.
"What is this?" Qi Si wanted to push it away, but fearing Qin Xiaoyu would scold him, he could only obediently eat it, refusing to take a second bite.
"Stop fooling around, do you want to go back? I have something to do later, I can't wait for you." Qi Si had a short temper and urged him immediately.
"There aren't many cars on the road right now, and besides, it's common for women to drive these days, so you should give the car to Fourth Sister-in-law," Qin Xiaoyu pleaded on her behalf.
“That’s right, look at Xiaoyu driving around everywhere, and nothing’s wrong with her,” Xiao Si’s wife pleaded.
"Can you compare to Xiaoyu? You'd be lucky to be half as good as her!" Qi Si never cared about Xiao Si's wife's feelings. She pouted but didn't dare to lash out.
"Brother, you're being too tactless with your words. How is my fourth sister-in-law any less than me? She gave birth to a big, healthy son for you, and you still have so many problems every day. Are you even a man?" Qin Xiaoyu didn't give Qi Si a kind word either.
Upon hearing about his chubby son, Qi Si immediately beamed with joy.
"I'm just worried. My precious darling is in the car, and I don't feel comfortable letting her drive."
Qi Si was referring to his two sons, but Xiao Si's wife included herself in the count, causing her cheeks to flush red and her eyes to fill with hearts.
"See, speaking is an art. If you had said that earlier, my sister-in-law would have been happy. Brother, you still have a lot to learn." Qin Xiaoyu said, half praising and half mocking, as she ushered the family downstairs.
"If you need more money to build your house, just come to me," Qi Si whispered as he left.
"I can manage now, but I'll come to you again if I need more." Qin Xiaoyu didn't want to take any more money from him.
The younger sister was in the kitchen the whole time, which gave Qin Xiaoyu time to pull her out. Her head and face were covered in flour, and it took her a long time to clean her up.
"I steamed some buns, take a steamerful home, and give this one to your wife." Her sister-in-law took out two heavy buns. Qin Xiaoyu got into the car with the two children.
Now, Hanhan's grandparents have finally seen the light and treat the two siblings incredibly well. They often send small gifts to the military area to try and get closer to the children, so the two kids are quite happy when they go back.
Children don't hold grudges; they've long since forgotten those terrible years. But Qin Xiaoyu can't do that. Walking into the alley makes her feel suffocated. Fortunately, this place is about to be demolished, and everything will become history and be buried.
As soon as she entered the courtyard, she sensed something was off. Hanhan's grandparents were under the window of the main room, seemingly eavesdropping, and her sister-in-law was also peering into the window from the doorway.
Qin Xiaoyu gestured for the two children not to shout, but it still alerted Hanhan's grandmother, who quickly came over, hugged them, and kissed them repeatedly.
"Why does it sound like my uncle's voice?" Qin Xiaoyu asked in confusion.
"It's him who's back," Grandma Hanhan said softly, leading her into her sister-in-law's room.
"Why is he back? Didn't he say he didn't want this family anymore?" Qin Xiaoyu chuckled.
“He doesn’t want this family, he wants money. Now that the area is being relocated, he’s here to fight for the house,” the sister-in-law said indignantly.
A loud crash seemed to hit something inside the house, followed by the wife's frantic shouts: "Get out! I didn't give birth to such a greedy wretch like you! You're so ungrateful! You abandoned your eighty-year-old mother and left for months without a word. You crippled your wife, and you said you'd take care of her, but you just abandoned her and left! This house isn't yours! If you want it, kill me!"
Upon hearing this, Qin Xiaoyu quickly came out and went into the main room.
My uncle was still kneeling on the ground, and a washbasin had rolled onto the ground, soaking a large area.
"Get out of here, you've made your wife very angry." Qin Xiaoyu glared at him and scolded.
