Chapter 319 Love Needs to Be Spoken

Only Zhou Yue was in the room, still engrossed in operating the sewing machine.

"Don't study too hard, you're not even eating." Qin Xiaoyu put the lunchbox on the table and leaned over to look at it.

Zhou Yue was making a cloth skirt, off-white in color, with a somewhat conservative style that didn't quite match the overall style of Riyue Clothing.

"Wouldn't it look better as a vest?"

"No, we can't wear anything too revealing to school."

"The school? For Xiao Jin?" Qin Xiaoyu suddenly realized.

"When I looked at the child's suitcase, there were no clothes at all. I couldn't find anything decent to buy either, so I decided to make some for him." Zhou Yue bit off a loose thread with her teeth, turned the suitcase over, and continued sewing.

"Sister Xiaoyue, I think..."

“You don’t need to think that I like Brother Deng.” Zhou Yue said frankly.

"Okay." Qin Xiaoyu was momentarily speechless.

"I liked him from the first time I saw him," Zhou Yue said frankly.

"I love your straightforwardness!" Qin Xiaoyu almost shouted.

“Originally, I thought he had a family, and I couldn’t bother him. But now it’s different. I want to be the mother of his child.” Zhou Yue finished sewing all the clothes, picked them up and shook them, then pressed them against Qin Xiaoyu to show her.

Xiao Jin has grown taller recently and is now about the same height as Qin Xiaoyu. Her features resemble Deng Jianyan's; they are very delicate, but her skin is a bit darker.

What are you planning to do?

"Let's talk about it when Brother Deng comes back. He'll be back soon. I called his hospital the other day." Zhou Yue smiled sweetly, a blush creeping onto her face.

"Sister Xiaoyue, I really want you to be happy." Qin Xiaoyu impulsively hugged Zhou Yue.

"I also want you to be happy," Zhou Yue murmured.

The two fell silent.

"Sister Xiaoyue! Your letter!" The accountant barged in without knocking.

"Let me see whose letter it is." Qin Xiaoyu immediately understood that this was not a matter of making a phone call, but clearly a letter sent by messenger.

When Zhou Yue heard that she wanted to see it, she immediately got anxious and jumped up to grab it.

Qin Xiaoyu was quick and grabbed it first, bending over to protect it. Zhou Yue struggled for a long time before finally managing to snatch it, and then disappeared after running away.

The junior accountant was stunned to see them making a scene at the entrance of the station.

"Does Sister Xiaoyue have many letters?"

"One letter every other day, it's been over a month." The junior accountant knew perfectly well what was going on and stuck out her tongue.

"Quick, Xiaoyu! Let's go home, he's back ahead of schedule!" Zhou Yue ran upstairs, grabbed Qin Xiaoyu, and dragged her out of the house.

When they returned home, the house was bustling with activity, and they could hear Commander Zhou's laughter from the doorway.

"You're back just in time. I was just about to call you. Wow, you bought so many groceries. You must be good fortune tellers, right?" Zhou Xing's mother greeted them at the door, chattering away.

"We'll cook, Mom, you come inside." Zhou Yue said, heading towards the kitchen first. As she walked through the living room, she unconsciously glanced at the sofa, knowing he was there, but she didn't dare look directly at him, and slowed her pace.

“Your Brother Deng is right here, why didn’t you say hello?” Commander Zhou was still displeased.

Qin Xiaoyu suppressed a laugh and followed him into the kitchen.

"Little Fish, what are you laughing at?" Zhou Xing's mother sensed something was wrong and followed her in.

"I'm laughing at Sister Xiaoyue," Qin Xiaoyu said, keeping everyone in suspense.

"What's wrong with her now?"

"Her... Mom, we have good news coming soon."

"Hurry up and pick the vegetables, what nonsense are you talking about!" Zhou Yue walked over and pinched Qin Xiaoyu's cheek, making her scream in pain. Zhou Xing's mother quickly pulled them apart.

Commander Zhou also heard the commotion, came over to take a look at the kitchen door, and then went back out.

"Try bullying me again, or I'll tell Mom!" Qin Xiaoyu's face was red from being pinched, and she ran away to the side to threaten Zhou Yue in anger.

"You don't need to tell me, I'll tell you myself. Mom! I'm getting married."

"What?" The egg in Zhou Xing's mother's hand fell directly to the ground, scattering egg white and yolk all over the floor.

Taking advantage of the fact that the children are still in school, we decided to hold a family meeting.

It was clear that Deng Jianyan was somewhat apprehensive; he wasn't ready yet.

“I took the initiative to do this; I like Brother Deng.” Zhou Yue was always straightforward and spoke her mind, disliking beating around the bush. Deng Jianyan glanced nervously at Zhou Xing’s mother.

"What's Xiao Deng's opinion?" Commander Zhou asked immediately.

"I... I'll listen to you," Deng Jianyan said softly.

"What are you talking about? Listen to us? Do you expect us to make all the decisions for you? What's your own opinion? Do you like Sister Xiaoyue or not?" Qin Xiaoyu said anxiously.

"I like it!" Deng Jianyan mustered up the courage to say the word "like," but then she had no more strength left. She shrank back onto the sofa, waiting for judgment.

"Good! From the first moment I saw you, I thought how wonderful it would be if you were my son-in-law. Well, Xiaoyue has finally done something that satisfies me." Commander Zhou slapped the armrest of the sofa.

"Dad, what are you saying! Do you think I'll only do one thing that will satisfy you?" Zhou Yue protested, pouting.

“It’s not just one, there must be at least two.” As soon as Commander Zhou finished speaking, Zhou Yue pounced over and playfully punched Commander Zhou twice.

Qin Xiaoyu moved closer to Zhou Xing's mother and leaned against her. Zhou Xing's mother couldn't hold back her tears.

"Mom, don't you think it's too fast? Zhou Xing, he..." Zhou Yue asked hesitantly.

"Not fast, not fast at all. If Zhou Xing knew you were going to marry Xiao Deng, he'd be overjoyed," Zhou Xing's mother said hastily.

“Yes, Zhou Xing definitely wants his sister to be happy.” Qin Xiaoyu held Zhou Xing’s mother’s hand tightly; they were of one mind at that moment.

"Ugh, what's that smell!" Zhou Yue jumped up and went into the kitchen to save her braised fish.

"I want to postpone the wedding for a while. Xiao Jin's mother just passed away not long ago, and I'm afraid the child won't be able to accept it," Deng Jianyan said only after Zhou Yue was not present.

“Okay, that’s fine. We need to consider the children’s feelings. You two should get along well. Anyway, we support you.” Zhou Xing’s mother nodded understandingly.

"So early today?" The wife had just woken up from her afternoon nap and was stunned to see so many people in the living room.

"Madam, come and sit here. The window over there is open; you just woke up, so don't let the wind blow on you." Zhou Xing's mother considerately pulled her mother inside to sit down.

"Dr. Deng is back." Only then did the wife realize that Deng Jianyan was present.

"Madam looks quite well lately," Deng Jianyan greeted her with a smile.

"The child must be so happy, her father is back. I noticed that Xiao Jin was preoccupied, missing her father but not saying anything, and secretly wiping away tears." The wife was also a meticulous and observant person; nothing escaped her notice.

"When did this happen?" Zhou Xing's mother was startled.

“My room has a south-facing window, you know. I often stand there for a while and look at the scenery outside. The other day, I saw Xiaojin standing under a tree, wiping away tears as she read a letter.” The wife explained it clearly, and Qin Xiaoyu’s heart skipped a beat. This wasn’t about missing her parents; it was clearly puppy love.

It seems that being a stepmother won't be easy for Zhou Yue.

As soon as the children got out of school in the evening, the house immediately became lively. Lisheng and Hanhan had become close friends and always played together. The little sister, who hadn't seen Zhouxing's mother all day, stayed by her side, talking non-stop about school.

Xiao Jin always goes upstairs to her room without saying a word, only coming down to eat, putting down her bowl and then going back upstairs.
