Chapter 329 Fighting at the Head of the Bed

"Open the window! This smell of smoke!" Zhou Yue said as she ran to open the window, and Xiao Jin came over to help.

"Aunt Zhou, what happened to your neck?" Xiao Jin noticed a red mark on Zhou Yue's neck.

"Really?" Zhou Yue rushed into the bathroom, looked in the mirror, and blushed. She quickly covered herself up: "It was a mosquito bite, I scratched it a few times."

I don't know what Zhou Yue did, but on the way home, Deng Jianyan's attitude was unusually good. He was very attentive to Xiao Jin, acting like a loving father, and he wasn't so hostile towards Wang Jian anymore.

After getting off the train, Zhou Yue didn't let Wang Jian leave on his own. She wanted to bring the child home early and take him there first, in case he ran away again.

She called Qin Xiaoyu back and drove them there.

"No need to see me off, I can go back by myself," Wang Jian said softly, looking down.

"Your family wants you to drop out of school, right? I'll talk to them for you and ask them to let you continue your studies." Once Zhou Yue made up her mind, no one could change it.

When the car stopped outside the alley, a group of children gathered around. Among them was Wang Jian's younger brother. When he saw Wang Jian come out of the car, he opened his mouth wide in surprise and immediately ran back to report the news.

"What did he do wrong?" The woman Qin Xiaoyu had seen before came out, her large breasts prominent, and her clothes were soaked with milk.

“He hasn’t done anything wrong, we’d like to talk to his parents.”

"That's me." Wang Jian's stepmother looked at them and said hesitantly, "He hasn't done anything wrong, why are you holding him hostage?"

“We’re not holding him hostage. If it’s convenient for you, we can talk privately.” Qin Xiaoyu and the others realized they were surrounded. For some reason, the people in the dormitory were so free that they had completely surrounded the small courtyard, with even a row of children riding on the wall.

"Let's talk here, wherever there's a private place!" Wang Jian's stepmother went over, lifted the tattered curtain, and then lowered it again.

In that instant of light and electricity flashing, Qin Xiaoyu already knew she couldn't get into the room. To separate the boy and girl, kang beds were built on the north and south sides, curtains were hung on the doors, and only a passageway was left in the middle, making it almost like a prison.

"Did you know that Wang Jian ran away from home to Guangzhou?" Qin Xiaoyu decided to get straight to the point.

"Run away from home? He didn't come back last night?" Wang Jian's stepmother asked suspiciously, as if Qin Xiaoyu was lying.

"You don't even know if he's home or not?" Qin Xiaoyu understood everything. This child was in a situation where he was left to fend for himself.

She glanced at Wang Jian, who was tall but kept his head down, his two fists clenched so tightly they turned white.

"What are your plans for him?" Zhou Yue couldn't hold back any longer and stepped forward to ask.

"What can I do? He's so tall, how can I possibly hit him? I'll wait for his father to come back before I beat him up," the stepmother said innocently.

Qin Xiaoyu and Zhou Yue were dumbfounded. No wonder Wang Jian wouldn't let them send him back. He quietly returned to the team without any problems, but now he's probably going to get a beating.

"Do you want him to drop out of school and start working right now?" Qin Xiaoyu had completely realized that pushing Wang Jian back into this family would be a dead end, and he might end up like Qi Si.

“Yes, they’re so big, but they don’t study well and they eat a lot. It would be better if they went to work and earned some money to help support the family.” Wang Jian’s stepmother looked at the room full of children and was also worried.

"Okay, then I'll take him away, arrange a job for him, and give him his salary every month. Is that alright with you?"

“Great! I was worried about who would give him a job. This is wonderful!” Wang Jian’s stepmother beamed.

Wang Jian looked up at Qin Xiaoyu in surprise, but didn't say anything. No matter how it was handled, it was better to avoid getting beaten up.

Deng Jianyan came with them and remained silent.

Once in the car, he sighed, "Little Fish, what do you want to do?"

"What can we do? Let's send it to Fourth Brother and let him make the arrangements."

"Fourth Brother? What can he possibly do?" Zhou Yue asked, puzzled.

You'll know when you get there.

Qin Xiaoyu recounted Wang Jian's situation, while Qi Si remained silent, smoking the whole time.

"Brother, you should give me some advice." Qin Xiaoyu passed the buck to him.

"Alright, leave the man to me." Qi Si stubbed out his cigarette hard in the ashtray.

Although Zhou Yue was worried, seeing that Qin Xiaoyu didn't ask many questions, she had no choice but to go out with her.

"Let him work at Qi Si's shop? This kid doesn't go to school, he won't amount to much," Zhou Yue muttered.

"Fourth Brother will take care of everything. Wang Jian's experience is similar to his, and he understands the situation. He won't prevent his child from going to school," Qin Xiaoyu said confidently.

Sure enough, at lunch the next day, Zhou Yue casually asked Xiao Jin, "Has Wang Jian gone to school yet?"

Xiao Jin was so frightened that she buried her head and whispered, "I'm going."

"Xiao Jin, I won't say much more about your situation. You know what you're doing. If you want to be with that kid in the future, make sure he gets into a good university. Otherwise, he won't be able to get past me!" Deng Jianyan said sternly, and Commander Zhou nodded approvingly.

Xiao Jin never expected Deng Jianyan to say that. She glanced at him in astonishment, then stole a look at Zhou Yue, blushing and smiling.

She dared not say that she had a truly glamorous day at school.

She was wearing the light orange dress Zhou Yue had chosen. When she left in the morning, Deng Jianyan glanced at her, hesitating to speak. This child had undergone a complete transformation. She used to be dark-skinned, thin, and plain-looking, but now she was practically a fashionable little lady, even her walk was graceful. He wondered what magic Zhou Yue had used.

Actually, Xiao Jin's elopement with Wang Jian wasn't a secret among their classmates. Her return to school after more than ten days startled them all.

When Xiao Jin appeared at the classroom door, the students all looked over, thinking she had come to the wrong door.

It wasn't until she reached her desk and tossed her classmate's backpack back onto her chair that she heard a surprised exclamation: "It's Xiao Jin!"

"Wow!" Exclamations of surprise echoed throughout the classroom.

"Wow!" A louder exclamation followed, accompanied by a girl's scream. Xiao Jin looked up and saw Wang Jian at the door.

In the past, Wang Jian always wore his father's old work clothes to school, regardless of the season. They were greasy and torn in many places.

Today, his hair was short, and his face was unusually clean. He wore a light gray shirt and navy blue suit trousers, and most surprisingly, he was wearing a pair of black leather shoes.

When they were in Guangzhou, Zhou Yue had bought him clothes, but he refused to wear them and had long, messy hair. Now, he had suddenly changed into a completely new look, and Xiao Jin couldn't hide her surprise.

Before entering the school gate, Wang Jian had already made up his mind not to bother Xiao Jin again, so that she could focus on her studies. He could give her so little, so he could only suppress his feelings for her in his heart.

But just like that, face to face, a bright gaze looked over and illuminated his world. How could he refuse? He couldn't help but grin and smile radiantly.
