Chapter 336 A Lei is Jealous

The entire rooftop was several hundred square meters, but there were very few diners; it was quiet and deserted, but it was a good place to talk. They found a seat by the window.

This was already the eighth floor, which was a very tall building back then. Looking out through the hazy glass windows, half the city was spread out below.

“Look, this is a negative example. I’ve also studied their report. I simply can’t understand it. Do they have a grudge against money? Why would they deliberately operate at a loss when they could clearly make a profit? What interests are they protecting?” Lu Di said indignantly.

"It's just pure xenophobia. Look, the employee price is still posted inside. Outside customers are bound to compare it with what they see. If they don't know, fine, but if they know they're being ripped off, who would bother to go there? It's blatant customer rejection." Qin Xiaoyu understood the reason with just one glance.

"Director Qin is truly insightful. I can learn a lot from being with you. Please give me more guidance in the future." Lu Di said earnestly, and Qin Xiaoyu blushed.

Suddenly, a man and a woman entered through the door. The woman was dressed in very trendy clothes, which made Qin Xiaoyu take a few more glances.

It was a black leather jacket that accentuated the woman's perfect figure, making her even more alluring. She wore smoky makeup, not overly heavy, but it still gave her a颓废 (颓废 is a difficult word to translate directly, but it conveys a sense of decadence, apathy, and a lack of refinement) look, suggesting she wasn't a friendly person and wasn't a local.

Qin Xiaoyu was only looking at the styles of the clothes and looked away after she finished. Unexpectedly, a gaze followed her closely, carrying a sense of pressure, determined to make her look up.

She had no choice but to go forward, and was so startled she almost jumped up. It was Ah Lei, her nemesis. Seeing that Qin Xiaoyu had accepted the challenge, he then turned his gaze to Lu Di.

Qin Xiaoyu understood that he had misunderstood, and it didn't matter.

"Director Lu, I've called you here because I have something else to ask of you." Qin Xiaoyu forced herself to explain the situation at the hairdressing school.

"Principal Qin, I'm afraid I can't help you." Lu Di refused outright. Qin Xiaoyu had guessed that he might do this, but he didn't even try to find a way to be tactful. She blushed and lowered her head to eat the dishes in front of her.

"Okay, I'll ask my friends again."

"I hope Director Qin won't get involved in this matter either."

"Oh?" Qin Xiaoyu looked up.

"I've always kept my work and life separate. Director Qin is a woman, and it's inevitable that she'll act on emotion, but you need to consider the consequences. I'm actually glad for you that you've distanced yourself from the hairdressing school; otherwise, it would have been a huge problem for you. Think about it, if one company collapses, the reputation of all your businesses will suffer as a result. It's not worth it. No amount of advertising can bring that back; people's hearts..." Lu Di was truly heartless.

“I understand, you mean well. But I can’t ignore Master Wang’s situation,” Qin Xiaoyu said stubbornly, biting her lip.

"I think you have lofty ambitions, but let me give you a piece of advice: don't let small things cause you to lose big ones. Indecisiveness is a stumbling block to your progress and will eventually ruin you." It was already quite remarkable that Lu Di could say such things; Qin Xiaoyu could sense the coldness he had developed through his experience in officialdom.

"Thank you, but I really can't do that. You haven't experienced those tough times, so you can't understand. Back then, we went through one hurdle after another, clinging to each other and getting through it step by step. So even if it drags me down with me, I can't abandon her." Qin Xiaoyu looked out the window, her eyes stinging.

"Maybe so. During my most difficult time, I was all alone." Lu Di gave a self-deprecating laugh.

Qin Xiaoyu had already sensed the heartache in his eyes at that moment; this was a man with a story. What had made him so cold must have been no small matter.

"Enjoy your meal, both of you." A Lei walked over, casually pulled a chair from the side, placed it on the side of their table, sat down, crossed his arms over the back of the chair, rested his chin on it, and looked at them with a half-smile.

"Who are you?" Lu Di asked, surprised.

"I came to see Xiaoyu. We haven't eaten together for a few days. I just got back from Shanghai." A Lei ignored Lu Di and looked at Qin Xiaoyu with a smile, his tone very affectionate.

"Excuse me, I have important business to discuss with Director Lu." Qin Xiaoyu dismissed him.

"What important matters cannot be discussed in front of others? It is said that revolution is not about wining and dining or giving gifts. If you really want to talk about work, you should do so in the office. It would be against principles to discuss work in a restaurant."

Now, if anyone tells Qin Xiaoyu that A Lei's Chinese isn't good, she'll slap them.

"Really? Then it's just a get-together with friends, okay? We're old friends, can't we have a meal together?" Qin Xiaoyu also got mischievous, wanting him to misunderstand, so she made it clear.

"A get-together." A Lei's expression turned somewhat grim.

"Alxe, what are you doing?" The woman in the leather jacket couldn't hold back any longer and walked over.

"Go back," Are said without turning his head.

"Go back where? I came all the way from Shanghai with you, and you just tell me to go back with a single word?" The woman in the leather jacket looked at A Lei in disbelief.

"Go back wherever you want." A Lei still refused to turn around.

"This lousy place, do you expect me to walk back?!" The woman in the leather jacket had reached her breaking point. Qin Xiaoyu and Lu Di exchanged a glance and secretly prepared to retreat.

"Whatever, just get out of my sight!" A Lei said expressionlessly. Before he could finish speaking, the woman in the leather jacket picked up a bottle next to her and smashed it down on A Lei.

Qin Xiaoyu's scream drew everyone's attention in the restaurant.

The woman in the leather jacket walked towards the door without looking back. A Lei sighed, took out a handkerchief, and wiped the bloodstains from his head.

"You, you should go to the hospital." Qin Xiaoyu was a little afraid of blood and felt weak.

"I can take you there," Lu Di finally showed some compassion.

"No, thank you, Director. I just want her to deliver it." Are pulled Qin Xiaoyu's arm.

Lu Di looked at her, fully expecting her to refuse, but to his surprise, she obediently stood up, apologized to him, and jogged out.

"Why didn't she use more force!" Qin Xiaoyu muttered resentfully.

Qin Xiaoyu couldn't let A Lei drive, even though that was what he thought, she didn't want to go to the hospital with someone whose face was covered in blood.

"Are you hoping I'll die too? I can't die for you. If I die, what do you want to become? A Black Widow? A jinx?" Aree continued his banter.

"Do you believe I'll kick you out of here!" Qin Xiaoyu slammed on the brakes, and A Lei's body lurched forward, aggravating his wound and causing him to wince involuntarily.

"I don't believe you. You can't kick it," Are still joking.

Qin Xiaoyu sighed heavily and drove the car back on the road. She thought that if there was a destined enemy, it would be A Lei.

A Lei needed three stitches in total.

Qin Xiaoyu originally wanted to leave him behind, but the nurse kept asking her to pay money and pick up medicine, as if it were a matter of course. She had no choice but to run around doing these things.
