Chapter 358 The Arrogant Commander Zhou

Standing at the door, she complained that her goddaughter and godson were useless and didn't know to pick her up.

"Godmother, you're just being ridiculous." Qin Xiaoyu was just helping Commander Zhou move the last truckload when she saw her like this, and she was both annoyed and amused.

"How am I crooked? You just don't care about me!" Aunt Wang sat on a leather suitcase, crossed her legs, and swayed her old waist, almost ready to start singing a tune.

"Okay, I'll come help right away." Qin Xiaoyu didn't dare to delay and could only come over to help with her luggage first.

"Wait, the auspicious time hasn't come yet!" Granny Wang took out a pocket watch, squinted at the sun, and stopped Qin Xiaoyu from making a move.

These workers were all pulled from Hengchang by Qin Xiaoyu. After helping out, they had to go back; there were still some things to do there.

She was a little anxious, but given Aunt Wang's temper, who dared to rush her?

"What time is the auspicious hour?" Qi Si also came over. His loud voice startled Commander Zhou, who stomped over with his hands behind his back to watch the excitement.

"There's still half an hour left," Aunt Wang said after calculating with her fingers for a while and muttering to herself.

“It’s taking a while. Why don’t we have the workers take the luggage inside first? Godmother, you can come in at the auspicious time.”

"No, it's a big no-no to send supplies before the troops move!" Aunt Wang waved her hand.

“I say, you’ve got that backwards. An army cannot move until its supplies are ready. How is that a major taboo?” Commander Zhou finally found fault and immediately said.

“You don’t understand. I’m inviting a fairy, you’re leading an army. Can a fairy be the same as an army? If they all listen to you, then they’re not fairies!” Granny Wang was quick-witted and never lost a verbal battle.

"What fairy or not fairy! We need to break down feudal superstitions. What era are we living in?" Commander Zhou rebuked.

"I don't like hearing that. You don't believe in superstitions? Don't you burn paper money for your ancestors during festivals?" Aunt Wang had never been so bluntly criticized before, and she was losing face.

"Burning paper money is just a formality, nothing more than going through the motions," Commander Zhou said softly, having his weakness exposed.

“Old comrade, if you’re an idealist, you won’t believe in anything. But if you believe even a tiny bit, like the size of a fingernail, then you’re not pure!” Aunt Wang pressed on relentlessly.

"Quickly, the auspicious time has arrived, let's move!" Qin Xiaoyu hurriedly joined in the commotion, afraid that they would start arguing.

"Not there yet! Not there yet! There's still one minute and thirty seconds to go!" Aunt Wang protected the things, not allowing them to move.

Commander Zhou had just lost an argument and was still sulking. Taking advantage of their inattention, he grabbed a small bag and slipped it inside, turning back with a smug smile.

"I won't move into the house unless it's an auspicious time! I'm not moving!" Aunt Wang got furious and started jumping up and down, brandishing her arms.

"If you're so capable, then don't move it!" Commander Zhou retorted.

"You old codger, you're tough as nails..."

Qin Xiaoyu quickly gave Qi Si a wink, then went up and covered Wang Da Niang's mouth, supporting her on both sides as she was led inside, afraid that she would say the second half of the sentence, "caused the deaths of two children."

Zhou Yue was also there to meet them, calling out "Daddy" in a sweet voice.

Since Zhou Yue became pregnant, she has regained her former status, and Commander Zhou listens to her every word.

Hearing Zhou Yue call, he hurriedly ran over to hear his daughter's instructions.

Aunt Wang was pragmatic and wouldn't suffer a loss, so she was stubborn but her actions betrayed her. She didn't struggle much and was led upstairs to a room by Qi Si, where she began tidying up the house.

Qin Xiaoyu settled Wang Da Niang down before returning to her own house. She still needed to appease her; if Wang Da Niang got really upset and made a straw doll, causing Commander Zhou a headache and fever, that would be troublesome.

Grandma Hanhan had almost finished tidying up and told Qin Xiaoyu to rest.

Qi Si had originally agreed to have the hotel deliver the food, but Zhou Xing's mother insisted that the whole family make dumplings, saying that it's better to do it yourself when moving, as it's called "burning the stove," and there are specific customs associated with it.

“Feudal superstition.” Commander Zhou had barely uttered those words when a rolling pin appeared in his hand, and Zhou Yue pushed him over to help.

Qin Xiaoyu was busy from morning till night, responding to every call from the four buildings. By evening, she hadn't even had a sip of water.

Everyone was making dumplings in the lobby of Building 4. She went in and rolled up her sleeves to help, but Zhou Yue dragged her to the sofa, pressed her down, peeled an orange, and put it to her lips.

"Sit down, you're exhausted." Zhou Yue is under special protection now, and no one dares to argue with her. Qin Xiaoyu is also so tired that she feels like she's about to fall apart, so she closes her eyes to enjoy a moment of relaxation.

Suddenly, the door opened, and Granny Wang, fully clad in battle armor, stormed in, carrying a shamanic hand drum in her left hand and a yellow paper talisman in her right, and pounced on Commander Zhou with murderous intent.

Commander Zhou was so frightened that he kept backing away. Aunt Wang didn't hold back and raised her hand to press it against his forehead.

"No, no!" Qin Xiaoyu woke up with a start and accidentally shouted out, startling the people making dumplings.

She wiped the cold sweat from her brow. Commander Zhou had already piled up a small mountain of dumpling wrappers in front of him. There was no sign of Granny Wang anywhere.

"Didn't Godmother come?" Qin Xiaoyu asked Qi Si quietly.

"She's playing with the kids over there, she doesn't have time to come over," Qi Si grinned.

"Thank God, I was so scared."

"Who is Baby?" Qi Si looked around.

Qin Xiaoyu glared at him fiercely, then left the bewildered Qi Si there.

After dinner, the elderly went home to rest because they were tired, while the young people stayed to watch TV and chat, just like during the New Year.

Qin Xiaoyu quietly came out of the house. She stood in front of the fountain, looking at the four brightly lit buildings.

One, two, three, four.

This number will continue indefinitely; this is her empire.

"Xiaoyu, why are you out here in this cold?" Qi Si, wearing only a shirt, came out of Building 4 and ran towards Building 3. He saw a dark figure over there, took a closer look, and saw that it was Qin Xiaoyu. He hurried over.

"Brother, hurry inside, don't catch a cold!" Qin Xiaoyu said anxiously.

“Your brother isn’t that dramatic, ah, ah, achoo!” Qi Si sneezed loudly.

Qin Xiaoyu had no choice but to pull him along towards Building No. 3.

What are you spacing out about?

"Brother, do you still remember when we first met?" On nights like this, Qin Xiaoyu couldn't help but feel a little nostalgic.

“I remember, a young woman, all high and mighty. Now I know, there was a reason for that.” Qi Si laughed.

"Brother, we've known each other for two years already, time flies."

"That's right, it's been two years." Qi Si couldn't help but sigh, looking down at Qin Xiaoyu, a sense of melancholy suddenly rising in his heart. No matter how hard he tried, this little woman could only be his sister.

Several families moved in together in a lively atmosphere and quickly settled in, except for Commander Zhou and Granny Wang. Their feud was now firmly established.

Qi Si had been bragging too much, and ended up catching a cold. His wife, Xiao Si's wife, was afraid he'd pass on his illness to the children, so she moved him to Building 4 and forbade him from coming back.

Qin Xiaoyu also noticed the problem. People would inevitably have to walk back and forth, and with the snow, the ground would be slippery, making it inconvenient for the elderly. She planned to contact Captain Chen in the spring to have all four buildings converted into sunlit walkways to make it easier for the elderly to move around.
