Chapter 366 All the best cabbages have been eaten by pigs

She angrily grabbed A-Lei by the tie and led him all the way up to the third floor.

"Alright, I'm not a dog," A Lei said, feeling wronged.

"Who told you to come! Look what you've done!" Qin Xiaoyu kicked out in a fit of anger, but A Lei dodged lightly backward, and Qin Xiaoyu missed her target. She was thrown forward and caught in his arms, preventing her from falling.

"I've come at the wrong time." Qi Si had just walked up to the third floor when he saw this scene, and his expression was not good.

“It’s really not the right time. Absence makes the heart grow fonder…” A Lei was about to continue when Qin Xiaoyu jumped up and covered his mouth.

"Xiaoyu, get down." Qi Si was very serious. Qin Xiaoyu realized the seriousness of the problem. If she angered Qi Si, there would be bloodshed.

"Brother, he just likes to joke around, it's okay, don't be angry," Qin Xiaoyu quickly explained for A Lei.

"Get down." Qi Si said again without even looking at her.

"You can go now. I need to talk to him," A Lei said seriously, his smile fading.

"What are you doing? Don't fight!" Qin Xiaoyu panicked.

"Go down!" This time, both men said it at the same time. Qin Xiaoyu didn't know why, but she obeyed and slunk downstairs.

She stood guard at the stairwell, her mind in turmoil, fearing that if there was any unusual commotion upstairs, she would rush up to break up the fight.

Strangely enough, it was quiet upstairs the whole time. She strained her ears but didn't hear a single word.

Several days later, there was movement on the stairs, with hurried footsteps, indicating that two people were coming down together.

Qi Si walked ahead, his face unharmed, and his expression unreadable.

A Lei was behind him, his face unharmed, and he showed no particular expression.

"Little Fish, you can go back now. I'll take care of the rest of you." Qi Si dismissed them directly.

"Where do I go back to?" Qin Xiaoyu was a little confused.

"Go wherever you want." Qi Si said, then grabbed her coat and bag from the hanger, stuffed them into her arms, and pushed her toward the door. A Lei followed closely behind.

"Brother, what are you doing..." Qin Xiaoyu was unwilling to give up, so she turned around and stopped.

“A Lei is here, you should keep him company.” Qi Si finished speaking, paused, and his voice suddenly choked up. “It feels like I’m marrying off my sister. All the good cabbages have been eaten by pigs.”

"Brother, what nonsense are you talking about? I didn't say I was getting married." Qin Xiaoyu wanted to explain further, but she had already been pushed out the door.

It started snowing again outside, and the strong wind carrying the snow instantly woke her up from the cold.

A Lei quickly snatched the things from her arms, dressed her, then dragged her to the car, stuffed her inside, and closed the car door.

Qin Xiaoyu looked out of the car window and saw Qi Si's figure at the second-floor window. He stood motionless, watching her leave.

"Where are we going? Where are we going?" Qin Xiaoyu suddenly remembered that she was sitting in A Lei's car and immediately became anxious.

"Come to my house, I'll let you get a good night's sleep and rest." A mischievous glint appeared in A Lei's eyes.

"I'm not going!" Qin Xiaoyu grabbed the steering wheel as soon as she got up. A Lei hurriedly steered and stepped on the brakes. The ground was covered with a layer of ice, and the car couldn't stop at all. It spun around a few times, but luckily there were no other cars on the road and no obstacles. It slid for a while and finally stopped.

Qin Xiaoyu knew she had gotten herself into trouble, and her hands and feet went weak with fear. She lowered her head timidly, not daring to look at A Lei or speak.

Just then, she suddenly felt her body tighten as A Lei leaned down and pressed against her, lifting her face and kissing her deeply.

Her mind went blank, and she felt clusters of golden stars floating past her eyes. Her whole body felt inexplicably numb, and she couldn't move at all.

After what seemed like an eternity, A Lei finally released her. He slumped back into the driver's seat, restarted the engine, and drove off as if nothing had happened.

Qin Xiaoyu was speechless, unsure of what to say.

"See? Next time you cause trouble, this is how I'll punish you." With that, A Lei turned the car around and drove towards Qin Xiaoyu's new home.

Even as Qin Xiaoyu stood in front of the building, watching A Lei's car disappear into the snowstorm, she still didn't understand what had happened.

"What are you doing standing here? What's wrong? Who brought you back?" Zhou Xing's mother came out when she heard the commotion. She pulled Qin Xiaoyu into the house and noticed that her complexion was off. She patted the snow off her clothes and asked, "What happened? Are you exhausted? Your face is so red. Do you have a fever?"

"Mom, it's okay, I'm going upstairs to sleep for a while, I'm sleepy." Qin Xiaoyu rushed upstairs and pounced on the bed without even taking off her coat.

She was kissed by Are.

The only thought echoing in Qin Xiaoyu's mind was: Why didn't she resist?

She got up and stared blankly out the window. Had she just accepted A Lei like that?

"Little Fish, I've brought you some milk."

She only realized what was happening when she heard the sound; Zhou Xing's mother had been knocking on the door for ages.

“Your fourth brother just called to ask if you’re home yet. I told him you were, and he stopped talking. When I asked what was wrong, he just said no. Did you two have a fight?” Zhou Xing’s mother asked cautiously.

"No, yes, someone brought me back. My brother was worried about me," Qin Xiaoyu said hesitantly. In her heart, she hated herself for not being able to be straightforward at all.

"Is it someone who likes you?" Zhou Xing's mother was very perceptive and understood immediately.

"Yes, he's the one who rescued me from the detention center last time." Qin Xiaoyu planned to slowly reveal the information to the Zhou family. A Lei was unpredictable, and if he really came to their door one day, it would be too much of a blow to them.

"Is that person very capable? Do you like him?"

"I wouldn't say. He's helped me several times, and I'm quite grateful. But right now, I really can't accept anyone else." Qin Xiaoyu lowered her head.

“I understand, my dear child. You still need to open your heart and try to accept things. You’re so young, having only your parents and children isn’t enough. You need someone to always be by your side. When you get old, when we’re all gone and your children have flown far away, you’ll still need someone to keep you company, won’t you?” Zhou Xing’s mother held her hand and spoke gently.

"Mom..." Qin Xiaoyu leaned in and rested her head on her shoulder.

"Little Fish, I'm telling you the truth. Now that Xiaoyue has married into a good family, I'm relieved. Now that it's just you left, you need to plan your future carefully. Only then can your father and I feel at ease."

"Mom, don't worry, I won't do anything to cause you any trouble." Qin Xiaoyu hugged her, gave her a sweet plea, pushed her to the door, and urged her to go to sleep.

We're all exhausted after a long day, and we didn't sleep well last night. We can't keep going like this.

Around midnight, there was a brief commotion outside as the children and the Tang family returned, driven by Qi Si and Wang Lei. People came and went, some going upstairs, some talking, and others opening doors to peek in – it was unclear whether it was Hanhan or Xiaomei.

Qin Xiaoyu knew all this, but she just couldn't open her eyes. She was so sleepy; she needed to get a good night's sleep.

No matter how much noise the downstairs neighbors made, the red light shining through the curtains in the new house remained unchanged. This was customary; the lights couldn't be turned off on the wedding night.
