Chapter 372 Delivering It to Their Door

"I don't have cigarettes, alcohol, sugar, or tea. I may not have sugar, but I do have good tea."

Zhou Xing's mother suddenly realized what was going on and hurriedly took out two cans of West Lake Longjing tea.

"Is that enough? If not, I can add something else?" Zhou Xing's mother asked anxiously.

"No need, they don't need anything," Qin Xiaoyu said helplessly.

"You're such a sensible child. Is it about whether he needs something or not? What matters is his sincerity. He's someone who's helped you a lot. You can't be so oblivious, can you?" After scolding him, Zhou Xing's mother looked at the door and asked, puzzled, "He's not coming to pick you up? You have to go to his house yourself?"

"It was my own request." Qin Xiaoyu couldn't say the rest of the sentence, because having a car would make it easier to escape; she had learned her lesson the hard way last time because she didn't have one.

She could tell that A Lei had ulterior motives. Bringing her there wasn't just about meeting her great-uncle; he probably wanted to get her into bed.

Sure enough, Lei Bingzheng was nowhere to be seen at the restaurant.

"Aren't you going to explain this to me?" Qin Xiaoyu said with a half-smile.

"I'll ask Grandpa to leave for a moment," A Lei readily admitted.

"It seems his real intention is not what it seems." Qin Xiaoyu tilted her head and stared at him.

“It’s not in the mountains and rivers, it’s in you, this fish.” A Lei even pulled.

"Your Chinese is pretty good," Qin Xiaoyu said sarcastically.

"I still don't understand what it means to be led but not followed, or to be pushed but to retreat." Ah Lei was deliberately bringing up a sore spot.

"I'm not talking to you anymore!" Qin Xiaoyu was speechless for a moment, and angrily stabbed the steak with her fork.

"That's not how it is. I thought a fierce businesswoman like you would prefer a medium-rare steak, with a little bit of blood, to suit you."

As he spoke, A Lei got up and walked to Qin Xiaoyu's side. He bent down, took her hands in his, held one hand with a fork and the other with a knife, and gently cut along the grain of the steak, breaking it apart smoothly.

His head was lowered, his mouth close to Qin Xiaoyu's ear, his voice soft and gentle, with a hint of seduction. Qin Xiaoyu could no longer sit still.

"I will!" She forcefully shook him off, sat up straight, and snatched the knife and fork.

"Your clothes are beautiful, they accentuate your figure, and it's clear you dressed up carefully. You put in a lot of effort to seduce me, thank you very much," A Lei added gloatingly.

Qin Xiaoyu spent a long time choosing clothes before going out, avoiding anything too revealing and anything too conservative.

The light gray woolen skirt suit she wore had no unnecessary embellishments; it simply followed the curves of her figure. Therefore, it demanded a very high level of body shape—gaining even a fraction would make her look too plump, while losing even a fraction would make her look too thin. Fortunately, Qin Xiaoyu was a disciplined person and had managed to maintain her figure very well.

But when A Lei said that, she felt a little guilty. Although she was covered from head to toe, her curves were still fully exposed, which gave her a unique charm. What he said was true; she had put in a lot of effort out of a woman's vanity.

"Do you know what your greatest strength is?" A Lei teased her, seeing her blushing and not daring to look up.

"I'm full of good points, I can't find any!" Qin Xiaoyu could only stubbornly insist.

"You have such a good attitude when you admit your mistakes. You know you're wrong, and you feel guilty. That's so adorable. I've met so many women, but only you have this trait. They're either completely oblivious to the problem, incredibly stupid, or too shrewd, trying to find excuses for themselves once they understand. Only you honestly admit your mistakes and earnestly try to correct them. How are you so outstanding, hmm?" A Lei's words were so sweet that even a woman like Qin Xiaoyu had to admit defeat. "Brother, you're right. As long as you're happy."

"Are you trying to lift me up to the sky only to drop me to my death?" Qin Xiaoyu took a few sips of wine to calm herself down, but then realized she had made a big mistake. She drove here, so why was she drinking?

"What's wrong? Staring blankly at the glass. There's no poison in the drink."

"I know!" Qin Xiaoyu glared at him resentfully and said angrily, "I want tea!"

"You're asking for tea before you've even finished your meal? And if you're drinking tea at this hour, are you not planning to sleep tonight? Are you going to have a showdown until dawn?" A Lei grinned mischievously.

"What does it matter to you whether I sleep or not!" Qin Xiaoyu really wanted to throw the rest of the wine in his face.

But with a slight turn of her body, the world spun before her eyes. Good heavens, she panicked for a moment, forgetting her terrible alcohol tolerance.

She tried to hold on a little longer and go to the bathroom to wash her face. But as soon as she stood up, she collapsed. A Lei couldn't even stand up for a moment before she lay down on the carpet and fell asleep.

This move was amazing; A Lei was speechless.

When Qin Xiaoyu opened her eyes, she felt like she was still dreaming.

It was a dreamlike room, with unevenly woven orange jack-o'-lanterns hanging from the ceiling. The bed was large, and Qin Xiaoyu nestled in the white bedding; everything was so comfortable that she almost fell asleep again.

No! This isn't my home!

Qin Xiaoyu struggled to pull herself out of her dream. She sat up, and after a few minutes of waking up, she remembered what had happened.

A Lei picked her up and left, showing his gentlemanly manners, perhaps out of pride. He was used to women throwing themselves at him; he disdained using underhanded methods.

Now was the best time to leave. Qin Xiaoyu reached out and found her lambskin boots by the bed. She put them on, glanced around, and realized she hadn't brought her coat. It seemed she'd have to go downstairs to look for it.

She tiptoed downstairs. Wall lamps were left on everywhere, the dim lighting giving her the illusion of an adventure.

She finally found the dining room, and sure enough, her coat and bag were there. She was so happy she almost shouted out loud. She took them and then moved towards the door.

"Do you always leave my house this way?" A Lei's voice came from deep within the living room. Qin Xiaoyu was so frightened that her legs went weak and she almost knelt down.

"You scared me to death!" Qin Xiaoyu said angrily.

"Looks like you've recovered your fighting spirit? Let's have a few rounds then." A Lei stood up from the sofa, put the wine glass in his hand on the coffee table. It was obvious that he had drunk a lot of wine, and his eyes were a little red.

"You should get some rest. I'm going home now. Goodnight." Qin Xiaoyu immediately backed down and quickly walked towards the door.

"You can't get out if I don't open the door." A Lei didn't even chase after him.

"Don't be like this. You have your pride too. With your status, what kind of woman can't you have? Why break the rules for me alone?" Qin Xiaoyu decided to use reverse psychology.

“How can I have any pride in front of you?” A Lei smiled bitterly.

"Yes, really, you're amazing. I respect you a lot. Your abilities, your knowledge, your Chinese proficiency..." Qin Xiaoyu desperately searched her mind for his strengths, but regretted it when she mentioned his Chinese proficiency.

"Little woman, what do you want?" A Lei's eyes were tired, and his gaze gently caressed Qin Xiaoyu's face, making her feel a little overwhelmed.
