"She hasn't had many comfortable days in all, and then this happens. She's just unlucky; she's not destined to enjoy life!" Grandma Hanhan started nagging again. Qin Xiaoyu gave her a disgusted look, but she wouldn't shut up.
"If something happens, it's everyone's business, not just you. What do you have to complain about? Without Xiaoyu, could you live in such a big house?" My cousin-in-law couldn't stand it anymore and retorted.
Seeing that everyone was just repeating the same old things and had no constructive suggestions, Qin Xiaoyu simply went to the hospital again.
"Little Fish is here." Commander Zhou was wiping Zhou Xing's mother's hands when she saw her come in, and her eyes immediately reddened as she saw her relative.
"Grandpa, Mom, are you alright?" Qin Xiaoyu walked over quickly.
“I’m fine, it’s just that I’m getting old and a bit useless. You don’t need to worry about me,” Zhou Xing’s mother said apologetically.
"Mom, take good care of yourself. Leave the things outside to me. I'll figure something out."
"Little Fish, actually, as long as our family is together, it doesn't matter where we live. We can live in a bungalow, it's fine." Zhou Xing's mother had already come to terms with it and tried to reassure her.
"It's nothing, it's no big deal," Zhou Yue said as she walked in, her pregnant belly protruding.
"What are you doing here? This place is full of germs. You're heavily pregnant, don't get infected. Go away!" Zhou Xing's mother said anxiously.
"I just came to see you, otherwise I wouldn't feel at ease!" Zhou Yue's due date was approaching, and her nose was red and swollen, making her look terrible. Almost all of her weight was on Deng Jianyan, and she was a little out of breath when she walked.
"Come on, don't worry Mom. Sister, come back with me." Qin Xiaoyu noticed that Zhou Xing's mother's face was slightly flushed and was afraid that her blood pressure was rising again, so she quickly brought Zhou Yue out.
"Sister, don't make things worse." Qin Xiaoyu couldn't help but complain as she got into the car.
"Little Fish, you really scared me today. I've never worried about them much growing up, I never thought that someone as strong as them could faint." Zhou Yue said, on the verge of tears again.
"Don't cry, you'll make your nose stuffy again. It's not a big deal, don't cry, I'm here for you." Deng Jianyan, sitting in the back row, leaned over to hand her a handkerchief and kept comforting her.
"Sister, this is going to be tough. To be honest, we might not be able to keep this house," Qin Xiaoyu gave her a heads-up.
"Why? Didn't Zhou Xing buy the coal mine with his own money? Good will prevail over evil. No matter how many tricks Bai Weiwei tries, she can't win against reason." Zhou Yue was anxious.
"Sister, our land deed is fake. Zhou Xing has been scammed," Qin Xiaoyu said with great difficulty.
"Oh my god!" Zhou Yue exclaimed, then fell silent.
Qin Xiaoyu now suspects that the lawyer was also involved in the fraud, but without evidence, nothing she says will make a difference.
Qin Xiaoyu was exhausted from running around all day, but she still couldn't sleep.
At midnight, she slipped down from the building, stood in front of the fountain, and looked at the four buildings.
The once brightly lit house suddenly became lifeless. Half of the exquisite grape trellis had collapsed, and no one bothered to repair it; it was left there as if it were about to be abandoned.
She originally thought that if she kept working hard, she could bring her family together and live a happy life, but now she realizes that she was wrong.
There are many things in this world that she cannot control. So what if she transmigrated? Her power is too weak; she can't change anything.
The thought that bulldozers would destroy these houses in a few days made her heart bleed.
As soon as the door opened, a small figure walked out of the building.
"Mom, is that you?"
"Hanhan, why aren't you asleep?" Qin Xiaoyu hurried over, put her arm around Hanhan's shoulder and led her into the house. The child has grown taller again.
"I saw you come out of the window. Mom, are you very sad?"
"A little, what about you?" Qin Xiaoyu pulled Hanhan to sit on the sofa.
"Me? I'm fine." Unlike the adults in her family, Hanhan didn't seem to have suffered a great blow.
"Don't you think it's a pity to move out of here?" Qin Xiaoyu suddenly realized that she no longer understood Hanhan's thoughts.
"Mom, isn't it strange? We've moved to bigger and bigger houses, from our old bungalow to Grandpa Zhou's villa, and now here. But my favorite place is still our little home." Hanhan said with a touch of sadness, her eyes blinking and glistening with tears.
"Why? I don't like our little home. It's dilapidated, old, and pitifully small."
"Because it was small, our family was always together. We could see each other whenever we looked up. How happy we were!" Hanhan was immersed in her memories, her face full of happiness.
"I understand!" Qin Xiaoyu's heart skipped a beat; she understood Hanhan's thoughts. It had nothing to do with the size of the house; it was that their hearts were too far apart.
In her busyness, she lost her son. Like A Lei, Hanhan is getting further and further away from her as she waits.
She wants to find not only A Lei, but also Han Han and her little sister.
"I still remember the porridge you cooked. It was thin on top and thick at the bottom, with bits of mushy bits." Qin Xiaoyu recalled the time when she had just been reborn, when Hanhan was her everything.
"Mom was a really good fighter back then. She rushed out with a kitchen knife and scared Tang Hu so much he peed his pants," Hanhan laughed.
"You have no idea how scared my little sister and I were when you got lost..."
"When I was on the farm, I always thought I would never see you again, and I would always cry secretly..."
Qin Xiaoyu didn't go back upstairs immediately, nor did she urge Hanhan. The mother and daughter simply reminisced about the past, sometimes crying and sometimes laughing.
As dawn broke, Qin Xiaoyu reluctantly urged Hanhan, "Go take a nap, you have to go to school during the day."
"Mom, I'm so happy." Hanhan walked over, and Qin Xiaoyu opened her arms and hugged her son tightly. How could she not be happy? It was a wonderful feeling to have something lost and then found again.
"You didn't sleep all night, did you?" Deng Jianyan came downstairs dejectedly and was startled to see Qin Xiaoyu sitting on the sofa.
"More or less. Is your brother-in-law also feeling hot?"
"Me? I've been through a lot, it would be a lie to say I'm not angry, but I'm not exactly desperate either." Deng Jianyan sat opposite her.
"This is a tricky matter. Just take good care of my sister."
“Little Fish, let me be frank with you today. I'm not a very capable person. People say a wife, kids, and a warm bed are all I need, and that's what I'm like. My situation is the same as marrying into the Zhou family. If the Zhou family has problems, it's like my problems are my problems. You might think I don't care about anything, but I'm not stupid. Go out and do your best to save the house. If you can't, don't worry. I can't guarantee anything else, but I can handle the burden of the Zhou family and my family.”
Qin Xiaoyu almost burst into tears upon hearing this. Zhou Yue had excellent judgment; she hadn't misjudged him.
"Don't just stand there spacing out, go upstairs and take a nap. Your mind will be clearer during the day." Deng Jianyan got up and walked out.
"Brother-in-law, where are you going so early in the morning?"
“Your sister is so fussy. She only wants to eat sesame seed cakes and tofu pudding. I have to get up early to queue up.” Deng Jianyan sighed and walked out the door.
