Chapter 512 The Final Test

A giant, colorful ball hangs in the dance floor, radiating light.

Qin Xiaoyu had learned some dance moves from her classmates in her previous life, and she knew a little bit about ghost dance, which was enough for this situation. She was already pretty and cute, and with her light and graceful dance moves, she immediately attracted everyone's attention.

She quickly became the center of attention, surrounded by a group of men cheering her on.

Fang Baobao exuded a strong, assertive aura, constantly circling around her and preventing any man from getting close.

With her outfit, no one would dare to mess with her.

After the song ended, Qin Xiaoyu had a few beads of sweat on her nose. She refused to dance anymore and returned to her seat, where she saw her older sister drinking alone.

Aren't you going to jump?

"No, I came with you. I'm too old." The older sister lit a cigarette and then popped another one out of the pack and handed it to Qin Xiaoyu.

"Thank you, I won't."

"It's good that it doesn't." The older woman elegantly exhaled a smoke ring.

Qin Xiaoyu doesn't like smoking, but she can't deny that some women look very sexy with a thin cigarette in their mouths, and her older sister is one of them.

"You're lucky to have passed today's exam." The older woman flicked her cigarette ash, tilted her head, and looked at Qin Xiaoyu with a half-smile.

"Thank goodness, I finally managed to squeeze out a water mochi. I also want to thank you for your help."

"You think making a dessert is like taking an exam?" The older sister was amused by her.

"What else?" Qin Xiaoyu then realized that things were not as simple as she had imagined.

“You passed three tests today. Also, don’t blame the baby. She didn’t mean to hurt you. How could she dare to make such a low-level mistake in front of Grandma?”

Qin Xiaoyu suddenly realized that Fang Baobao had not miscounted the guests; it was at Madam Fang's behest.

"Next, we'll test your adaptability, and you didn't perform particularly well in this round. However, it inadvertently revealed your social skills, which is quite interesting. In the Fang family, no one proactively helps others unless there's a mutually beneficial relationship. But you received help from others, which is your greatest success." At this point, the eldest sister's words were clear to Qin Xiaoyu, who was already quite astute.

"Your son asked for ten pounds from me." The third sister also returned, sat heavily next to Qin Xiaoyu, and pointed at the eldest sister.

It turns out that the mischievous boy from the eldest sister's family didn't accidentally bump into her; it was arranged by the third sister.

If that's the case, then Miranda suddenly coming to provoke us...

“You’re very clever. Miranda came in with a purpose, but I’m not sure if she’s here to help you. Who knows?” The older sister smiled at Qin Xiaoyu.

"And you confronted those pretentious old women; Grandma must be secretly thrilled. They're all all smiles on the surface but not on the inside. They've been best friends for decades; how can I describe it..." Third Sister couldn't find the right Chinese.

"Plastic sisterhood?"

"Wow, perfect! You're amazing, little one. No wonder you were able to subdue A Lei, you're really capable." Third Sister was excited and hugged Qin Xiaoyu, giving her a big kiss on the cheek.

"Living in a big family is so difficult," Qin Xiaoyu said truthfully.

"You know that's good. Take Alex and go as far as you can."

"But I don't understand. Alex and I have reached the point of discussing marriage. If I fail to pass the test, will Grandma still try to break us up?"

"She has the ability to bring you together, and she also has the ability to break you up. What's so strange about that? In the history of the Fang family, there have been cases of couples breaking up at their engagement banquets," the eldest sister said dismissively.

Qin Xiaoyu felt that coming to this bachelorette party was the right decision. She gained a better understanding of Mrs. Fang, and besides, the combination of cigarettes, alcohol, and dancing was probably another test.

On the way home, only Qin Xiaoyu remained sober.

“I’ve been waiting for you. What did Third Sister do to you?” Arel pulled Qin Xiaoyu close and vigorously wiped her face with a handkerchief.

"How did you know it was Third Sister?" Qin Xiaoyu asked curiously.

“Lipstick color, sigh, sometimes you’re really silly.” Are sighed.

Qin Xiaoyu saw him take out a huge box and place it on the flat table, and curiously went over to it.

"Is this for me?"

“Yes, it’s a gift for you, something you’ve always said you wanted.” A Lei opened the box.

Qin Xiaoyu stared in surprise at the large, dark box. She tried to pick it up, but it was too heavy.

"A mobile phone. Happy?" Are you?

"Do mobile phones still look like this now?" Qin Xiaoyu groaned in pain, lamenting how slow the pace of technological progress was.

She certainly wouldn't use it. First, there's no internet in China yet. Second, it's quite heavy and difficult for her to carry; it weighs several kilograms, and it wouldn't be fun if it fell on her foot.

"Don't like it? How about this?" A Lei took out another treasure.

"A pager?"

"You know quite a lot, but I'm afraid even if you take this back to Northeast China, you won't be able to get it. Currently, it can only be used in Shanghai and Guangzhou."

"Mom, I'm back! What's this?" Hanhan and Commander Zhou entered the house one after the other and rushed over when they saw the box.

“Your mother doesn’t like it, but you can take it and play with it.” A Lei was always generous.

Hanhan couldn't wait to start researching.

A Lei had no choice but to sit beside him and answer his questions one by one. Qin Xiaoyu had wanted to stay with him for a while, but her eyelids started to droop as soon as she sat on the sofa; she was exhausted from the day.

"Go upstairs to sleep," Are said reluctantly.

Qin Xiaoyu slept soundly that night, dreaming of visiting many places where large, fragrant flowers bloomed, almost like a fairyland. When she woke up in the morning, Mo Ming felt wonderful.

Although her older sister said something so frightening yesterday, mentioning that engagement parties can be broken up, she firmly believes that it won't be her.

Mrs. Fang was not present at breakfast, but Miranda was.

How did they manage to work so well together? Are they on duty?

"Sister-in-law, I'll take you to get your hair done." Tang Wenwen didn't go out either.

"My hair, I..." Before Qin Xiaoyu could finish speaking, A Lei shot her a murderous glare.

"Don't even think about carrying a plate out again, or my grandma will kill you."

“Her little plates are so cute, I want some too,” the third sister said immediately.

Miranda glanced up at Qin Xiaoyu, then quickly looked away.

Qin Xiaoyu was kidnapped by Tang Wenwen and taken to the largest barbershop in Shanghai.

She's been so busy lately that she hasn't taken care of her hair. It's already waist-length and hangs down in a thick, black clump, like a piece of black satin.

The hairdresser held Qin Xiaoyu's long hair in his hands, a little excited.

"This is virgin hair, never permed or dyed. Come and look at the hair quality." The hairdresser called the students over, and they lined up to touch Qin Xiaoyu's hair. A Lei, who was sitting in the back waiting, looked a little off.

"Stop! Let's not discuss hair type yet, let's talk about what hairstyle we want first," Tang Wenwen quickly reminded the hairdresser, sensing the situation was getting out of hand.

"To match a formal dress, of course, it has to be an updo." The hairdresser picked up a magazine from the table, flipped through a few pages quickly, opened a book, and pressed it into Qin Xiaoyu's arms.

"No way!" Qin Xiaoyu jumped up and shouted.
