Chapter 557 The Night Before the Wedding

"You guys should hurry up, there are still children here," Zhou Yue coughed to remind them.

Qin Xiaoyu quickly crawled out of A Lei's arms and saw two children, Xiao Jin and Wang Jian, who were taller than her, following behind Zhou Yue.

Qin Xiaoyu was reluctant to have Xiao Jin as her bridesmaid.

"Xiao Jin is too tall. Look at A Lei, he's already very tall. Wang Jian, the best man, is also very tall. Xiao Jin is a head taller than me. You guys are bullying me!" Qin Xiaoyu stood on tiptoe and argued with them.

"Little Fish, I'm not trying to be mean, but tell me, besides your little sister, is there anyone shorter than you?" Zhou Yue said with a mournful face.

"Mom, my sister is bullying me!" Qin Xiaoyu could no longer bear it.

"High! What's the use of being high? Can a tall telephone pole be eaten?" Commander Zhou objected, loudly supporting Qin Xiaoyu.

"Anyway, I don't care. If you dare not use my daughter as a bridesmaid, we're breaking up." Zhou Yue also lost her temper.

And so, poor Qin Xiaoyu was sandwiched between three tall guys, looking like an innocent rag doll, which was incredibly cute.

Because he was going to have another wedding in Shanghai, none of A Lei's relatives attended except for his third sister.

The third sister was bored and came to watch the fun. As soon as she saw Qin Xiaoyu, she insisted on being her bridesmaid.

Qin Xiaoyu looked at A Lei with resentful eyes, without saying a word.

"Why? Little thing, don't you like me anymore? You don't want me to be your bridesmaid!" The third sister, with her straightforward and outspoken nature, immediately spoke her mind, her eyes filled with a pitiful look.

"If you like it, come on over." What else could Qin Xiaoyu say?

Wang Lei felt that since there were already two bridesmaids, there couldn't be an empty groomsman, so he thought of finding someone else to fill in.

In northern China, it is customary for bridesmaids and groomsmen to be unmarried, so there are some restrictions.

"Tang Hu is much more sensible now, why don't we let him go?" Tang Hu's mother timidly pushed him forward.

Qin Xiaoyu glanced resentfully at Tang Hu, who was 1.85 meters tall and weighed 180 pounds. What could she say? They were both tall anyway, so one more wouldn't make a difference.

The basic procedures were all followed, and the most important part was the father escorting his daughter into the venue. Qin Xiaoyu had already made arrangements, and Commander Zhou was the most suitable candidate.

But during the rehearsal, Commander Zhou suddenly pushed Qi Si over.

"Go see your sister off." Commander Zhou put Qin Xiaoyu's arm on Qi Si's arm.

"Big Brother?" Qin Xiaoyu and Qi Si exclaimed in unison.

"Big brother, you don't need to give it to me. I've already thought it through. As long as the girl is happy, that's all that matters. I'm a grown man, why should I be so sentimental?" Qi Si chuckled and scratched his head.

“You’re the most suitable one.” Commander Zhou smiled slightly and said softly, “For our Zhou family, Xiaoyu has never been a daughter, but always a daughter-in-law.”

Qin Xiaoyu bit her lip hard to stop the tears from falling.

"What nonsense are you talking about? It's a good day for the child, don't let the child cry," Zhou Xing's mother scolded, but secretly turned away and wiped away her tears.

Qi Si stopped making excuses, took Qin Xiaoyu's arm, and walked step by step toward A Lei, as solemnly as if he were guarding the most precious treasure in the world.

Third Sister is the sole representative of the Lei family, so of course she should be taken seriously. Despite Lei's objections, Qin Xiaoyu took her on a tour around the area.

She was very interested in Qin Xiaoyu's factory.

"You heard about Miranda's comments?" the third sister asked curiously.

"I've heard about it."

"Grandma said what she said makes a lot of sense," the third sister sighed.

"The old man has a sharp eye; he probably figured it out a long time ago," Qin Xiaoyu said with a wry smile.

"So what do you plan to do?"

"If you haven't done it well, then try your best to do it well," Qin Xiaoyu said nonchalantly.

“Little one, there’s a quality in your personality that our family lacks the most, and that’s probably what Alex likes about you.” The third sister seemed to have a realization.

What is it?

"Vitality, it seems, isn't all of that. I can't quite put my finger on it, it's more like a kind of vitality. You always have an upward force, optimism, like a flame, which makes others unconsciously stand on your side."

Qin Xiaoyu agreed with this point. People who have the chance to live again probably all have this kind of vigorous vitality. It is a kind of power that lives towards death, and it would be a waste not to use it.

On the first day of the wedding, A Lei did not sleep at home because, according to custom, he could not see Xiao Yu. So he slept at Lei Bingzheng's house and would drive to pick him up the next morning.

Worried that Qin Xiaoyu would have trouble sleeping, Zhou Xing's mother specially prepared milk and brought it up to her. She then had Qin Xiaoyu lie on her lap and massaged her temples with her hands.

"Mom, you should go to bed early. You'll be very tired tomorrow."

“I’m fine. You just need to be careful. If you’re tired, just say so. We’re all family, so don’t worry,” Zhou Xing’s mother told her.

"Mom, please remind Aunt Wang again that there are two red envelopes in this room. Don't forget to bring them over." Qin Xiaoyu reminded her again, leaving the matter to Zhou Xing's mother so she wouldn't have to worry.

"I know, what are they?" Zhou Xing's mother also saw the two red bundles.

"Wenwen sent it." Qin Xiaoyu blushed.

"What treasure is it? Let me see." Zhou Xing's mother was curious and, before Qin Xiaoyu could stop her, reached out and took it. After opening it, her face turned red.

Tang Wenwen sent over several sets of sexy pajamas.

These few feathers and pieces of gauze are clothes? The world has really changed.

"Go to sleep, we have to get up early tomorrow."

The auspicious time calculated by Aunt Wang was 6:58 AM, which was a bit early for the wedding procession.

Qin Xiaoyu still couldn't sleep, the past flashing before her eyes like a movie. Three years after her rebirth, her life had become even more dramatic than her original 25 years.

Life is full of ups and downs, and so is one's career. My career is about to hit a low point, but my relationship has gotten back on track.

She's finally getting married, to another outstanding man. Heaven hasn't let her down.

It seems that heaven favors those who work hard; her efforts are always recognized.

She tossed and turned in bed, sometimes thinking and sometimes dozing off, and before she knew it, she heard the rooster crowing at dawn; it was already daylight.

Zhou Yue and Xiao Jin arrived early to help her with her hair.

"What have you been doing all night?" Zhou Yue scolded her as she combed her long hair, which had been straightened at Master Wang's, making it a bit messy.

Fortunately, today's hairstyle was an updo, so Qin Xiaoyu did it herself with Xiao Jin's help. They styled a traditional bun and added a veil, which made Qin Xiaoyu's baby face look even more adorable.

"Why do I remember going for a mature look?" Zhou Yue looked him up and down, a little puzzled.

"My aunt is half-cooked." Xiao Jin's opinion amused Qin Xiaoyu. Half-cooked, and it's even cheesy.

What does "half-cooked" mean?

"In some aspects, like doing business and interpersonal relationships, she is very mature. But in other aspects, like things that others can do, she just can't, which is adorably silly."

"Am I weak in life? How could that be? Back in the day, I was raising two children on my own..."

"It's all Hanhan taking care of you, isn't it?" Zhou Yue sneered. Qin Xiaoyu felt resentful, but why didn't she dare to refute it?
