Chapter 564 It's Not Just Love That's Evenly Matched

Qin Xiaoyu always felt that a cat's soul lived in her body, a little wildcat.

She pounced on A Lei like a fierce little beast, and his eyes burned as they fought.

So, we're evenly matched? Then we need to be evenly matched in every single thing and every step.

Qin Xiaoyu started learning late, but she is intelligent.

Her happiest moments were when she held A Lei's earlobe in her mouth and listened to him roar.

They need to tame each other. That's what makes life interesting, isn't it?

When A Lei suggested a nighttime cruise on Tianhu Lake, Qin Xiaoyu was reluctant. "So many mosquitoes! Aren't you afraid of being bitten, bro?"

But when she stood on the rooftop of the small building by the lake, with a full and magnificent moon hanging overhead, and the vast expanse of blue water before her eyes, with the night breeze carrying the fragrance of flowers, and the world so quiet that only their breathing could be heard, she only wanted to say three words.

I love you.

If we were to add two more words, it would be: forever.

She tiptoed and met his kiss; his tongue made her feel hot all over.

Even through the thin fabric of his clothes, she could already feel his body temperature.

When he picked her up, her mind went blank. Suddenly, she was on the stone table. A chill ran through her, and before she could even frown, he had already rolled over.

She leaned shyly against him.

“Today you are my queen,” he whispered in her ear.

Poor A Lei, he only stayed at the hot springs for three days before Qin Xiaoyu started clamoring to go back to Guangzhou. Looking at the shop now, it's basically finished.

The goods from their hometown have arrived. Factory Director Fei and Cheng Fuyue have ironed all the sample garments and hung them on the mannequins.

"You don't look like a local." A dark-skinned, thin man approached, speaking in Mandarin. Someone who speaks Mandarin so fluently couldn't possibly be from Guangdong.

“You’re not a local either,” Qin Xiaoyu chimed in.

"I'm from Beijing, and my shop is right next door. My name is Zhu Xu." The man said, taking out a business card. Qin Xiaoyu took it with both hands. It read: Xuri Clothing.

"It's quite a coincidence," Qin Xiaoyu said with a smile.

She followed Zhu Xu to the store for a look around; his store mainly sold cotton and linen clothing. In a place like Guangzhou, cotton and linen are the first choice for people who want comfort.

"How are sales?" Qin Xiaoyu wanted to find out.

"Not good. It's strange that this place can't beat the locals." Zhu Xu shook his head.

"Do you also have your own factory?" Qin Xiaoyu noticed that he ran his own brand and asked curiously.

“There’s a garment factory that my wife runs. I’ve been here for three years, and she’s always been the one supplying the goods from home, while I sell them here.” Zhu Xu said, gesturing towards the wall where a poster was hanging, featuring a slightly plump woman in a linen dress.

To be honest, the design of this dress is even worse than that of the Riyue Clothing brand. It's made of fine linen, embroidered with large flowers. Flowers mean there's fusible interlining, which means it's not breathable, and people wear linen precisely because it's breathable.

In addition, the fabric wrinkles easily, and the embroidered areas quickly become wrinkled and creased, which is not very appealing.

Qin Xiaoyu observed for a long time without saying a word. Zhu Xu had traveled extensively and had long since developed the ability to judge people. He had already noticed that this young woman was quite shrewd in Qin Xiaoyu's shop, and now he was like a mind reader, eager to dig out her true feelings.

“Just tell me what you’re thinking. Sales have been getting worse lately. If you have any brilliant ideas, give me a few tips. We can share what we have, and I’ll let you know if I can.” Zhu Xu said sincerely.

“The idea is good, but the embroidery is a bit redundant. I think the locals prefer simple styles. Why don’t you design a few simple and elegant ones? Without embroidery, you can save costs and lower the price of the clothes. Why not?”

Qin Xiaoyu was an honest person, and unable to refuse, she told him her thoughts, though she held back a little.

"Wow, you're amazing, girl. Everything you said is right and makes sense. I'll write it down." Zhu Xu was extremely grateful and wouldn't let go of Qin Xiaoyu, talking until it was almost dark.

Over there, A Lei was already burning with impatience. When he finally saw Qin Xiaoyu return, he rushed over to greet her.

"Zhu Xu treated us to dinner, along with a few other business owners, so we could chat," Qin Xiaoyu explained.

"No way! What do you want to eat? Why should he pay for it!" A Lei was already getting angry.

"Yes, you have to support my work." Qin Xiaoyu raised her little face, blinked her big eyes, and tried to look cute at him.

"Okay, I won't eat with you guys. I'll wait in the car." A Lei was powerless against her charm.

"Then go back to the hotel and wait for me. I'll call a taxi back."

Guangzhou was full of red taxis, mostly Toyota Crowns and Volvos; at that time, Japanese cars dominated the market.

"I'm not at ease. I don't trust you at all right now. Don't worry about me. I'll listen to music and sleep in the car." A Lei insisted, and Qin Xiaoyu had no choice.

I can understand why A Lei is like this. It's not that he's overly nervous, it's that Qin Xiaoyu is too unreliable.

Zhu Xu didn't have a car, only a small electric scooter. He led the way on his scooter, while A Lei followed behind in his car. After winding around a few times, they arrived at a secluded restaurant that, judging from its appearance, specialized in Hakka cuisine.

Qin Xiaoyu has been eating out a lot lately, and she quite likes Hakka cuisine. The flavors aren't too strong, which suits her.

"Isn't your boyfriend coming up?" For some reason, Zhu Xu just couldn't believe that A Lei was Qin Xiaoyu's husband.

"He's willing to wait downstairs." Qin Xiaoyu didn't want to explain further and just smiled.

Indeed, when living with the Zhou family in the North, A Lei didn't feel any inconvenience. That's because the Zhou family weren't exactly petty bourgeois; they were all educated, so they could share common ground. As for people like Qi Si, it was all about genuine personalities, nothing else mattered.

But Ah Lei really couldn't bring himself to lower himself around these small business owners. Qin Xiaoyu, on the other hand, felt right at home; she felt like she had found her people.

Several people, both men and women, were already waiting inside. Qin Xiaoyu entered the private room, and before she could even see who it was, a woman threw herself into her arms.

"What a coincidence!" Ye Qiu said with a smile.

"It's Sister Ye." After two days of assimilation, they had become quite familiar with each other.

"Xiao Zhu said there's a new young boss here, a nice guy, let's have a meal together. I guessed it was you, and sure enough," Ye Qiu recounted her encounter with Qin Xiaoyu in Conghua.

Qin Xiaoyu was surprised to find that even Ye Qiu did not agree that A Lei and she were a couple. Why did she look like a kept mistress?
