Chapter 590 A Life Free and Unfettered

Qin Xiaoyu and A Lei both blushed, covered themselves with blankets, and started giggling.

This life is so damn exciting! We're a lawfully wedded couple, but it's like we're having an affair.

A Lei felt that marrying a woman like her was a guarantee of a love for life. She could single-handedly make what would otherwise be a peaceful life exciting and thrilling.

He must have struck gold.

Qin Xiaoyu peeked out from his arms, took a few quick breaths, and her face was already burning hot.

This is a great way to keep warm; it's not cold at all now.

The next day when they went out, they wore hats and wrapped themselves in several thick scarves, acting furtively.

The waiters glared at us fiercely in the hallway, as if we were thieves.

Once outside the guesthouse, they removed their masks and burst into laughter.

Winter in Northeast China is cold and bleak; the trees seem lifeless, withered and powerless.

The streets were deserted, and the two of them were the only ones with vitality. Their laughter attracted people to stop and watch. Although the onlookers did not know what they were laughing about, they unconsciously showed a smile like that of an aunt.

Love is a good thing.

A man pushed a tricycle over, pulling a large iron barrel on it. The aroma of roasted sweet potatoes wafted out, and A Lei couldn't move.

The biggest benefit of this trip was that it broadened A Lei's food horizons. This guy was so picky about food abroad, refusing to eat this or that, but Qin Xiaoyu has taken care of everything perfectly.

He was so drawn to the aroma that he couldn't resist trying it; he really was eager to give it a go.

Qin Xiaoyu wasn't particularly interested in roasted sweet potatoes, but seeing that he wanted some, she bought one for him. The two of them peeled the sweet potato, took a bite each, and ate it as they walked into the clothing factory.

Master Liang quickly sent over several new design drawings. Although not entirely satisfactory, they were still better than the originals. Master Liang's few words on the phone amused Qin Xiaoyu.

He said, "Having gotten used to the rough and sloppy style of the North, I suddenly saw the delicate charm of the South and realized that the clothes designed for the South are completely different."

Qin Xiaoyu felt that he was about to have an epiphany, but he was still missing something, though she didn't know what it was yet.

Under her personal supervision, the new fashion line went into production, and the finished product was surprisingly good. She shipped it to Shanghai as quickly as possible.

Qin Xiaoye was extremely anxious. Although someone had offered some support and no one dared to mention closing the store for the time being, she was still worried about not having any goods to sell.

Just the day before yesterday, a small accident happened. Qin Xiaoye had to leave for a while, and when she came back, she found the mannequin naked. She asked and found out that the sales clerk had sold the dress on it and she hadn't had time to put on a new one yet.

Qin Xiaoye panicked as soon as she heard that. The items were sent by Madam Fang, and they were all priced extremely high. The exorbitant prices were meant to scare away customers, so she was told not to buy them.

That evening, she nervously took the money to Mrs. Fang to apologize. Unexpectedly, upon hearing that the clothes had been sold, Mrs. Fang was overjoyed and insisted on treating Qin Xiaoye and Zhang Dahai to a French dinner.

After listening to Qin Xiaoye's story, Qin Xiaoyu sighed deeply. "Need I say more? It's all because of loneliness."

I really feel bad for Madam Fang this time. In my haste, I sent Tang Wenwen and Xiao Zichen over. Putting aside others, that aunt was just keeping Madam Fang company. Now, with four people gone, who can bear it?

After spending a week at the new garment factory, Qin Xiaoyu discovered that Zhang Zufeng's management skills were not bad; she just hadn't quite grasped the concepts yet.

To put it bluntly, Qin Xiaoyu got the better deal. If Zhang Zufeng had realized this earlier, she probably would have taken over the business herself.

Qin Xiaoyu decided to delegate authority while offering her more benefits. This way, they could achieve a win-win situation.

After a long and thorough conversation with Zhang Zufeng, the two reached a consensus.

Finally, he could go home, and A Lei was a little reluctant to leave.

“Actually, it’s quite nice for the two of us to wander the world together,” A Lei said regretfully.

"I think if this continues, we'll really end up living a nomadic life. The battle lines are stretched too thin," Qin Xiaoyu said, a little melancholy in her voice.

“As long as we’re together, it doesn’t matter where we are, right?” A Lei hugged her, and Qin Xiaoyu tilted her head and gave him a kiss.

Just then, an old man in front of them turned around, his eyes looking like he'd seen a ghost, and he took off running.

"Slow down, don't slip!" A Lei kindly called out, and he ran even faster.

Qin Xiaoyu was overjoyed and carefree.

Back at the guesthouse, it was the same old routine; they seemed to have inexhaustible energy.

"Do you remember when you went through security?" A Lei deliberately brought up the very thing he didn't want to hear. During the security check, the ten boxes of condoms in his suitcase made the airport staff very uncomfortable; they were giving him strange looks.

"Hmph, I worked so hard to get it back, why can't I bring it!" Qin Xiaoyu said proudly, but her face secretly turned red.

It was also A Lei who teased her; the two of them played rock-paper-scissors, and the loser had to go to the pharmacy to buy condoms.

Qin Xiaoyu is a reasonable person; she accepts defeat when she loses. So, in the sweltering heat of Guangzhou, she put on a long robe, a mask, and a baseball cap, and went to the pharmacy.

"Ten boxes, please." Qin Xiaoyu's decision was made after careful consideration; she felt she would lose again next time, so she wanted to prepare some.

The sales clerk was so impressed she wanted to pull her out from under her packaging to see what was going on.

Qin Xiaoyu doesn't remember how she escaped from the pharmacy, while A Lei, who was waiting outside, was as happy as a fool.

The two returned home. It was almost New Year's Day, and the school was preparing for exams. None of the children watched TV; after dinner, they obediently went back to their rooms to study.

Qin Xiaoyu didn't dare to play with them. After dinner, she was bored, so she dragged A Lei out to visit other people's homes.

My third uncle likes to have a drink in the evening, his face flushed, and he smiles contentedly when he sees A Lei. A Lei sits at the table with him, drinks a beer, and listens to him talk about his business.

Qin Xiaoyu sat on the sofa and chatted with her third aunt about old times.

"Little Fish, I have something to tell you." Uncle San suddenly remembered something, got up and went into the bedroom.

When Qin Xiaoyu saw that her third aunt was inexplicably nervous, she guessed that this matter was probably related to her birth mother.

Sure enough, her third uncle took out a jewelry box and handed it to Qin Xiaoyu.

“Your mother asked someone to bring this. She said it was a gift from her when she got married.”

Qin Xiaoyu opened it, and inside was a jade bracelet that looked quite old, with a smooth and lustrous texture.

"Put this on. Your little hands are almost the same size as your mother's." Auntie said, taking it out and helping Qin Xiaoyu put it on her wrist. It didn't take much effort, and it fit perfectly.

“Your mother is tall, but her hands and feet are not big,” Uncle San said with a smile.

"Why are you so short?" Seeing Qin Xiaoyu's eyes glistening with tears, A Lei, afraid she would cry, quickly poked at her sore spot.
