Chapter 611 A Qualified Stepfather

“Wherever you are, I will be there. That’s one thing, but Grandpa Hanhan can’t stand it anymore either. At home he can at least make a living, but here he’s treated like a god. Even if he sweeps the floor himself, the servants get scolded. Look at his face, it’s so swollen. We should take him back to farming.”

"To be honest, Zhou Dada misses him too. It's quite sad that they're apart."

"You just settle things at home first, then come pick me up later." The wife was determined to leave.

As she came out of her wife's room, she saw her younger brother-in-law not far away, seemingly waiting for her to speak.

"My father asked me to pass on a message: try to keep Madam here as much as possible. If she leaves, my grandmother will be too lonely. She's so old, we can't let her wander off." It turned out that the uncle was afraid Qin Xiaoyu would take someone away immediately.

"We won't pick them up immediately. My wife just said that once we've settled down in Guangzhou, we'll bring them back."

"Let's delay it as long as we can. Are you also in the clothing business in Guangzhou?" Her uncle seemed quite concerned about her.

"Yes, I've been working on original content, experienced some setbacks, and am now climbing back up."

"It takes a lot of courage to create original content; not everyone can break through. Good luck. The policies are very good now, and the government supports it, so you can think of a way. They say good wine needs no bush, so why not? You still have to find your own way. Opening a few shops is ultimately too narrow a scope. Think about it yourself; that's all I have to say." Uncle said goodnight.

Qin Xiaoyu returned to her room and saw A Lei writing and drawing at the table, so she went over to him.

Ah Lei had always maintained a reading habit. In those days without cell phones, when playing games was impossible, reading was the only option. During this time, he always carried a few books with him, which Qin Xiaoyu didn't pay much attention to.

When I took a closer look today, I was quite surprised.

"Elementary school textbook? You're too insecure about your Chinese level. Do you want to study it again?" Qin Xiaoyu had never seen someone so eager to learn. This was probably the difference between a poor student and a top student.

“Take a closer look.” A Lei pinched her cheek as punishment.

Qin Xiaoyu picked up the two textbooks and compared them before realizing that one was the Guangdong version and the other was the People's Education Press version, which was the Northeast version that Hanhan and her younger sister were using.

She flipped through them and found that the two versions were very different.

“I’ve pointed out the differences between the two versions of the textbook and will make up for them this summer. Otherwise, if they transfer to another school, they will easily feel frustrated and fall behind.”

"Wow, did you compile this from a first-grade textbook?" Qin Xiaoyu picked up the thick notebook on the table and flipped through it. The handwriting was neat, and there were illustrations. It was a model of note-taking.

"What if we don't start from first grade? Do we have to skip it?" A Lei was getting serious, which was a bit intimidating.

"You're such a good dad. I want to have your babies," Qin Xiaoyu said sweetly, hugging him tightly.

"Monkey? You gave our child a nickname? It sounds a bit awful," A Lei muttered.

Qin Xiaoyu was so happy she almost fainted. A Lei knew she had tricked him again, so he angrily threw her onto the bed and sat back down at the table.

"Seriously, let's have a child, even just one. I want a child together." Qin Xiaoyu hugged him from behind, buried her face in his neck, and whispered.

"Okay, one, that's the most I can do."

A Lei was already aroused by her charms and put down his notes to focus on dealing with her.

Despite his small size, he has boundless energy and loves to provoke others.

Every time Qin Xiaoyu takes the initiative, it ignites A Lei's fighting spirit. There's only one thing left in the world: conquer her...

The most frightening thing in a marriage is numbness; when people stop caring, that's the scariest thing.

After settling Xu Jingye into his accommodation, Qin Xiaoyu and A Lei returned home, finally able to get some rest.

However, she realized that she had chosen the wrong time.

The plum rain season in Guangzhou, also known as the "return of the south" weather, is a disaster for a northerner accustomed to dry air.

Every day, Qin Xiaoyu would open the curtains and look in the direction of the sun. The sky was gloomy and seemed to be constantly weeping, with no sign of the rain stopping. She imagined the sun to be the bright, shining sun of the north.

Everything was damp and sticky.

Qin Xiaoyu misses home, her children, and her family; she can't take it anymore.

A small blister quietly appeared on his lip, which A Lei noticed and became anxious.

Originally, Cantonese cuisine was her favorite food, but now she has no appetite for anything and keeps asking Qi Si to come and open a hot pot restaurant so she can eat spicy and numbing hot pot.

Guangzhou isn't without Sichuan hot pot, but Ah Lei was worried about the blisters on her lips and kept a close eye on her. Once, she even managed to sneak into the hotel lobby, but Ah Lei dragged her out.

Qin Xiaoyu was so angry that she stomped her feet and threatened them, which scared the doorman so much that he almost called the police. Little did he know that the two of them were only after a hot pot meal.

That morning, Qin Xiaoyu stood by the window, staring blankly at the rain, when the maid knocked on the door and said that someone was waiting for her downstairs.

Sister Su stood at the door with a basket in her hand. Her clothes were soaked through, and water dripped down her body.

"Sister Su? Come in quickly, is something wrong at the store?" Qin Xiaoyu asked, a little flustered.

"It's nothing, I just made some food and brought it over." Sister Su smiled shyly.

Ignoring her objections, Qin Xiaoyu dragged her inside. Looking at the wet footprints on the floor, Sister Su felt apprehensive.

"I heard you don't have a good appetite, so I made you some food from my hometown," Sister Su said, taking the items out of the basket one by one.

"Spicy soup?" Qin Xiaoyu's eyes lit up. Afraid that A Lei would talk nonsense, she sat down and took a sip from her lunchbox.

Sister Su took out two more leavened flatbreads, golden yellow and soft. Qin Xiaoyu didn't bother to be polite and started eating them heartily.

A Lei came downstairs. He wanted to say something, but seeing that she had a big appetite, he held back.

"Sit down." Qin Xiaoyu only remembered that Sister Su was still standing after eating half of her meal, and she always felt a sense of distance from her.
