Chapter 730 A Fierce Fight

“How much worse can an ordinary family be? They’re different, like heaven and earth, so naturally they have to compete and strive. Unless they can accept their mediocrity, they’ll really go crazy.” A Lei has known Zhang Dahai for many years, and he’s probably complained about it a lot.

"Miranda has almost recovered, let's go back to Guangzhou for some peace and quiet." Qin Xiaoyu was scared.

“I think it’s fine. I don’t want to stay here for even a day longer.” Mrs. Fang immediately agreed.

Before they could even set off, things had already spiraled out of control like a derailed train, and had escalated to a point where blocking it was no longer an option.

The next morning, Xing Suyuan came to the door alone.

Her belly was quite large, and because she had been constantly crying, her eyes were squinting, making her look even older and more haggard. If she stood next to the spirited and energetic Qin Xiaoye, she would look more than ten years older.

"Please help me! Zhang Dahai is forcing me to abort the child. He says he won't divorce me if I abort the child, but the child is so big now, how can I have an abortion?" Xing Suyuan cried pitifully.

"Abort the child? This idea was probably Qin Xiaoye's." Madam Fang saw through the situation at a glance.

"It seems so. Judging from what they said yesterday, she's pregnant too, and probably wants to use the child to try and climb the social ladder." Qin Xiaoyu sighed. It turns out that palace dramas are based on real-life events. Even without palace dramas, people still use pregnancy to gain power.

"I really can't help you with this. My own stance is that I strongly disagree with her interfering in someone else's marriage, but she's an adult, what can I do?" Qin Xiaoyu looked helplessly at Xing Suyuan.

“Our family isn’t one to be bullied. If he insists on going his own way, my father and brothers will retaliate.” Xing Suyuan was far too weak. She was clearly there to intimidate him, but her words lacked conviction, and she kept pleading.

"Even if you put a knife to my throat, I can't do anything about it." Qin Xiaoyu looked at the foolish woman in front of her, feeling sorry for her misfortune and angry at her lack of self-confidence. "Then why don't you get a divorce?"

"Divorce? What about the children? The children will be fatherless!" Xing Suyuan's eyes widened, as if Qin Xiaoyu had told a fantasy.

"A father like that is better off not having one."

"Who said that? Something is better than nothing." Xing Suyuan was even more confused by what she said and didn't want to talk anymore. She got up, grabbed her bag, and walked out, staggering.

"Don't come to our house again. You can't even withstand a fall." Mrs. Fang shook her head and grinned.

Ah Lei had already booked all the tickets and was just waiting for the return flight the next day. Nobody wanted to fly, so he booked soft sleeper berths for everyone. This way, the whole family could move around together and take turns carrying the child, so it wouldn't be tiring.

Dinner was lavish. Mrs. Fang was a bit petty; she had bought a lot of high-end ingredients during her trip back to Shanghai. Before leaving, she wanted to use as much as possible, always worried that the chef might smuggle some.

Fortunately, it doesn't matter how much she makes; Qin Xiaoyu is a big eater and will not refuse anything offered.

The biggest benefit of this trip for her is that she has regained her figure. What she considers perfect is considered too thin by the older generation.

Zhou Xing's mother and Mrs. Fang kept grumbling, always feeling that Qin Xiaoyu wasn't eating.

"I'll go back and make arrangements so that Xiao Jin can go to England as soon as possible." Miranda decided not to return to Guangzhou and flew directly from Shanghai.

"Take care of yourself," Are said without looking up.

“Thank you,” Miranda replied.

Qin Xiaoyu sighed secretly; the temperature wasn't high enough.

Just then, the doorbell rang loudly.

When the maid brought Xiao Ye's father in, Qin Xiaoyu and A Lei had already come from the dining room. Intuitively, they guessed that it was related to Zhang Dahai's matter.

"Xiao Ye was beaten and hospitalized. Now the Zhang family has frozen all the money. We have no money to save her life. You need to give us money!" Xiao Ye's father was already crying his eyes out.

"Go find Zhang Dahai," Qin Xiaoyu said cruelly.

"He's gone, we can't find him anywhere, we can't get through on the phone, and he's not answering calls!" Xiao Ye's father said, his face filled with despair.

"Then there's nothing I can do. You said it yourself. Your family matters are none of our business. We're outsiders, so you should leave." Qin Xiaoyu really didn't want to get involved with them anymore.

"Little Fish, please, save your sister!" Little Ye's father suddenly knelt down on the ground.

This kneeling felt like a thousand arrows piercing Qin Xiaoyu's heart; the pain made it hard for her to breathe, and her face turned deathly pale.

"Are you alright, Little Fish?" A Lei hugged her tightly.

"What's wrong? Call an ambulance quickly!" Mrs. Fang rushed towards the phone, leaning on her cane, but Miranda was already there and had picked up the phone.

"Quickly, throw him out! Hurry! No one is allowed to let him in again!" Madam Fang was furious. The servants were terrified. They grabbed Little Ye's father and threw him outside, locked the door from the inside, and ignored him no matter how much he knocked or rang the doorbell.

"The car is on its way. How's Xiaoyu?" Miranda put down the phone and came over to check on her.

After Ah Lei pinched Qin Xiaoyu's philtrum for a long time, she slowly woke up, but she had no strength at all, and her forehead was covered with a layer of fine sweat.

The doorbell rang sharply, startling Qin Xiaoyu and giving her another jolt.

Before anyone could see what happened, Commander Zhou suddenly rushed out. By the time they realized what was happening, Xiao Ye's father had already been pinned down and brutally beaten by Commander Zhou. Blood was gushing from his nostrils, and he was screaming for help.

"Old man! Don't hurt your back!" Zhou Xing's mother and Mrs. Fang helped each other to the door, their hands clasped together, unsure of what to do.

"What are you all looking at?" Madam Fang waved her hand, and the servants rushed forward. Even the kitchen staff came out to watch the commotion. They pulled Commander Zhou away to make room, and then another round of punches and kicks ensued.

"Alright, just leave him a little bit of life." Madam Fang waved her hand when she saw that it was about time.

Zhou Xingma helped Commander Zhou into the house and threw him onto the sofa.

"I'm sweating buckets! It's been years since I've done this. It feels great!" Commander Zhou breathed a sigh of relief, feeling refreshed.

The ambulance had arrived by then, and A Lei hurriedly carried Qin Xiaoyu out to greet it. Zhou Xing's mother was worried, so she pulled Commander Zhou into the ambulance as well.

Qin Xiaoyu was agitated and suffered a bit of a shock. Commander Zhou's blood pressure was slightly elevated, but otherwise he was fine.

"Boss, you really don't take care of your health." Qin Xiaoyu, after recovering, first complained to Commander Zhou.

“If he comes again, I’ll beat him again. We can’t let him get away with this. Does he think there’s no man in our family?” Commander Zhou wasn’t done beating him yet; he was now locked in a life-or-death struggle with Xiao Ye’s father.

He had done A Lei a huge favor. A Lei understood Qin Xiaoyu to the core; she was too traditional. Despite her father's many faults, she still couldn't tolerate hitting her elders.

Commander Zhou understood this point, which is why he took action to avenge Qin Xiaoyu. He couldn't tolerate his precious darling being bullied like this.
