Chapter 766 Closing the Net

She stared nervously at the road sign, her mind racing as she analyzed and made her judgment.

There were already many farmlands outside. Should we drive down and crash into a tree? Qin Xiaoyu's hands started to tremble, and her legs were almost out of control. She kept wanting to step on the accelerator, and she pinched her leg hard in frustration.

Lu Xiaofei watched her every move nervously, her heart pounding.

Suddenly, a billboard caught her attention: Xiangyanghong Sponge Factory.

Sponge! Shock absorption!

Without hesitation, Qin Xiaoyu turned off the road and drove forward following the road signs.

The large sign for the sponge factory appeared in front of her. Qin Xiaoyu was worried that there would be obstacles at the gate, but just then a truck entered the yard, and she followed behind it.

The car was heading towards the back warehouse. The weather was nice, and the tall warehouse doors were all open, allowing for ventilation.

Qin Xiaoyu spotted a relatively empty warehouse and drove straight in.

She had rolled down her car door and was shouting as she drove, "Make way! The brakes are broken, I can't stop! Make way!"

The people in the warehouse were initially startled, wondering how a car had driven in. They only realized what was happening after she shouted and quickly moved aside.

In the blink of an eye, Qin Xiaoyu's car crashed into the sponge. The car didn't stop immediately, but continued forward, pushing against the sponge, step by step, until it was finally brought to a stop.

Her body lurched forward, then crashed back into her seat. The car finally came to a stop, but she was buried under the fallen sponges.

"Xiaofei, are you alright?" Qin Xiaoyu felt a dull pain in her chest, so she called out to Xiaofei first.

"Aunt Qin, I'm fine. Are you alright?" Lu Xiaofei asked with concern. Upon hearing this, Qin Xiaoyu felt a sense of relief, but then her vision went black, and she knew nothing more.

When she woke up, she learned that they had been rescued by people from the sponge factory and taken to the hospital.

Lu Xiaofei was clever enough to recite the phone number perfectly, which allowed A Lei and the others to arrive.

Qin Xiaoyu only suffered minor injuries; she fainted because she was too nervous.

"From now on, I can never leave your side, no matter what. If I leave even once, you'll cause trouble!" A Lei was both angry and anxious.

"Someone tampered with the brakes," Qin Xiaoyu said weakly.

“I know, I’ve checked. This Qing Xiaoxu really doesn’t want to live anymore.” A Lei gritted his teeth.

"You handed her account over to the procuratorate?"

"That's too much trouble. What if she tries to suppress it again? I'll just hand it over to my uncle. My aunt will handle it." A Lei also became determined.

"Oh, will my aunt say I've caused trouble again?" Qin Xiaoyu asked worriedly.

She scolded me, saying I hadn't taken good care of you.

"Then what?"

"there is none left."

Qin Xiaoyu felt relieved; it seemed that her aunt's impression of her as a troublemaker had finally improved.

Her injuries weren't serious, and there wasn't much for Xiaofei to observe, so A Lei took them to the hospital where Lu Di was.

Lu Di had already woken up and was looking at Lu Xiaofei, only shedding tears.

"Just focus on getting better, don't worry about anything. As long as there are people around, nothing is a problem," Qin Xiaoyu reassured him.

Lu Di blinked, indicating that he had received the message.

Qi Si brought the Lu family over to keep them company, and also picked up Lu Di's parents-in-law, who were exhausted.

A Lei took Qin Xiaoyu home, and as soon as he entered, he saw K sitting on the sofa with a strange expression on his face.

"What's wrong, brother-in-law?" Qin Xiaoyu asked hurriedly.

"I've found a mole. Fatty's been following me for so long, and someone bought him for ten thousand yuan. My face, haha." It turns out that at the same time Qin Xiaoyu got into trouble, Master K was investigating Gao Daxiong's cause of death.

When they went to find Gao Daxiong, they sent Brother Wen. When Qin Xiaoyu brought back news of Gao Daxiong's death, Master K instinctively sensed that something was wrong.

Brother Wen was the person he trusted most, and no one could buy him. After analyzing the situation, the two of them focused their attention on Fatty.

But before they could look for him, Fatty had already disappeared.

Why would K-Master let him escape? He cast a net and pulled him out. Once they found him, a beating brought him to the confession, and he even mentioned damaging Qin Xiaoyu's brakes.

Ye Qiu was busy making phone calls to report the news; Qin Xiaoyu had already driven away for half a day.

When A Lei called the hospital to ask, he found out that she hadn't shown up at all, which scared him so much that he hurriedly went out to look for her.

Fortunately, Qin Xiaoyu was quick-witted and drove into the sponge factory; otherwise, it's hard to say whether she would have survived, or at least she would have been injured.

"I'll deal with my people. As for the people behind the scenes, you can handle it if you can, but if you can't, just tell me and I'll find a way to get rid of them." Qin Xiaoyu knew that Master K was ruthless.

“We’ve already made arrangements, so don’t worry.” A Lei knew that this time, Qing Xiaoxu would either be sentenced to death or spend the rest of her life in prison.

It really wasn't easy for her; she persevered for thirty years, and in the end, with just over a year left before retirement, she made such a big fuss.

This is the so-called "59 phenomenon," which means that when real power is about to disappear, many people want to make a quick buck, and their previous reputation is ruined in an instant.

Lu Di stayed in the hospital for a month before returning home to recuperate, as the costs in Guangzhou were too high.

Before leaving, he called Qin Xiaoyu over.

"Xiao Qin, thank you for saving my life. This is for you." Lu Di took out an IOU with his red fingerprint on it.

"Whatever makes you happy." Qin Xiaoyu smiled and accepted it. She didn't insist; whatever Lu Di did was up to him.

"I've always wanted to live a clean and simple life, without any ties. Now I realize that no one can live like that, no matter how willful they are. I need to live well, for my family and for my friends." After his brush with death, Lu Di has finally come to his senses.

"Qing Xiaoxu has already been placed on file for investigation." Qin Xiaoyu knew that Lu Di was also concerned about this matter.

“When I was in the provincial capital, I worked with her on a team. You know me, I can be a bit too ruthless and leave no way out. I just didn’t expect that she, who seemed to be a fair and impartial person, would be so selfish.”

"Your words make me laugh. You think human nature is too simplistic. In your world, it's not just black and white, but there's also a gray area, a matter of a single thought."

"I want to learn more from you in the future. Please be my mentor." Lu Di said earnestly, which made Qin Xiaoyu feel embarrassed.

Qing Xiaoxu gave up the appeal, and the verdict was quickly handed down: death sentence with a two-year reprieve.

For her, it was not as satisfying as eating a peanut; this dull knife cutting flesh was much harder to bear than death.

People who have lived a life of luxury and privilege, always surrounded by admirers, suddenly lose their freedom and have nothing. This is the distance from heaven to hell.

She didn't cherish what she had, and when she lost it, she could only regret it.

On the day of the sentencing, Qin Xiaoyu and A Lei went to observe the proceedings. As Qing Xiaoxu was being escorted out of the courtroom, she turned around and met Qin Xiaoyu's gaze.

Qin Xiaoyu saw no hatred, only numbness. In just one month, her hair had turned completely white, indicating that the pain she had endured was unimaginable to outsiders.
