"We've found a long-term partner whose technology still needs improvement. We can help them; it's a win-win situation."
"You agreed to advertise for them? How are you going to do it?" Zhou Yue was curious about this. There's an art to running an advertisement; if done poorly, it could overshadow the main purpose of the advertisement.
"Just one line is enough: the fabrics for this exhibition are sponsored by Glorious Silk Weaving Factory." Qin Xiaoyu had already thought it through. As long as the fashion show was a success, even if she didn't advertise, people would still try to poach the fabric manufacturers. It was a win-win situation.
"Isn't that great? Why do you look a little worried?" Zhou Yue knew her too well.
"The former fabric factory manager came to us with new products, which are quite good and usable. I'm in a dilemma; how should I tell Glory Factory?"
"Then let's put it down for now. Aren't you tired? Let's eat first!"
“I’d like to go with you guys too. Don’t you need a personal photographer?” Wang Lei volunteered.
"Alright, you can go then." Now Qin Xiaoyu dared to entrust the task to Wang Lei. During his time in Guangzhou, Wang Lei had been studying and his skills had improved significantly.
“I’m getting Mom a passport. If things go well, let her come along,” A Lei suggested. Qin Xiaoyu glanced at Commander Zhou, feeling a little down. His status was special, making it inconvenient for him to go out.
"If your mother can walk, take her with you to see Hanhan." Commander Zhou said casually, but he was very regretful in his heart. He was the one who wanted to see Hanhan the most.
"Dad, Hanhan will be back for the Spring Festival, there are only a few months left." Qin Xiaoyu hurriedly comforted him.
“No rush, I don’t miss him that much either, no rush,” Commander Zhou explained, but his eyes welled up with tears whenever Hanhan’s name was mentioned.
The phone rang, and Lisheng hesitantly ran over to answer it.
"Auntie, it's for you."
Qin Xiaoyu walked around the table, but the phone went dead; the other party had hung up. She frowned, looked at the receiver, and then put it back.
Are cast an inquiring glance my way.
"I don't know who it was. I hung up as soon as I got here. Lisheng, did you recognize who it was?"
"It seems to be Aunt Qiu," Lisheng said after tilting his head and thinking for a moment.
"What could be wrong with Sister Qiu? You're already missing her after just a short separation?" Qin Xiaoyu laughed as she walked to the table, just as the phone behind her rang again. She quickly ran over to answer it.
"Tell Qi Si to leave quickly! Quickly!" Ye Qiu's voice had changed; it was hoarse, anxious, and desperately trying to keep it down. The background was noisy, and it was difficult to hear what she was saying unless you looked closely.
"What's going on?" Qin Xiaoyu asked hurriedly.
"Stop asking. Just let him go!" Ye Qiu hung up the phone again.
Sensing something amiss, the room fell silent, and everyone stared at Qin Xiaoyu.
"Ye Qiu called and told Fourth Brother to hurry up and go. Where to?" Qin Xiaoyu said blankly.
Qi Si suddenly stood up, his expression turning serious. A Lei also stood up, staring at Qi Si, their eyes meeting.
The doorbell rang, and A Lei closed his eyes in disappointment.
Qin Xiaoyu guessed what had happened, and she panicked, unsure whether to open the door.
"I'll go open the door. You take good care of the child," Qi Si said calmly to Xiao Si's wife, then turned to Qin Xiaoyu, "You take good care of the elderly, and also take care of yourself."
Before anyone could speak, Qi Si had already walked out the door.
Qin Xiaoyu stumbled and staggered after him, rushing out the door before she could even change her shoes.
A police car pulled up at the entrance. Qi Si went up to the police, said a few words to them, and was then handcuffed.
Sister-in-law Xiao Si also chased after them, and Qi Si was being forced into the police car with his head down.
"Fourth Brother!" Fourth Sister-in-law called out and rushed over.
The police car sped away faster than her.
Sister-in-law Xiao chased after the police car for a dozen steps before she was too out of breath to run any further. She stared blankly at the departing police car and slowly knelt down.
Everyone inside the house rushed out.
"Don't panic, you two go inside and keep an eye on the child." Qin Xiaoyu winked at Zhou Yue, and the two of them went over to help Xiao Si's sister-in-law up and escort her into the house.
"Something must have happened to Master K, which is why Ye Qiu came to warn them first. It shouldn't be a big problem." A Lei analyzed for a moment. Qin Xiaoyu glanced at him, knowing that he wasn't serious and just wanted to calm them down temporarily.
Xiao Sisao suddenly stood up from the sofa and lunged at the phone.
This time, I called the hotel, and it was in complete chaos. The manager answered the phone, and hearing Xiao Si's voice was like grasping at a straw.
"They came to seal it off and told all the guests and employees to leave. I don't know what to do." The manager's voice was trembling.
Sister-in-law Si's hand holding the microphone trembled, and she looked at Qin Xiaoyu for help.
"Sister-in-law, let me handle this." Qin Xiaoyu gently pulled the microphone over, took a deep breath, and began to make arrangements.
"Manager Chen, listen to me. Grab some paper and pen and write this down. First, do as they ask, but allow some time to clean up the mess. Second, all staff must stop working and gather in the lobby for dismissal. Third, immediately process check-outs for all customers; waive all room fees and return their deposits and identification documents..."
"A full refund?" Manager Chen refused.
"Yes, full refund, listen to me. You must do it this way." Qin Xiaoyu spoke decisively, and Manager Chen dared not disobey. Even Qi Si was intimidated in front of Qin Xiaoyu, let alone him.
Qin Xiaoyu was already prepared. This time, the arrest was coming with great force, and she didn't know where it came from. It seemed like they were planning for the long term.
The only way to preserve a hotel's last shred of credibility is to offer a full refund.
That way, once things have calmed down and the business reopens, customers will still move in without hesitation.
Who wouldn't be happy to stay for free and save so much money?
If we really can't get past this hurdle, then the money should be turned over, and it would be more practical to refund it to the customer.
She hung up the phone and immediately called her hometown. Sure enough, she heard news from there that all of Qi Si's businesses had been seized.
Zhou Yue and Tang Fengqin took all the children upstairs, and Madam Fang and her husband also went back to rest. The remaining people in the hall were all adults, so they could have a proper discussion.
"I don't quite understand. If the investigation started from their hometown, they shouldn't have arrested Master K first. And if the investigation started from Master K, they shouldn't have shut down their businesses in their hometown as well." Qin Xiaoyu couldn't figure it out no matter how she looked at it.
“This is a nationwide operation; it’s just a coincidence that it happened to fall on the same day,” A Lei said, seeing things more clearly.
"Xiaoyu, come here, I want to say a few words to you." Fourth Sister-in-law wiped away her tears and gestured for Qin Xiaoyu to come with her.
The two went into the kitchen and sat down facing each other. Xiao Si's sister-in-law bit her lip, and tears streamed down her face again.
"Xiaoyu, I'm really useless. When things come to a head, all I know how to do is cry." She tried to calm herself down before speaking. "Your brother had long anticipated this day and had made all the arrangements. He said it, but I just ignored him and didn't take it seriously. Who knew this day would really come, and so quickly."
"My brother guessed it?" Qin Xiaoyu felt so guilty that she was about to cry.
