Qin Xiaoyu was worried that Qi Weiguo would suffer from hypoglycemia again if he took a bath on an empty stomach.
"Here, I let it cool down a bit, so it's not too hot to drink. Here, you asked me to put a straw in." Zhou Xing's mother hurriedly brought out a large teacup with a straw inside.
A Lei put the straw to Qi Weiguo's lips, and he drank it down in big gulps before going into the bathroom with Hanhan's grandfather.
Time passed slowly. Qin Xiaoyu and the others went upstairs to take a shower and have dinner before they saw Grandpa Hanhan helping Qi Weiguo out.
Grandpa Hanhan is quite capable. He probably shaved Qi Weiguo's head because his hair was too difficult to wash.
After washing up, I changed into Grandpa Hanhan's clothes. Although they didn't fit, I felt much fresher. He smelled wonderful; I wonder how much shower gel Grandpa Hanhan used.
"Come and eat." Qin Xiaoyu took his hand and helped him walk towards the dining room. She then said to Hanhan's grandfather, "Dad, you've worked hard. Go and rest."
"I'm fine. Take me to my room to sleep later. I'll wait for him to finish eating." Grandpa Hanhan knew there were no empty rooms in the house and there was no room for Qi Weiguo.
The food was laid out on the table, freshly heated. Qin Xiaoyu helped Qi Weiguo sit down and moved the soup bowl in front of him.
Qi Weiguo slowly raised his hand, touched the warm soup bowl, and remained motionless, lost in thought.
Qin Xiaoyu handed him a spoon. Qi Weiguo was blind and clumsy; he spilled half of his soup, couldn't eat his rice, let alone the dishes in front of him.
"Let me do it, I'll feed him," Grandpa Hanhan said anxiously.
"No need! No need!" Qi Weiguo panicked and hurriedly refused. Qin Xiaoyu gave Hanhan's grandfather a look, indicating that she still wanted to save his dignity and let him do it himself.
“I’ll use my hand.” Qi Weiguo stretched out his hand.
Qin Xiaoyu almost fainted. Her nails were so long and unruly. How long had it been since she had them cut?
"Wait a minute." After she finished speaking, she ran out, turned around and grabbed the nail clippers, took Qi Weiguo's hand, and carefully trimmed the nails. Only then did she say with relief, "It's ready, eat."
She was used to taking care of the elderly, and she always cut her wife's nails, so it wasn't difficult for her at all.
Qi Weiguo touched the food in front of him and began to wolf it down, eating large mouthfuls.
The people present felt heartbroken seeing this; it was truly pitiful that someone had fallen to such a state.
After dinner, Hanhan's grandfather took Qi Weiguo to Madam Fang's house.
Only then did Zhou Xing's mother have a chance to ask questions.
"He agreed to sell the land?"
"No," Qin Xiaoyu shook her head.
"We little fish are just clever. If someone else can't make a deal, why would we meddle?" Commander Zhou said smugly.
"This man is really pitiful. He's afraid that if he sells the land, someone will kill him for money."
"That's really true. I think those people are utterly depraved," A Lei sighed.
"It seems this matter can't be resolved anytime soon. Let's look for clues first and send him back tomorrow. Anyway, he has enough food and drink to keep him going. If the land is still there when we come back, then it's fate. Otherwise, let it go; we can't force it." Qin Xiaoyu was still clear-headed; nothing was more important than Qi Si's life.
Qin Xiaoyu dragged her tired body back to her room; it was already past ten o'clock at night.
I had already taken a bath, but today I felt a strange odor, so I took another soak in the bathtub. When I came out, the bedroom was unusually quiet. Little Jiajia was sleeping motionless in her crib. A Lei wasn't in the room.
She heard a noise outside the window, went over to take a look, and saw that under the moonlight, A Lei was washing the car with a hose.
This guy is a germaphobe; there's no way he could stand it.
Qin Xiaoyu looked at him with a wry smile. A Lei seemed to sense it, looked up and saw her standing at the window, and waved for her to come in, afraid that her hair would be blown by the wind if it wasn't completely dry.
She had no choice but to sit back down at her dressing table, take out paper and pen, and try to organize her thoughts, but her mind was a jumbled mess and she couldn't concentrate at all.
The phone rang abruptly, startling Qin Xiaoyu, who rushed over to answer it immediately. Waking up Xiao Jiajia would be troublesome.
She lowered her voice and said, "Hello." She then craned her neck to look closer into the crib. Little Jiajia's eyelashes fluttered a few times before she fell into a deep sleep again.
"I'm your Uncle Fu. I'm so sorry to bother you so late," Fu Yongnian's voice came through.
“Uncle Fu!” Qin Xiaoyu sat up straight.
After Qi Si's incident, she didn't tell anyone, and neither the Fu family nor the Du family knew about it. First, it wasn't a good thing, so it was better to keep it quiet. Second, she was afraid of getting involved in anything, so she wanted to draw a clear line beforehand.
Fu Yongnian called so late; he must have found out something.
Actually, Fu Di had been overseas during this time, and Qin Xiaoyu had kept the news from him. No one knows how it got to the Fu family.
“Xiaoyu, I called you after your mom went to sleep. We’ve heard about Qi Si’s accident. Your mom was going to rush over there tonight, but she said she wanted to help you out, even if it was just helping take care of the kids. I persuaded her to stay home.” Fu Yongnian’s voice was very low, probably because he was making the call from his study, not wanting to disturb Xiaoyu’s mother.
"Uncle Fu, I just didn't want my mom to worry, that's why I didn't..."
“Xiaoyu, you don’t need to say all this, I understand. I’ve already told your mother that you can’t go; you’ll only cause trouble. Sister-in-law Zhou is a very considerate person; if your mother goes, she’ll have to take care of everything and won’t have time to look after the child. The child hasn’t been seen for a long time, and it’s not certain that a stranger will take good care of the child.” Fu Yongnian was very thoughtful and considerate, which warmed Qin Xiaoyu’s heart.
My mother is truly blessed to be with such a man who thinks of everything for her. What else could she possibly worry about?
"Uncle Fu, you're right, we'll listen to you."
"I managed to calm her down, but she'll still feel uneasy if she doesn't hear you speak to her directly, and she's too afraid to call you first. Why don't you call her tomorrow? She'll be available all morning. Okay?"
"Okay. Uncle Fu, thank you." Qin Xiaoyu felt that he had made the arrangements very well. She was feeling very confused right now, and she was naturally very grateful to have someone so considerate.
"Also, I have to complain a bit about you. Since we are your parents, how could you not tell the family about such a big thing? This matter is far away, we can't reach it, and we can't help much. There's only one thing, about money, just tell me, I won't say the amount, just ask for whatever you want. No matter how much it is, just let me know, and I'll transfer it to your account within 24 hours." Fu Yongnian's words had really hit the nail on the head. Since the incident, Qin Xiaoyu felt confident for the first time. She wasn't fighting alone; she had these relatives supporting her.
According to Fu Yongnian, Xiaoyu's mother gets up early every morning, so Qin Xiaoyu also got up early and made a phone call.
It was Xiaoyu's mother who answered the phone. When she heard that it was her daughter calling, her voice trembled a little.
"Mom, have you heard about what happened to my fourth brother? Are you upset about it?"
