"Stop making a fuss, just stay put." Deng Jianyan felt sorry for his wife. She had been busy day and night for Fashion Week, and she had lost a lot of weight, and her eyes had become bigger.
The doorbell rang only once before Grandpa Hanhan ran over. It was nap time, and a bunch of little ones were sleeping upstairs.
Qi Weiguo was staying comfortably at the hotel and had never been here before. When everyone saw him, they quickly got up to greet him.
"Brother, come over for a chat when you have nothing to do. You've been sitting here too long," Hanhan's grandfather complained.
“I’m different from you guys. You like farming and stuff. I’m not interested. I’m only thinking about making money,” Qi Weiguo said with a wave of his hand and a smile.
"Uncle Qi, you've come all this way in this sweltering heat, is there something you need?" Qin Xiaoyu asked.
"You and A Lei come with me to the usual place to pick up some things." Qin Xiaoyu almost knelt down after hearing Qi Weiguo's words.
A hundred voices screamed in her head, "I won't go! I won't go! I'd rather die than go!"
"Uncle Qi, if you need anything, I'll buy it for you. We don't need to go get it, okay?" Qin Xiaoyu was almost crying.
“I need that thing, and you can’t buy it for me. Are you going or not?” Qi Weiguo’s face darkened.
"Go!" Qin Xiaoyu walked out with A Lei with a bitter face. A Lei was not much better off than her and was also about to cry.
The weather is hot, and the garbage mountain is fermenting. The smell is so strong that it stings your eyes even from hundreds of meters away.
"It would have been so much better to buy gas masks." Qin Xiaoyu was filled with regret.
"Tie it on." Qi Weiguo was prepared. He took out three new towels and threw them over. Qin Xiaoyu poured some water on them and tied them to her face, covering her mouth and nose. Although she had difficulty breathing, it was much better than before.
They brought their rubber boots, and slipped and slid as they went inside.
Qi Weiguo has been gone for some time, and the house has become even more dilapidated. The large tea mug he left behind is covered with a layer of mold.
He led them to the water vat, pointed at it, and said, "Move it away."
A Lei was anxious and bent down to move it, but the smell almost made him faint.
Qin Xiaoyu understood. Qi Weiguo had left something here that he couldn't bear to throw away. He lacked nothing now, so what he had to take must be of great importance to him. He might as well take it.
The water vat was full of rainwater, and A Lei couldn't move it at all. Qin Xiaoyu suddenly remembered Sima Guang smashing the vat, so she picked up a stone and smashed it down.
With a crash, the old vat broke, and the three of them, unable to dodge in time, were covered in dirty water.
A Lei picked up the last piece of the bottom of the jar, revealing the soil, a perfectly round piece, with nothing inside.
"Dig." Qi Weiguo produced a shovel as if by magic.
A Lei was really going all out; he was willing to do anything to get Qin Xiaoyu out of there as soon as possible.
About half an hour later, A Lei had dug a hole when suddenly his shovel jolted and he hit something.
He brought up a small jar, the mouth of which was sealed very well.
Qi Weiguo picked up the small jar, gestured to them with his lips, indicating that they should retreat, and the two of them turned and fled.
After driving for a few miles, they were finally able to catch their breath. Qi Weiguo then placed the jar on the back seat and began taking things out of it.
The first thing he took out was a small notebook, and he looked at it for a while, wiping away a tear.
Then he took out a notebook, tugged at Qin Xiaoyu, and handed it to her.
Qin Xiaoyu casually took it; it was a local land certificate. She flipped it open and her eyes widened in surprise.
But this didn't end there. Qi Weiguo handed over another book, and then another...
In the end, Qin Xiaoyu had about twenty land certificates in her hands, and Qi Weiguo said regretfully, "It's all gone."
He raised his hand and threw the jar out of the car window.
"Uncle Qi, are you the Earth God in disguise?" Qin Xiaoyu was beyond words with shock.
"You can divide them all up for me, the biggest one is for my granddaughter." Qi Weiguo took back the land certificate and began to divide the land.
"You have a granddaughter? Where is she?" Qin Xiaoyu was surprised, not expecting that he had relatives.
“Xiaoxin is my granddaughter!” Qi Weiguo said angrily, glaring at her.
"Oh, oh." Qin Xiaoyu understood a little.
"Give this to Zhengxin. And give this to him too, I think that kid is a bit of a spendthrift," Qi Weiguo muttered.
"This is for Jiajia, this is for the little sister."
"Uncle Qi, there's no need..." Qin Xiaoyu quickly stopped him when she heard that her younger sister and Jiajia were also there.
"Shut up. Did I ask you to speak?" Qi Weiguo retorted, shutting Qin Xiaoyu down.
"You can handle this yourself. Dr. Deng's family has too many children." Qi Weiguo was annoyed with the division and shoved the last few small land certificates into Qin Xiaoyu's hands.
"Uncle Qi, are you going to give this as a gift?" Qin Xiaoyu still couldn't believe it.
"I'll give them all away. Find some time to gather everyone together and get them notarized." Qi Weiguo handed over all the land certificates, keeping only the small booklet, which he carefully kept close to his body.
Qin Xiaoyu then realized that the person sitting in her car was a reclusive tycoon.
Who could tell that the nearly blind old man sitting in the garbage dump has so much land in his hands?
“At that time, I thought my life was over. I finally managed to get a nephew from my hometown, hoping he could take care of me in my old age. I was careful and only showed him 5,000 yuan. But he took the money and even put rat poison in my food. If I hadn't been lucky, I would have been dead long ago. It's my blessing to have met your family. What do I need these material things for? I just want to enjoy my life.”
Qi Weiguo sighed with emotion.
This is only part of the reason; there are other important reasons that Qi Weiguo did not mention.
He was moved by the kindness shown to him.
In fact, he had been observing all along. After checking into Qi Si's hotel and receiving a sum of money, and with his eyesight restored after the surgery, he was considering what to do next.
If he has money, leisure time, and the ability to see, he is a free man, and he can live wherever he wants.
He can have a much richer life now.
After the hotel reopened, Qi Si's leg injury meant all the work fell on his wife, Xiao Si's wife. She was so busy that Qi Weiguo rarely even saw her.
The waiters were very thorough in their instructions, arranging Qi Weiguo's life very comfortably, providing him with everything he needed, from food and clothing to daily necessities.
After his surgery, he needed to recuperate, so Deng Jianyan prescribed a lot of traditional Chinese medicine. Knowing that Xiao Si's wife was busy, Deng Jianyan brewed the medicine, sealed it in a bag, and put it in the hotel's refrigerator.
The food is heated up and delivered by the waiter every evening after dinner.
Qi Weiguo took the medicine quite well. But that evening, for some reason, the medicine wasn't brought. He waited until after eight o'clock and started to feel uneasy.
This means things are gradually fading away. He's been tested with one or two things, and it's estimated that his time to be squeezed out of the hotel is almost up.
He was a suspicious person by nature, and the more he thought about it, the more unhappy he became.
The next morning, when I went out and saw the waiter, I went up to him and started scolding him.
