Chapter 83 You Can't Catch a Wolf Without Risking Your Child (Part 2)

"I'm going to make a phone call." Qin Xiaoyu was worried about Tang Wenwen, so she called the chemical plant and, without asking any questions, immediately started scolding her.

"Sister-in-law, I know it's no use for me to explain. Calm down first, and I'll talk to you in person." Tang Wenwen's voice was soft and weak. Qin Xiaoyu felt a pang of sympathy for her and couldn't bring herself to scold her anymore.

Tang Wenwen arrived quickly, and the two of them entered Qin Xiaoyu's office.

"Sister-in-law, I really want to elope with him. I don't want anything anymore, to the ends of the earth, wherever it is, as long as he's there." Tang Wenwen looked exhausted.

"You want to elope with him, but does he want to elope with you? These are two different things!" Qin Xiaoyu was both angry and heartbroken. She poured her a glass of water and added a spoonful of honey.

"He thought about it. But there were always things he couldn't let go of." Tang Wenwen's words clearly lacked confidence.

"That means you don't want to. If you do want to, there's nothing you can't let go of," Qin Xiaoyu said coldly.

"I'll give him another month. If he still doesn't make up his mind, I'll really break up with him. Trust me."

Tang Wenwen looked up, her eyes filled with tears. Qin Xiaoyu rolled her eyes. She understood this kind of pain. It was one thing to be hurt in a relationship, but the worst thing was to get entangled in a mess.

"Little Fish! Guess who I saw!" Commander Wang burst in, shouting excitedly.

Who is it?

"Your master! Her daughter-in-law just gave birth, and she's taking care of her during her postpartum period. Her complexion, her appearance—oh! She looks at least ten years older. She even wiped away tears when she saw me. My heart... Little Fish, why don't you go find your master again?" Commander Wang had a sharp tongue but a soft heart; he was the most tender-hearted among them.

“Aunt Wang, it’s not a matter of whether I can bring her back or not. Even if I do, her in-laws come to cause trouble every now and then, and no amount of money can cover it. You’ve seen what kind of people her in-laws are; they’re the most difficult to deal with. And now they’ve even taken a baby hostage. What are we going to do?” Qin Xiaoyu’s analysis was spot on, and Commander Wang’s eyes dimmed. He was at a loss.

Qin Xiaoyu wasn't heartbroken for Master Wang, but now that they had reached the final stage, she could only persevere. She guessed that Xu's mother was about to give up.

Xu's mother arrived earlier than she expected. She had thought she would have to wait until Xu Dahua finished her postpartum confinement, but she came after only half a month.

My cousin's wife was worried that Qin Xiaoyu would get cold, so she made a big quilt and carried it over. Qin Xiaoyu was pressing down to get her hair permed. When Xu's mother came into the room, everyone's expression was not very good.

"Oh, Xiaoyu, I've brought you some candy. My daughter gave birth to a big, healthy boy weighing seven pounds!" Mrs. Xu said, taking out a few pieces of candy from her bag and handing them out casually. No one took any, so she had to give them directly to Qin Xiaoyu.

"Haircut or perm?" Qin Xiaoyu didn't take the candy, but just asked politely.

"Little Fish, are you not sure who I am? I'm your master's in-law!" Mrs. Xu realized something was wrong and quickly added a self-introduction.

"I know, haircut or perm?" Qin Xiaoyu asked stubbornly.

"I was just passing by and came to take a look." Mrs. Xu's smile was so stiff that she didn't know where to stand.

"Bang!" Someone kicked over a bucket of water, splashing water all over Xu's mother's trouser leg. She didn't dare to make a scene, so she could only quietly move a little.

"Little Fish, I have something I want to tell you."

"Let's talk here, I'm busy."

“Look, your master hasn’t been doing too well lately. She’s too embarrassed to come over herself, so I’ve come to apologize to you on her behalf.” Xu’s mother could only try to steer the conversation towards Master Wang.

"My master didn't do anything to wrong me, so why should he apologize?" Qin Xiaoyu wasn't buying it.

“That means she just abandoned your stall and went home. That's not a good thing to do, and I already told her that…”

"Really? You mentioned her?" Qin Xiaoyu interrupted Xu's mother, repeating herself sarcastically.

“I told you, look at your apprentice, running around all by himself, there are so many things he can’t take care of. Now he even has to move to the school to live because of you, and he also has to take care of two children. It’s so hard for him…”

"It's great that I moved to live near the school. I don't have to waste time on the road anymore, and I don't have to cook dinner myself. It's not hard work," Qin Xiaoyu interrupted her again.

"Anyway, there are just too many things to worry about!" Mrs. Xu was getting a little anxious, and she almost covered Qin Xiaoyu's mouth to let her talk to herself.

"It's my own school, I earn my own money, so it's only right that I worry about it, isn't it?" Qin Xiaoyu smiled slightly.

"Alright, alright, that's only right. But when your master is around, you can always have some peace of mind. If you ask me, let her come back." Mrs. Xu finally said it and breathed a sigh of relief.

"No need, I can't afford it." Qin Xiaoyu smiled coldly.

“Why can’t we afford her? Now that she’s withdrawn her shares, just treat her like an employee and pay her a salary.” Mrs. Xu was quite clever and started setting her own terms.

"Is this what your master told you to say? I don't believe it."

"No, this is what I'm thinking. She's proud and embarrassed to ask you for help. A few days ago, her family was really short of money, so she went back to her old shop to open it, but she didn't have any customers and closed it after two days. Please help her out, considering that your master has been taking care of you since you had nothing." Xu's mother was indeed a skilled actress; her tearful words were quite touching.

"This isn't because I'm heartless as your apprentice, it's because you forced me to do it."

Qin Xiaoyu knew that Master Wang had gone back to reopen his old shop; the customers had told her. However, everyone there recognized Qin Xiaoyu's brand, and the regular customers had already moved to the hairdressing school; nobody went there anymore.

After sitting there for two days, Master Wang felt he couldn't save face, so he stopped opening for business.

"Alright, alright, tell me, I'll agree to anything you ask to get your master back." Seeing that Qin Xiaoyu was unyielding and had made up her mind, Madam Xu had no choice but to give in.
