Chapter 112 Raising Money for Lei Laoda's Departure

Chapter 112

A group of brothers followed Lei Tingjun out of the export department office.

Sun Xiaojun, who had been silent with red eyes the whole time, stammered from behind, "Boss, I..."

Lei Tingjun wasn't in a good mood and didn't want to talk, so he said in a deep voice, "Shut up."

Sun Xiaojun dared not disobey his boss's wishes. He had a thousand words stuck in his throat, but could only watch helplessly as his boss strode briskly toward the dormitory building.

Seeing this, Zhou Peng turned around and said to the other brothers, "Everyone, go back first. I'll let you know if anything happens. These next few days, everyone be good and work properly."

A guy from the next workshop stepped forward, patted Zhou Peng on the shoulder, looked at Lei Tingjun's back, and said, "Zhou Peng, we don't know how to comfort our boss about what happened. Anyway, just tell me, whenever Boss Lei needs us, just say the word, and we brothers will do it without hesitation."

"Okay, I got it. I'll pass that on to the boss. You can take the guys back to work now."

After everyone left, only Zhou Peng, Lao Xiao, and a few others followed Lei Tingjun back to the dormitory.

Lei Tingjun entered the dormitory without saying a word, then sat on the lower bunk by the window, took out his cigarette case, and silently lit one.

Sun Xiaojun, who followed closely behind, was at a loss and filled with guilt. He wanted to go forward and say something, but this usually quick-witted person couldn't utter a single word at this moment.

After Zhou Peng and Lao Xiao came in, they closed the door and sat down on the lower bunk.

The four-person dormitory has been shared by several brothers for two or three years, and they have long since developed a strong bond.

Faced with this result, everyone remained silent, as if a dark cloud was hanging over them.

Sun Xiaojun choked up for a long time, then suddenly knelt down in front of Lei Tingjun with a thud.

“Boss, you are my second parents. I, Sun Xiaojun, will always recognize you as my boss! Without you, my life would be over.” Sun Xiaojun buried his head on the ground and cried.

Lei Tingjun, smoking a cigarette, glanced at him indifferently: "Alright, look at you, so pathetic. A man's knees are worth gold, why are you always kneeling? Get up."

Sun Xiaojun refused to get up and continued to cry: "Eldest brother, you know, I have an elderly mother who is seriously ill, and younger siblings who are still in school. They all depend on the little money I send back home every month... If I lose this job, I really won't have the face to go back and see them."

"Boss, I really don't know how to thank you enough for helping me like this. I, Sun Xiaojun, will serve you like a slave for the rest of my life, doing whatever you, Lei Tingjun, ask. I'll go through fire and water for you..."

"I told you to get up, don't make me say it a second time," Lei Tingjun said impatiently, frowning.

Old Xiao couldn't stand it anymore, so he came over and pulled Sun Xiaojun up. "Alright, get up and talk."

Sun Xiaojun knew that he was being selfish for accepting Lei Tingjun's kindness, but he really had no other choice.

He has elderly parents and young children at home, and they all rely on him to send back fifty yuan every month to support them.

But Boss Lei is different. He has no parents and no worries. Even if he is temporarily unemployed, he can find other ways to make a living with his abilities.

But it was precisely because they all knew this that Sun Xiaojun felt ashamed and had no face to face Lei Tingjun.

After Lei Tingjun finished smoking a cigarette, he said calmly, "You don't need to blame yourself. I was planning to leave Dongfang Factory and go out to make my own way in the world anyway. Whether or not this happened, I was going to leave anyway."

Upon hearing this, Lao Xiao looked up at Lei Tingjun thoughtfully.

Zhou Peng, however, thought that Lei Tingjun was just saying that to comfort Sun Xiaojun.

Sun Xiaojun thought so too, and he cried even more ashamedly: "Boss, you don't need to say anything, I know everything. You've always treated us brothers like family."

Lei Tingjun was too lazy to explain any further.

Now that things at the factory have been settled, his brother's job is safe, and there's no need for him to linger here any longer.

Lei Tingjun got up and began packing his luggage.

Seeing this, Zhou Peng hurriedly asked, "Boss, are you really planning to leave?"

"Hmm." Lei Tingjun took the things off the table and put them in a washbasin.

He quickly rolled up the bed and bedding, walked to the old wardrobe by the door, and took out his duffel bag.

Sun Xiaojun panicked: "Boss, you don't have to be in such a hurry to leave. Although Director Ji has spoken, your resignation procedures haven't been completed yet. You still have half a month's salary to collect."

Lei Tingjun said, "No need, I already took a few days off."

Seeing that their leader was very determined, the brothers didn't know what to do.

After a long silence, Lao Xiao asked, "Brother Lei, what are your plans after you leave the factory? Will you stay in Pingquan County?"

Lei Tingjun shifted his position slightly before saying, "I might go to the city, but it's hard to say for sure right now. Anyway, no matter where I go, I'll always send you a message back."

Old Xiao watched as Lei Tingjun quickly packed his luggage. They were all rough men who went out to work, unlike young girls, and they didn't have much luggage to begin with.

Besides bedding, there were only a few changes of clothes.

This time, however, Lei Tingjun had to pack a whole stack of books.

What Ji Wanmei gave him last time, Lei Tingjun wants to take away this time.

Old Xiao got up, rummaged through the cotton wadding under his pillow, and pulled out a few bills, about a hundred yuan.
