Chapter 7 A Man Full of Vigor

She changed into a white shirt and black trousers, paired with flat leather shoes with Chinese knot buttons.

Logically speaking, in this day and age, most girls who like to dress up dress like this.

But Ji Wanmei tucked the hem of her white shirt into her waistband, revealing her slender waistline. She then took a red printed silk scarf and tied it around the collar of her shirt, making a pretty bow and letting the end of the scarf hang down gracefully.

Then she unbuttoned two buttons on her shirt, which was neither too conservative nor too revealing because of the scarf.

After dressing up like this, she stood there gracefully, exuding the fashionable air of a modern girl who had returned from big cities like Beijing and Shanghai.

After tidying up, Ji Wanmei left the house satisfied.

After leaving the courtyard, Ji Wanmei walked into the main courtyard for about ten minutes and arrived at another building.

She called out, "Chunyan, Chunyan, are you home?"

Luo Chunyan was Ji Wanmei's childhood friend from the compound, and was only a year and a half older than Ji Wanmei.

However, they were in the same grade in school. After graduating from junior high school, Luo Chunyan did not plan to go to university because her grades were not very good. Instead, she went to a vocational school.

Ji Wanmei continued her high school studies and then got into a university in the provincial capital.

In the past two years, since their schools have separated, they have only seen each other on weekends and holidays, and rarely at other times.

Especially after Ji Wanmei received her university admission notice, Luo Chunyan, who had just graduated from vocational school and was about to start working in a factory, probably felt that the gap between the two of them was gradually widening and felt inferior, so she rarely took the initiative to visit Ji Wanmei.

But Ji Wanmei knew that Luo Chunyan wasn't the kind of person who was jealous. She was afraid that she would look down on her after she became a college student, so she took the initiative to distance herself.

In her past life, Ji Wanmei had a few years of hardship, and Luo Chunyan had helped her out.

Ji Wanmei has always remembered this kindness.

Luo Chunyan's home was on the third floor of the building facing north. After hearing Ji Wanmei's voice, a middle-aged woman leaned out from the balcony and saw Ji Wanmei standing downstairs. She smiled and said, "Oh, it's Wanmei. Are you here to see Chunyan? Wait a minute, she's doing laundry. I'll go and call her for you."

Ji Wanmei looked up and said, "Yes, thank you, Auntie."

Aunt Luo looked at Ji Wanmei for a while and exclaimed, "Oh my, Wanmei, it's only been two months since I last saw you, and you seem to have become even more beautiful."

Ji Wanmei shyly tucked her hair behind her ear: "Aunt Luo just loves to make fun of me."

A short while later, Luo Chunyan ran downstairs. She was still wearing arm sleeves, and her clothes were dusty and dirty, so she was obviously working.

When Ji Wanmei took the initiative to come to her, Luo Chunyan was very surprised and delighted: "Meimei, it's been a long time. Is there something you need?"

She thought that after Ji Wanmei got into university, she would go to the provincial capital to develop her career and gradually drift away from her old friends who only had a vocational school education and went to work in factories. She felt quite disappointed and was too embarrassed to go see Ji Wanmei again.

Unexpectedly, she took the initiative to come to find me.

Ji Wanmei was also very happy to see Luo Chunyan and nodded: "Hmm, Chunyan, are you busy right now? How about we go out for a walk? I'll treat you to an ice cream."

At that time, the cheapest and most affordable snack was a popsicle that cost two cents.

Luo Chunyan was delighted: "Okay, then wait here for me for a while, I'll go back and change my clothes and then come downstairs!"

Ji Wanmei came to see Luo Chunyan not only to reminisce about the past, but also for other reasons.

Luo Chunyan is a very capable person; she is nimble-fingered and eloquent.

Ji Wanmei also has a long-term career plan in mind after her rebirth.

She will still go to university, but she doesn't intend to waste those four years.

She plans to persuade her father to take out a portion of the family savings to invest in her business.

My good friend Luo Chunyan is a great business partner.

Ji Wanmei came to see Luo Chunyan today to ask about her future plans and whether she had any intention of starting a business with her.
