Chapter Seventy-Two
Startled by Lei Tingjun's sudden shout, the man's hand trembled, and the sharp blade in his hand instantly slashed through the passenger's bag. Then, relying on his years of experience as a pickpocket, he moved with lightning speed.
In the blink of an eye, they had stolen the contents of the passenger's bag.
The passenger was also a man, but he was in his forties or fifties, not very tall, and had a slightly overweight beer belly. He only realized that he had been robbed when the pickpocket had already run halfway out of the carriage.
The middle-aged passenger immediately stood up and shouted, "There's a thief! Stop right there! Catch the thief! Catch the thief!"
Before the passenger could react, Lei Tingjun had already quickly caught up with them.
The carriage suddenly erupted in chatter, but most passengers seemed unfazed. Some craned their necks to watch the spectacle, while others remained indifferent and aloof, keeping to themselves as if it were none of their business.
Lei Jun is tall and has long legs. He runs fast, and most importantly, his leg muscles have strong explosive power. When he runs, he is like a nimble jungle leopard.
He weaved and leaped through the crowded and noisy carriages, chasing after him relentlessly for two carriages.
The pickpocket in front, with his thin frame, slipped and scurried away as fast as a mouse that had crawled into a crowd.
The middle-aged passenger who had lost his belongings followed behind, staggering as he shouted, "Hey buddy up ahead, help me catch him!"
Lei Tingjun ignored the people behind him. When he saw the pickpocket in front of him being blocked by a large luggage bag, he immediately seized the opportunity, took a leap forward, and kicked the pickpocket to the ground with his long leg.
The force was so great that it was no less than a thousand pounds pressing down on you.
After being kicked to the ground, the pickpocket nearly coughed up blood, but instead of surrendering, he hardened his expression, got up, and swung the dagger in his hand at Lei Tingjun.
Upon seeing the man brandish a knife, the passengers on the bus were terrified and quickly backed away.
Some of the passengers, who were holding children, were so frightened that they started crying and screaming. The elderly also joined in the shouting. The women were panicked, the men were dumbfounded, and the entire carriage was thrown into chaos.
Soon, the crowded carriage miraculously cleared a space of two or three meters, leaving room for the pickpocket and Lei Tingjun to fight.
The pickpocket had a knife in his hand; the three-inch blade gleamed with a merciless sharpness in the sunlight streaming through the window.
The pickpocket swung his dagger haphazardly, trying to stop Lei Tingjun from getting closer.
But who is Lei Tingjun? He has the nickname "Tiger Lei" and is fearless. Would he be afraid to fight a small-minded thief with a pointed mouth and monkey cheeks?
With his superior height, absolute strength, and explosively powerful arm muscles, Lei Tingjun quickly kicked the pickpocket to the ground, then stomped him on the ground, snatched the stolen goods from him, and tucked them into his waistband. He planned to find something to tie the man up so he could hand him over to the police officers on the train later.
To everyone's surprise, the pickpocket resisted stubbornly. Even after being pinned to the ground with his hands tied behind his back by Lei Tingjun, he still refused to surrender.
He swung the dagger in his hand with all his might, and Lei Tingjun's hand was accidentally cut by the sharp blade, and blood immediately flowed out.
This immediately enraged Lei Tingjun, who swung his fist, which was as big as a sandbag, and slammed it down twice.
They beat the pickpocket until he was dizzy and saw stars, and he no longer had the strength to resist.
The passengers in carriage three were excited to see Lei Tingjun subdue the pickpocket so easily, and they all applauded.
At this moment, the middle-aged passenger whose belongings had been stolen finally caught up. He came over panting and saw that the pickpocket had been beaten to the ground in a sorry state, while the young man who had bravely intervened had a cut on his hand.
The wound is still bleeding.
The middle-aged passenger quickly went over and said gratefully, "Young man, are you injured? Thank you so much! You were the only one in the whole carriage who dared to help. Thank you so much, thank you so much."
Lei Tingjun said nonchalantly, "I'm fine, just a minor injury, it's nothing."
As he spoke, he handed the man the item wrapped in brown paper that had been seized: "This was found on him. It should be something from your bag. Take a look and see if anything is missing."
The middle-aged man took the oil paper package, opened it, glanced at it, and laughed, "Nothing is missing, nothing is missing. Luckily, you helped me out, otherwise I would have suffered no loss. Young man, your hand is injured. Come with me to the cabin crew room to find a doctor to bandage it. Don't worry, I'll pay for your medical expenses."
Lei Tingjun still remembered to go back to see Ji Wanmei. He had been here for quite some time, and she would definitely be worried if she saw that he hadn't returned yet.
Lei Tingjun waved his hand and said, "It's good that you found your things. My hand is fine, it'll be better in a couple of days."
The middle-aged man was dressed in a suit and sheepskin shoes, carrying a leather bag; he looked like a businessman who traveled all over the country.
Having spent so many years in the business world and seen countless people who were only after profit, this was the first time he had ever seen a young man like Lei Tingjun who would step in to help those in need and ask for nothing in return.
It was truly rare, so I couldn't help but take another look at him.
On the other side, the flight attendant, who had been notified, arrived late. By the time she arrived, the pickpocket had already been tied up with a nylon rope by Lei Tingjun, and a smelly sock that had fallen on the floor of the carriage was stuffed into his mouth. He was making muffled noises.
After understanding the situation, the police officer gave Lei Tingjun a verbal commendation and a performance, then comforted the middle-aged passenger whose belongings had been stolen, and then took the pickpocket away.
The passengers breathed a sigh of relief when they saw the pickpocket being taken away by the police.
Thunder Army is also preparing to return.
But the middle-aged passenger, having stopped Lei Tingjun, smiled and looked him up and down, asking, "Young man, where are you from, and what do you do for a living?"
"He's from Pingquan County and works at the Dongfang Factory. What happened?"
"Oh, so you're from Pingquan. We're from the same city." The middle-aged man took out a bill from his wallet under his arm and handed it to Lei Tingjun, saying politely, "It's just a small token of my appreciation for your help. Your hand is injured, so take this money and treat your wound yourself."
Lei Tingjun looked down and saw that the man was quite generous, giving him fifty yuan as a thank-you fee.
But Lei Tingjun waved his hand: "It's nothing, no need."
He subdued the pickpocket entirely out of his own sense of justice and morality, not for anyone's thanks, so Lei Tingjun would not accept the money.
If it were an ordinary person, upon seeing fifty yuan, their eyes would light up, and they would pretend to be polite before quickly accepting it.
But Thunder simply refused to accept it, not even bothering to pretend to refuse, and turned around and walked away.
The middle-aged man paused for a moment, then smiled appreciatively and called out to Lei Tingjun, "Young man, how about this, I'll leave you my business card. If you ever need any help in the future, just call the number on the card and you'll be able to find me."
Seeing that the man seemed sincere, Lei Tingjun took the business card, stuffed it into his pocket, and said, "Okay."
