Chapter 87 Chase Shop

Chapter 87

Lei Tingjun watched Ji Wanmei and her group walk away from the guesthouse before slowly taking out a cigarette case from his pocket.

He lit a cigarette and leaned against the wall and pillar, silently finishing it.

He threw the cigarette butt under his feet, crushed it, and extinguished it before turning around.

His tall and imposing figure blended into the dimly lit city nightscape, which seemed to be staring into the distance like a gaping maw.

There were only a few cigarettes left in the cigarette pack in my pocket.

After leaving, Lei Tingjun found that whenever he was with Ji Wanmei, his heart and eyes were filled with thoughts of her.

I don't even think about smoking.

But as soon as she left, an indescribable restlessness welled up in his heart. He felt inexplicably agitated and kept wanting to smoke a cigarette.

Suppress all those messy thoughts.

Lei Tingjun put his hands in his jeans pockets and strode forward in his leather boots.

He didn't go far, just circled around the area, trying to find some cheaper accommodation.

Lei Tingjun didn't want to waste money on his own food, clothing, housing, and transportation. He would rather save money himself and buy more things for Ji Wanmei.

They will go to the wholesale market again tomorrow morning.

Lei Tingjun counted the money he had left in his pocket and thought about buying Ji Wanmei a decent gift.

I don't know what she likes.

A watch seems like a good gift for a girl.

But Lei Tingjun noticed that she was wearing a necklace, the brand of which he didn't know, but it was probably bought for her by her father.

Since it was bought by Ji Xingguo, it can't be too bad.

Scarf, handbag?

It seemed that she already possessed everything he could imagine.

That's why the Thunder team often felt a deep sense of frustration.

After searching for more than half an hour, Lei Tingjun finally found a workers' guesthouse.

The workers' guesthouse had large communal sleeping quarters, with ten people sharing a room. The toilets and other facilities were all shared by everyone at the end of the corridor.

It's a large dormitory room for ten people, and each bed only costs 50 cents. It's not great in any way, but it's cheap.

But Lei Tingjun has traveled all over the country and even slept on benches in open-air train stations, so what's a dormitory room to him?

At least there's still a bed available.

When Lei Tingjun entered, eight people were already living in the ten-person room.

It was all men, the room was small, the ventilation and lighting were poor, and the smell was really hard to describe, it was stinky.

The men's sleeping positions weren't very good either; they were all sprawled out, and whoever was the most domineering and could squeeze in got the most space.

Those who are weak and cowardly will be relegated to a corner.

The law of the jungle has always been the way of the jungle in the male's environment.

Lei Tingjun, a tall man of 1.85 meters, with broad shoulders and long legs, a cold and sharp appearance, wearing jeans and low-top leather boots, stepped into the house.

The room fell silent instantly.

Everyone seemed to shrink in size and volume instantly, the room dimmed, and it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

The aura of the Thunder Army was so intimidating that no one dared to speak in the once noisy dormitory.

After entering, Lei Tingjun glanced around the dormitory with his dark eyes, then strode over to the bed closest to the window.

He lowered his head, his dark eyes staring at a fat man lying on top of him. He kicked the man with his foot and said, "Get up. I want to sleep here."

The fat man, taking advantage of his size, grabbed the best bed as soon as he came in.

At that time, this bed was originally occupied by a skinny guy. He came first and naturally chose his spot, but after being threatened by the fat guy, he was slunk away to the very back of the communal bed.

The innermost part is often the darkest and dampest, and besides, the July weather attracts mosquitoes.

He was just thin and small, so he didn't dare to confront people directly.

When you're out and about, you've suffered these kinds of losses so many times that you know when to be tolerant, otherwise you'll be the one who gets hurt when the fist falls on you.

You'll get punched a few times, but the guesthouse owner won't care, and the police station won't bother you either.

Unexpectedly, a taller and stronger man suddenly walked in, went straight to the fat man, and told him to get out of the way without any politeness.

The skinny little guy huddled inside, cautiously poking his head out to peek out.

He felt a sense of excitement, as if someone had helped him vent his anger.

The fat man was kicked awake and, who had been cursing, spat back, "Who the hell is it? Disturbing my sleep, looking for a beating?"

He was cursing when he suddenly stopped.

As the fat man looked up, he saw a very tall figure, like a high wall, staring at him expressionlessly with its dark, cold eyes.

He was a young man who looked to be only in his early twenties, with sharp eyebrows and eyes, a prominent nose, and biceps as strong as hammers. He was wearing a pair of leather boots.

If someone were kicked like that, they would break several of their ribs.

The fat man shuddered under Lei Tingjun's gaze, a chill ran down his spine, and an invisible, suffocating feeling, as if someone were strangling him, instantly enveloped his entire body.

The fat man quickly scrambled to his feet, trembling, and dared not utter another sound, silently making way for Lei Tingjun.

Lei Tingjun waited until the bed closest to the window was given up before disdainfully wiping the dust off an old blanket.

Then I took off my boots and lay down on them.

The others dared not make any more noise and quickly prepared to settle down.
