Not long ago, in that bustling supply and marketing cooperative, Mo Hongying had quite a haul! She carefully selected and bought several colorful candies with different flavors.
Not only that, she also specially selected two beautiful butterfly hair clips for her eldest daughter. The butterflies on the hair clips were so lifelike that they seemed ready to flutter and dance at any moment.
At the same time, she bought her son Erdan a cute little frog toy that would hop around when wound up. At that moment, Mo Hongying happily took out all these treasures at once.
This unexpected surprise made the two children extremely happy!
Despite having promised beforehand that she would bring back some special gifts for the children upon her return from the city, Mo Hongying had made a solemn promise.
However, no matter how hard the two little ones racked their brains to guess, they probably never expected that their mother would be so generous this time!
After all, it was usually their beloved uncle, Mo Yuan, who bought them gifts.
This time, however, is the first time their mother has made such a promise and put it into practice!
Actually, this was the first time Mo Hongying had ever left her home to go to the city since she came to Xiao Mo Village.
So, these two innocent siblings, with their simple minds, had no idea how many intricacies and reasons of the adult world were hidden within them.
Ultimately, it all comes down to not having enough money!
They simply realized that in the past, their mother had always been unable to buy them gifts because she was reluctant to spend money or was short of money, but now she seemed to have become much more generous.
This realization alone was enough to make them both overjoyed.
So, when the siblings happily received the long-awaited gifts from their mother, their excitement was palpable. Like two happy little rabbits, they hopped around excitedly.
Afterwards, they huddled together, immersed in this rare joy, and shared their happiness and bliss.
Watching this heartwarming scene, Mo Hongying couldn't help but smile with relief and warmth, her heart feeling as warm as if it were being bathed in the spring sunshine.
Daya and Erdan happily picked up the colorful, enticingly fragrant candies and carefully put them in their mouths to chew. The sweet taste of the candies instantly bloomed on their tongues, like a clear spring flowing over them, making them feel intoxicated.
However, these two well-behaved and sensible children didn't just enjoy the treats themselves. Instead, they unwrapped several candies and offered them to their grandfather, uncle, and Mo Hongying. Everyone gladly accepted the children's kindness, putting the candies in their mouths and feeling the sweet taste spread throughout their palates. At that moment, not only were their mouths filled with sweetness, but their hearts were also filled with ripples of happiness.
After their mouths were fully satisfied, Daya and Erdan's attention turned to the novel gifts. As if on cue, they quickly assigned them to different people: the delicate and cute hair clips naturally went to the beauty-loving Daya, while the lifelike frog became the beloved possession of the mischievous Erdan. However, faced with these unfamiliar gadgets, they were momentarily at a loss as to how to use them.
Fortunately, Mo Hongying had come prepared. When she bought the gifts at the supply and marketing cooperative, she had carefully asked the salesperson how to use them. Now, with a smile, she gently helped Daya fasten the hair clip in her hair. As the clip was secured, Daya's already pretty face became even more beautiful and charming, like a blooming flower. Looking at her daughter's delicate appearance, Mo Hongying couldn't help but feel a surge of pride.
The butterfly wing hair clip on the little girl's head shimmered with a mesmerizing light. As she gently shook her head, the wings fluttered as if they were about to take flight. This wondrous sight made the little girl giggle, her clear and melodious laughter echoing in the air like silver bells.
Then, Mo Hongying patiently went to Erdan's side and taught him how to wind up the frog toy in his hand. Erdan stared wide-eyed at his mother's movements and learned how in no time.
After he wound up the rope, he released it, and the green frog, as if brought to life, hopped away into the distance with a series of "thumps." Seeing this amusing scene, the two children were overjoyed, dancing and laughing with glee.
The two children were at an age of innocence, guilelessness, and barely able to hide their joy. Having just received their new gifts, they couldn't contain their excitement and eagerly wanted to go out and show them off to their friends. They quickly stuffed a few candies into their pockets; without a word, it was clear they intended to share the sweetness with their friends.
Mo Hongying and the others, watching the two little ones sneakily stuffing candy into their pockets in full view of everyone, couldn't help but find it amusing. Then, the children excitedly grabbed their new toys and skipped and jumped towards the door, shouting, "Mom, let's go out and play!"
Mo Hongying smiled as she watched the two children's joyful figures disappear from sight, while still tenderly reminding them, "Slow down, be careful not to fall! I bought some meat in town today, I'll make you some delicious braised pork later. Remember to come home for dinner on time, or I'll have to go out and call you around!" However, before she could finish speaking, the two children had already vanished without a trace.
