"Ah! Ah! Who is it?" Wang Jian stood up in a panic, and was mostly sober now.
The other three people at the table looked at Liu Zi with surprise.
Ignoring the stares of those around her, Liu Zi looked at Wang Jian.
"Are you awake?"
"I'm sorry, boss." Wang Jian's face turned deathly pale when he saw who it was.
"Now that you're full, let's go back to our room!" Liu Zi didn't say anything unpleasant from outside.
"Attorney Rong, I'm sorry, but I'll have to treat you properly when we get back to Beijing." Liu Zi didn't even glance at Xu Da and Xu Er.
"It's alright, we can get together again next time. I'm tired too, I'm going back to my room now." Attorney Rong tactfully left first.
With a stern face, Liu Zi led Wang Jian into the business conference room provided by the hotel.
"Boss, I'm sorry." Wang Jian bowed and apologized as soon as he entered the door.
"Wang Jian, you're not letting me down, you're letting yourself down," Liu Zi said coldly.
"You know that what you just did would have gotten you fired in a big company. Revealing the boss's or company information before the situation is even clear is a major taboo." Regardless of ability, loyalty and discretion are essential for any assistant.
"I'm sorry, boss, I shouldn't have listened to their side of the story." Wang Jian realized that Xu Da and Xu Er had been deliberately leading him to believe that the boss and the other party's general manager had an ambiguous relationship.
"Wang Jian, although you are still young, there are some mistakes you can't afford to make. Think about what Attorney Rong did just now. Didn't those two people consult Attorney Rong? I know you come from the countryside, and there are some things your family didn't teach you. You need to learn and observe more on your own. I don't believe that someone who got into university is stupid enough to not understand such a simple thing."
Wang Jian lowered his head in shame. He wasn't unaware of the situation; he had simply become arrogant.
"Wang Jian, you need to remember, you are not irreplaceable. No matter what, I will not entrust my career to an unreliable person." Liu Zi had already made her point clear. If he made the same mistake again, then she was sorry, she would have to ask him to leave.
Wang Jian was sweating profusely. Everything he had was given to him by his boss. If his boss fired him, he might have to go back to the situation where he was bullied by everyone.
"I'm sorry, boss, I'll definitely be more careful in the future." Wang Jian bowed again in apology.
Liu Zi swayed and turned to the side; she wasn't old enough to need to accept bows from others.
Seeing that Wang Jian's attitude in admitting his mistake was acceptable, Liu Zi's words softened considerably.
"I'm still willing to teach you, which means I'll give you another chance. Remember today's lesson and don't make the same mistake again."
"Yes, I understand, boss." Wang Jian quickly nodded in agreement.
After saying all that, Liu Zi began to explain her upcoming schedule.
After hearing Liu Zi's account, Wang Jian felt even more remorseful.
The boss trusted him so much, letting him participate and broaden his horizons, but he turned around and let the boss down. It's so embarrassing.
Wang Jian could no longer lift his head.
Liu Zi felt she had said everything she needed to say, so she told him to leave.
We're short-staffed!
Liu Zi sighed.
She didn't care about these things before, but since Zhao Qian openly cheated on her in her previous life, she often went on business trips and couldn't find out, but the two housekeepers at home couldn't possibly not know.
They receive their wages from her every month, yet none of them reveal any information to her.
Afterwards, when she asked them for help, the two of them said matter-of-factly that it had nothing to do with them and that they had no obligation to tell her.
She also had two assistants, one of whom had been with her for six years. She later learned that both of them had been bribed by Zhao Qian and his son Zhao Gang, who had revealed her income, schedule, and work details to her.
Even though Liu Zi was angry when she found out, there was nothing she could do. How many assistants in the entertainment industry have leaked artists' privacy?
But after spending the last two days with Xu Da and Xu Er, she realized that assistants could be like this.
One was brave and diligent, the other was intelligent and eloquent, and most importantly, both were exceptionally loyal to Li Mu.
At that moment, Liu Zi felt a pang of envy for him.
The following day, Liu Zi met Zhang Ke, who had come from Hong Kong, in the hotel's reception room.
Of course, he wasn't alone; he led a team.
Liu Zi didn't say much, but first pushed the simplified sheet music of the three songs over to show the other party her sincerity.
The three songs are: "Love and Success", "My Pride", and "The Ultimate Move".
After taking the song, Zhang Ke glanced at its title and then hesitated, as if he wanted to say something but couldn't.
Liu Zi raised an eyebrow: "President Zhang, please speak freely."
"Were these works by Ms. Liu completed recently?"
Zhang Ke wasn't worried about being fooled. Whether it was a good work or not, the people behind him would soon provide the answer.
He was simply marveling at Liu Zi's creative ability. Does that mean talent always trumps hard work?
"Of course not, this is just the song in my dictionary that best expresses my recent mood, and it's also the one that best fits the style of your Zheng Nan Records." Liu Zi lowered her head and stroked her nails, speaking casually.
Zhang Ke was greatly shocked.
At that moment, his shirt was being tugged repeatedly by his assistant sitting behind him, the frequency of which made him feel somewhat dazed.
This was an agreement they made long ago. In order not to offend Liu Zi and to protect the company's interests, if they thought one song was good, they would slowly pull it twice; if two songs were good, they would pull it four times; and if three songs were good, they would pull it hard.
Zhang Ke immediately sat up straight, his eyes shining as he looked at Liu Zi.
Although the script hasn't been released yet, Zhang Ke no longer doubts Liu Zi's sincerity.
"Miss Liu, what are your requests for such a generous gift?"
Zhang Ke is no fool. Ever since "At Least There Is Still" became a hit last year, they have been actively contacting her to invite her to write songs, but she has turned them all down.
To date, only Jin Xing and Zhang Shaohan from Taiwan have received her work.
Since the other party was satisfied with the song, Liu Zi then made her demands.
"First, as I mentioned before, you must release a song within a month; you can decide which one yourself."
Zhang Ke nodded. Although it was a bit rushed, good songs will always have singers, and Zheng Nan Records had the capability to do so.
"Secondly, this is an article, and I hope it can be published in your two newspapers on May 1st."
Zhang Ke took it, skimmed through it, and when he looked up again, his face was full of admiration.
Liu Zi has mastered the art of killing without leaving a trace and subtly praising while actually criticizing.
"The manuscript is of very high quality. As long as Ms. Liu can guarantee that everything written in it is true, that's fine." As long as it's true, Zhang Ke assured them they would dare to do the typesetting.
"If there's a single falsehood, you can sue me if you want." Liu Zi leaned back in her office chair, and Wang Jian refilled her tea.
