Chapter 189, /.

"Don't you have any sense of public morality? You're occupying two seats and you still think you're right?" The woman persisted, forcefully pulling at Liu Zi's hand that was trying to stop her.

"Are you blind? My daughter is a grown woman, can't you see her?" Liu Zi wasn't going to tolerate her and yelled back.

"Buying one ticket and sitting in two seats, you really have the nerve to say that!" The woman rolled her eyes and complained.

"Give me your seat right now, or I'll report you to the ticket seller and make you pay the fare!"

"Go ahead! Who's blocking your way?"

Seeing that the woman's hand was about to hit Zhao Qi, Liu Zi panicked and pushed the woman away with force.

The woman took two steps back and fell onto the lap of a middle-aged woman across the street.

"Ouch!"

Liu Zi realized then that fighting also requires strength.

It's all that damned old woman Zhao's fault. She has plenty of money, yet she mistreats her and her daughter, forbidding them from eating meat and claiming that the money is for her grandson, and that these worthless women don't deserve to enjoy it.

Seeing that Liu Zi was not easy to deal with, the woman shouted loudly, "Ticket seller, ticket seller, there are people sneaking in without paying the fare, are you going to do anything about it?"

Because of the commotion, everyone on the bus looked over, even the driver leaned out to see what had happened.

Liu Zi straightened her clothes, which had been pulled askew, and said irritably, "Who said I bought a ticket? Go ask the ticket seller if I bought a ticket for my daughter. You dress all high and mighty, but your mind is full of rubbish, and you still have the nerve to criticize others."

The ticket seller then came over from the back row: "What's all the commotion about? If you don't want to ride, get off."

"And you, what are you standing there for? Why aren't you sitting down? The car is about to leave; if you delay everyone's journey, I'll ask you to get off!"

Before the woman could reply, Liu Zi spoke first: "Ticket seller, this woman tried to take my daughter's seat, and when I refused, she tried to hit me with her bag."

The ticket seller gave the woman a hostile look.

The woman was furious, but she didn't want to be kicked off the bus, so she had to find another excuse.

"She didn't say she bought a ticket for the child. I get carsick, and if she just picked up the child, I could sit here. But she has no compassion at all. It's too much!" The woman wanted to stand on the moral high ground and accuse Liu Zi of lacking a spirit of mutual assistance.

"I bought a ticket for my daughter, and this is her seat. Of course, if there's no room on the train, I don't mind giving up my seat so someone else can sit there. But there are clearly seats available in the back, yet you come here to make things difficult for me, and your tone is so rude. Do I owe you anything? I'm telling you now, others can sit here, but you can't." Liu Zi persisted, determined not to let this go.

Seeing that everyone around her nodded in agreement, and even the ticket seller looking at her with an expression that said she was being unreasonable, the woman could only glare at Liu Zi and angrily turn her head to walk to the back of the bus, after all, she didn't want to be kicked off the bus.

"Serves you right!"

The ticket seller muttered under her breath. She often traveled this route and knew most of the people who came and went. That woman often picked fights with people on the bus for no reason; she had seen her five or six times already!

Liu Zi was now fully awake; thankfully, they were almost at Songzhuang.

She turned her head and looked at her daughter with a tender expression.

Are you hungry?

Liu Zi rushed out in the morning and didn't cook. She still had a few biscuits in her bag and was about to take them out to give to her daughter to tide her over.

"I'm not hungry, Mom. You were amazing!" Zhao Qi's eyes shone brightly, showing no signs of being frightened by what had just happened.

"Of course Mom is amazing, and Mom will protect you just like she did today in the future."

Liu Zi hugged her daughter. Such a good child, how could she have neglected her in her previous life!

"Yes!" Zhao Qi nodded happily; she finally had someone to protect her.

Half an hour later, they arrived at Songzhuang Station, where Liu Zi and her daughter got off the train.

But to her surprise, the woman she had argued with also squeezed out from the back of the bus and got off at that stop.

The woman gave Liu Zi a questioning look, then strode forward in her high heels.

Unexpectedly, there were two small pebbles on the ground, and she, being too arrogant, didn't see them and almost tripped and fell flat on her face.

The woman managed to maintain her balance, but felt extremely embarrassed. Just as she was about to walk away, she heard someone call her from behind.

"Song Yun, where have you been?" Song Yan's voice suddenly came from the side.

Song Yun was stunned for a moment. His previously arrogant attitude turned into a cowering lowering of his head.

"I'm asking you a question, why aren't you answering? Does your third aunt know you went out wearing these clothes?" Song Yan frowned, looking her cousin up and down at the few pieces of cloth on her body.

"I just went out with some friends for a while, nothing much. This outfit was brought back for me by my friend from Hong Kong; that's how people dress there," Song Yun explained softly.

"Don't go out with those shady people every day. You're a girl, and if you get taken advantage of, you'll have nowhere to complain." Song Yan looked disapproving. What kind of friends take you out to play every day and buy you things?

It seems we need to have her mother talk to her third aunt and tell her to keep a close eye on things to prevent any major problems from arising later.

Song Yun looked unconvinced, but she didn't argue anymore.

"Alright, hurry up and go home! Don't dress like that next time, what kind of person do you look like!" Seeing that the other person wouldn't listen to her, Song Yan simply stopped wasting her breath.

Upon hearing that Song Yan had let him go, Song Yun immediately took off running home.

Even Liu Zi was worried about her ankles from the way she was running.

Upon seeing Liu Zi, Song Yan came over to help her with her luggage.

"Girl, you've made a fool of yourself in front of everyone."

"Sister Yan, is this your relative?" Liu Zi asked with a gossipy look on her face.

"Yes, she's the only daughter of my third uncle's family. My third uncle passed away early, and this girl lives in the village with her mother."

"oh!"

After understanding the situation, Liu Zi felt relieved; it seemed they weren't very close.

However, she still told Song Yan everything that had happened in the car.

"What kind of things has this girl done!" Song Yan was ashamed of her.

"Sister Yan, are you here waiting for someone?" Now that things were out in the open, Liu Zi changed the subject.

"I've been waiting for you! I knew you'd taken the bus early this morning, so I came to pick you up and help you with your things."

Song Yan looked down at the only bag at Liu Zi's feet and was momentarily speechless.

"I don't have much stuff, I can walk there myself, there's no need to trouble you!"

"Don't be so polite with me, this must be your daughter! She's so beautiful." Song Yan felt a pang of sadness, but still smiled and said to her.

"Qiqi, quickly greet her, this is Aunt Song!"

"No! We all share the surname Song in Songjiazhuang. Half the village would want to accept you as an auntie. Just call me Aunt Yan!" Song Yan joked with Liu Zi.

Liu Zi thought about it and realized it made sense, and then she laughed out loud.

Zhao Qi's eyes lit up, and she cleverly called out "Aunt Yan," which made Song Yan beam with joy.
